I've been in Newcastle today, getting the house ready to move into on Wednesday. It's all spick and span ready for me to walk in after my 120-mile journey and collapse on my bed. Can't help but be happy about it
I am happy because Dan had a wonderful fathers day yesterday and today he has work again, which put him in a lovely mood. YAY! Yesterday he had drinks with my father as he couldn't with his, and we all had a really great time (even though my mood sucked). Today I am off for a walk to take the boy to school and then I am going to my parents and going to play the Wii for a few hours. Gotta have something to do And I was able to finally post a pregnant belly pic in the photo thread! lol! I'm huge compared to the last two pregnancies, but not very huge...
Glad everyone is having funtastic days of late. Tor, I cant see your photo in the Pic thread though! *cry* I'm in a good mood because I had some family over tonight for a barbeque... love my extended family. I'm also in a chipper mood because tomorrow Mom and I are taking advantage of Labor Day sales and stocking up on college things --since most people already are in school, they should already be discounted, and Labor Day on top of it? Pounce! Anyone have any suggestions as to what I should bring that wouldnt immediately occur to me? Kenyon requires you room on campus all four years, and IU requires you stay in a dorm your frosh year, so I'm primarily shopping for bedroom and kitchen stuff. I'm tallying up a list now.
Don't forget to personalize the room! Posters, pictures......family and friends' pictures on the walls (easily removable) will brighten up the place a lot.
I had a friend who asked all of her friends to make her something-a little collage, a poem written on a piece of construction paper, anything-and she put those up on her wall instead of regular posters. I loved the idea. Kind of made me wish I'd lived in a dorm while I was in college.
I added it to my forum photo album and have that set so only friends can view my photos. Sorry Merc. I added you as a friend to make up for it. (I am sorry darl, I thought you was a WF friend tbh)
I just found out that I was right and there is more money in my checking than I thought! Woot! Oh and Lt. Tingles is still my favorite.
That's always a pleasant surprise. And I'm glad you could read it! I made it late last night, and I was like bah, it's tiny...I'm too tired to fix it right now... I saw all the conversation in the tavern about badges, and I had to give it a go.
Just got my new shelves They have 42 books on - and by curious coincidence the forty-second book I put on was Life, the Universe and Everything. As this is in my little alcove, I hope for startling revelations regarding rice pudding before long.
Dante, I'm so very jealous of your shelves! I need some...but I don't really have room for them anywhere.
I saw this picture this morning, and it made me smile. It's a Crimson Rosella nibbling on flower blossoms in Canberra, Australia. The red & blue feathers are stunning.
Just seen District 9. Pretty good, I have to admit. I would see it again without question. Acting's good, plot's good, effects are fantastic and the dialogue is very good. Spoiler My only problem is there is a lot of... not so much gore, but same sort of thing really. I understand it's trying to be realistic but sometimes it just starts to get comic-y. And the amount of times people explode is a tad ridiculous. It's like everyone in South Africa spontaniously combusts when they get so much as breathed on.
I am happy because I had a great vacation, reconnected with some old friends, and make some new, seriously awesome ones. (Plus the badges!)
Goin' to X-FEST this Saturday! My favourite band's gonna be there! An uber-great friend is gonna be with me! Buyin' tickets tonight! We were iffy about going because she got in trouble, but we are 100% going, and I am happyhappyhappyhappyhappy about it!!!!
I am happy for Dan who is getting regular work at the school at the moment. It seems to have helped cheer him up lately, so I am happy for him. It's nice to see him smiling more and stressing a little less.
That takes a big load off your shoulders, Sherie, yes? Quite apart from being happy for Dan for Dan's sake, I'm sure it'a a relief to not have to need to be a rock. You both deserve this chance to catch your breath.
