Haha exactly! Results, whatever way they turn out, are an excuse for ice cream in my house. It's a pretty random tradition though I tend not to question good things
The way Joel and I were scheduled to work today, he was supposed to work until 1 PM, and I was supposed to go to work at 1 PM and close. Wasn't looking forward to that. But then my manager woke me up with a text this morning asking me to come in at 9 and work til 4 instead. Yay!
Chemistry, Physics, Maths and English Literature I worked ahead in Maths so I can fit an AS in Further Maths in. I don't know why I'm doing this to myself haha
Ahaha thanks; Even for the freak comment I guess hehe And Physics is actually one of my favourite subjects (he says as he hangs his head in shame) haha English Literature is my favourite for sure though. I have a brilliant teacher too... though there are rumors that my class won't have him next year... I'll save that for the Sad Post thread haha
There's no shame in loving the sciences. Besides, University is as much about broadening your horizons as it is about deepening expertise in your major.
There is no shame in loving the sciences. There is no shame in loving the sciences. There is no shame in loving the sciences. There is no shame in loving the sciences. There is no shame in loving the sciences. There is no shame in loving the sciences. There is no shame in loving the sciences. There is no shame in loving the sciences. There is no shame in loving the sciences. There is no shame in loving the sciences. Happy?
LOL. There is definitely no shame in loving the sciences. I love them --I just dont understand them --the natural physics and chemistry (bio isnt bad), that is.
Lucky you. I thought the same thing in May. Then reality slapped me across the face. I'll have to take at least two more math courses and dissect a few more brains before I can get my master's degree.
I love Chemistry. I don't know why, but I do. It fascinates me. Plus the teacher thinks I'm a genius.
I used to hate Chemistry and then I got the teacher I have now. He is brilliant haha The kind of person you just can't not like! But yeah, I'm the same. I nearly didn't do Chemistry but a month into the year I switched from Biology. Haven't regretted it since!
*jumps up and down* I am so incredibly happy because I was able to stretch my finances ($13) and get TWO books today instead of one!!! I thought I was only gonna get the one, and I got 2!!! Now I can cross 2 books off my list of books, which makes me happy. Plus my Clique series is complete (until October) and I finally have my own copy of Wuthering Heights!!! Nothing makes me happier than a new book.
I just applied to my first university. I am nervous about whether I will be accepted or not, but I am excited. My counselor has to sign off on my senior course schedule, current GPA, class rank, etc, as well as send in my SAT and ACT scores. All of this will be done on Monday. I should hear back within four to eight weeks whether I am going to a university or not. One down, four to go.
Did you hear that they are doing away with class ranks? Thanks to the No Child Left Behind Act? After this year, they're only assigning ranks for valedictorian and salutatorian.
Yeah, actually my school doesnt do ranking at all. I just wrote ranking because more people know what ranks are vs what my school does. We dont even do valedictorian or salutorian anymore; we do something called distinguished graduate, which is the student not necessarily the highest marks but high marks and who is active in the school and community as well. (I think the distinguished graduate program is BS. Thanks, high school; in an attempt to be modern and politically correct, you've now eliminated all physically disabled students, students who work to support their families, students who are untalented athletes, etc. who once had a shot at the wonderful position... It's taking "academic" out of the high school setting, if you ask me.) My guidance counselor will actually be informing the school of how I perform in comparison to the distinguished grad as well as where I am academically, percentage-wise. I would assume that I'm in the top 25%... My school is kind of lame in that they never release these statistics if you are still attending the high school. *shrug* I'm just happy that I'm graduating in 2010 instead of in 2011. I dont know about anywhere else, but my school is making all diplomas, including GED, Core 40, Core 40 + Academic Honors, and Core 40 + Technical Honors a lot more difficult to achieve.
I don't know if our school is making it harder to graduate, but when I heard they were doing away with rank, I was upset. I wouldn't be making it to valedictorian/salutatorian, but I'd be in the upper 25%. And the fact that I can't know where I stand bugs me. Before you know it they'll be replacing grades with some other politically correct system.
Applying and getting accepted to school is an exciting time- hope you get into the school of your choice! I am very happy because my computer is back. Now I get to spend the rest of the weekend restoring everything and copying my cd collection back over, which is a not so exciting time.
