So will the fly and the flypaper mesh actually be meeting any time soon?

That depends on how long it takes for the fly's house to sell. It also depends a little bit on the flypaper, but the fly doesn't want to put pressure on it.

Wow, the fly's certainly putting alot on his r/ship with the flymesh...particularly when it means uprooting the little lavae from its home. o_O

(I am not deliberately comparing your adorable daughter to a fly lavae, lmao. Bad metaphors)

Well, there's more to it than that, but I don't want to get into too many details here. :)
For now, I've no intention to take the larvae from its home.

Well, lots of luck to you. :)

I'm happy 'cause I printed off some lyrics to annotate as research for some songs I shall soon have to be writing for my poetry & lyrics class. I have never written a song before. Atleast, not since childhood.

Three I've printed off to analyse (purely to help my puddle of pee mind) are: Scar Tissue by RHCP, Black Hole Sun by Soundgarden, and Jeremy by Pearl Jam.

I've emailed my tutor to ask if I'll be able to include these in my research and notes section of the coursework, just incase it constitutes as plagerism. I hope not.

I just got inspired to write a song for the piano, so I typed away the beginning lyrics.

Now to learn how to play the darn thing. :D

Lavarian, you're in a band, right? You've got a myspace or something? I'm curious.

I've been in a few over the years.
The last one still has its ReverbNation page up.

The latest one is definitely my favorite of the lot so far, but we only started a couple months ago. We've got a good smattering of songs, (roughly 16 or so) but none of them recorded completely. I do have bits and pieces and rough demos recorded here and there, though. No myspace page or anything yet, but that will change soon.
Planning on recording everything within the month at the studio and starting to play private parties.
I do have a youtube channel where I've posted some of the original songs that I've written or are working on, and some covers too.

Oh I would love to be in a band as well.. What kind of music do you play? Your own songs or covers? Whats the name of the band, I'll youtube it.

I have a blister on my right foot. That's not very happy, but I got it from skating. That is happy.

    oh. mah. gah.

I received my marks back from my most recent chemistry quiz. I felt really confident about it, for once, and was excited to check my score. Unfortunately, I did much, much worse than I anticipated. :( I made a few stupid mistakes and for a few questions I just didnt know what I was talking about.

But! I reviewed the entire quiz, took it over again, and earned a 100% (for no credit; just for my own personal gain), so I guess I feel confident about it now. I also did all the problems in the book and reviewed worksheets and reread the chapters, and I feel confident about tomorrow's exam.

I also was so stressed about my poor grade that I checked my grade in the course. Currently, I have a 77% which isnt good, but it's better than I thought I had. It'll be a C+ by Wednesday, though, when I get my pre- and post-labs back for 45 points. And If I do well on tomorrow's exam (80% or higher, which I think is very doable), I'll have a B- or maybe even a solid B if I do really well.

Chemistry is my hardest course right now. It takes so much of my time. I really, really want an A, but honestly I'll be satisfied with a solid B or higher. I'm just glad my grade isnt in the tank. After seeing that quiz grade, I thought I might have had a D...

Tomorrow I have two exams, and on Wednesday I have another exam and my 3-hour lab. I'm stressed to the max, but I studied all weekend (seriously, I left my dorm room only to go to the bathroom and once crossed the street to get real food to-go), and I feel confident about it all.

I have As in two other courses, and a B+ as well. The B+ should go up to an A- or even a full A by tomorrow. :)

    /end panicked joy!

Out of curiosity, what are you currently studying in Chemistry, for that particular exam?

It's my gen chem course, so it probably is really simple stuff for you of course. But for me, havent had a chem course in over three years, it's pretty hard!

This exam is over two chapters; one is over bonding, covalent and ionic. So a lot of Lewis structures, octet rules, electronegativity and dipole moments, and bond enthalpy. The other chapter is over molecular geometry and shape, bond angles, VSPER, polarity in entire molecules as opposed to just atoms, and hybridization.

Two of the mistakes I made on the quiz were doing a bond length equation wrong, and another I mixed up trigonal pyramidal and tetrahedral shapes. Stupid on both counts; I know that stuff.

Honestly the only thing that still has me confused is hybridization. I understand the theory, but not the math. I dont understand how you can take one s orbital and one p orbital and wind up with 2 sp orbitals... but I dont think that's going to be a major part of test. At least I hope not! :( Either way, I've still got about 20 hours before the exam, so I'll figure it out soon... :D

I hope you do well, Mercurial. That stuff is...hard. I never really enjoyed it myself in high school. I liked literature and history more :p

Thank you! I hope I do well; I'm aiming for an 80% or higher, and I do think that I can do it for once. I enjoyed literature too, but history not as much. It's good though. :) Chemistry is hard, but I find science really interesting, and it gives me a feeling of joy inside when I can finally grasp a concept and apply an equation correctly. You should have seen me when I saw that our accuracy for our lab last week was 97%... :D

I'm off to watch some Jon Stewart before I study my bio, and then I'm off for a well-deserved good night's sleep. :)

Nothing major, but its good to know someones wants to post some of my stuff up.

    Congratulations, Speedy! That's excellent news!

Well, it's rock, but I don't know what genre. We incorporate a wide array of styles. Blues, Grunge, Metal, Classic Rock, Folk, maybe the tiniest hint of punk in one song.
It's going to be a challenge finding bands to play with us. The 16 songs that I mentioned are all original, but we also know a few covers to throw in as well for the people who aren't
familiar with our music. (I guess that'll be about everyone in the beginning) We haven't decided on a name yet, and we haven't recorded anything but samples.
We don't currently have any videos on youtube either, I was talking about just my own personal channel where I play some acoustic covers of some of my favorite songs and also some originals that I wrote.
If you'd like to hear that I could send you the link.

    ^ Gimme link, please!:)

I did some acoustic covers as well, I could send you some if you like to hear. Nothing really good.. I just enjoy playing for friends and family, and myself, but I'm not good enough to have an own youtube channel or something.
