Happy, HAPPY! I bought The Hollywood Standard for myself this week, and it came a day early! I can't wait to start reading it over again
Today is the last day my little baby boy is 0 years old. I can't wait for his Circus style birthday celebration tomorrow afternoon!!!
I am happy because I finally fixed my browser. It would freeze for a few seconds everytime it loaded a page. Considering I am the type of person who will drift aimlessly on a forum rereading whats been posted, changing my mind as I enter a thread and going right out it... well the small seconds it would freeze tend to add up fast.
You know it, babe. How did you fix it, if you don't mind my asking? Clear cache and etc. or did you reinstall the browser?
I had downloaded DivX Web Player last night. I was trying to watch some video and it wouldn't let me view it until I installed it. Didn't think much of it until my browser kept freezing for a few seconds today. When I uninstalled it the problem was fixed. So if you have the same program I would recommend removing it.
Awh. Today was a fairly uneventful Halloween, but I have to say, it was pretty sweet having an excuse to wear skates to work. I thought an eight and a half hour shift on wheels would get painful for my feet, but it wasn't bad. And I got a lot of skating practice.
There's a new HTFC-World report up from the Southampton match a couple of weeks back. As usual, it's hilarious. If you have half an hour spare, go over there and have a good laugh at the weird world of Danny Gee and Huddersfield Town. Highlights include Lee Novak's attempt to blow up Rickie Lambert with dynamite and ProZone being the guide to Pointless F***ing Statistics. And Virtual Fat Sam.
Thank you kindly, Speedy! *hugs* I'm a little sad today as well as seriously happy and excited. Today my baby boy is finally 1 year old. We have a cute 3 tier circus cake for him, that I made yesterday, he's opened his cards and presents, and has a party this afternoon. Happy 1st Birthday Tobin! xxx
And my best friend is in hospital today, her waters broke lastnight and she went into labour this morning! Looks like she might just have her baby on Tobin's birthday! Double celebration!!!!!
Finally my submission is ready. I am going to send the email to a literary agent in ten minutes. (I am gathering courage)
Wishing you the best, Chevalier! I was ecstatic the past two days. My boyfriend Tim came down from NJ to see me, over two hours of a drive, and made sure to give me a night with horror to make up for not going to any Halloween parties! I spent almost all day with him today as well, between massive chunks of time cuddling on my couch, to the hours we spent just walking and talking at the local promenade.
Hopefully it is not the liquid kind. Good luck. Good one Link, you probably speak it better than I do.
Happy birthday, Tobin, indeed. Hope the lad has plenty of presents alongside that delicious-sounding cake. Happy myself because I finally heard back from where I submitted the other week. It was rejected, but it just means I can get to work on my planned expansions of the piece and try again.
I'm happy, because I've just blogged my thoughts on US politics and the midterm election on my external blog Now to sit back, and wait for the complaints to roll in
I'm so very happy, because I had an enjoyable shift at work last night. I'm also so very happy because my nanowrimo count is at 2,122 words, and counting. I did almost not outlining except for a speedy info dump Sunday night, and then I wrote a little Monday morning. My novel is coming along much better than I expected.
Read it. Because even though we dont necessarily agree on everything (although when it comes to American politics, perhaps a bit more in common!), I do think it's necessary (and sometimes enjoyable) to hear what non-Americans have to say about our politics. While of course everyone has a bias, at least someone from another country might not feel as much of an impulse to directly lie to the ignorant chunk of the American public in order to garner a few more votes. Plus you seem to be pretty well-informed yourself. I'm impressed! I know the general structure of England's governmental system and a few prominant figureheads (as well as for a few other prominant Western European countries'), but that's really about it... and I dont know much about the party system or how politics are conducted anywhere outside of America. To my defense it's not because I'm uninterested; it's because politicians act as if this is a game, and it's all about winning... when it should be about the people; they play this game with no regards to the lives of who it affects, and it turns me into a massive squid of anger. I try to make well-informed decisions, but I can only gather so much information in a time frame without ruining my day. I made a stupid mistake and unfortunately cannot vote in this year's midterm elections. I am registered to vote and have excercised my right in the past, but now that I'm living a new district, I forgot that I would have had to have registered to fill out an absentee ballot over a week ago. In order to vote I would have to drive back to my hometown about two hours away. With no car and classes later this evening, there's no chance of that happening. Dammit. I asked Dad not to vote; since we vote oppositely on virtually every candidate and proposition, perhaps we could balance each other out. In the end though I suppose my vote in either district wont have much influence. In a college town, it's a given that the more liberal candidates will win by landslides and in my hometown, it's a given that the conservative candidates will win by landslides, as they always have.
I'm finally getting an external CD drive for my still-sick netbook. This is great. Also, my music tastes have changed immensely since I was last able to add music to iTunes without great deal of difficulty, and so I'm being positive and using this wiping of my computer to add all the new music I like to my iTunes.
