    Uiron and Orielle

'I DON'T CARE IF YOU HAVE ANYWHERE ELSE TO GO OR PEOPLE TO MEET. ALL I CARE ABOUT IS THAT BOY'S SAFETY. SO GET ON YOUR WAY, UNLESS YOU WANT TO HAVE A LITTLE DANCE.'

Uiron stood there allowing his cape to be rustled in the wind. It flew almost as uneasily as his nerves were. His fist tightened and he looked the Sanhedrin directly in the face and dug his nails into the skin of his clenched fist. He was trying really hard not to start a scene, though she was hindering his information, yet he didn't really need it.

"You understand I could hit you so hard that you would appear on the other side of the planet, yet I have no intention of doing that. Seeing as how I am here for peace. Orielle, are you prepared to depart or would you rather take care of this yourself?" Uiron said in a deep and threatening voice then asked his sister in low tone.

"Stop it, please stop it !" The pitiful voice of Oliver interrupted, shoving into Uiron before Orielle could respond. Orielle sighed, shaking her head.

"I'm afraid this can't be stopped, Oliver dear. Such is the consequence of mistakes." she replied coldly.

Deep inside, her warrior spirit screamed at being falsely accused. Although years ago, she had learned to keep tight hold on her emotions.

Taking a step closer, Orielle nodded towards the Sanhedrin. "If it's a fight you want; a fight you will get. But, I think that would be foolish on my part as this whole situation is a confusing misunderstanding. The boy lied, will not give us answers on why he brought us here; and now you Miss have conveniently come to his rescue. Strange, isn't it?" Orielle turned to Uiron. "I believe we've been staged."

Uiron looked back at Orielle. "I believe the best notion is to depart from here as swiftly as possible. And also get Oliver back to where he is from. I am getting the vibe he must be of some importance based on the Isthus girl's hints and how much this one cares for him." Uiron said, looking at the Sanhedrin.

Aurora's words proved this true, as they heard a 'Lord Douway'. Giving another sigh, Orielle complied to the girl's wishes. "Very well, we shall depart as we have business to attend. But know that this will not be forgotten..." She said, sending a look in the direction of the cloaked woman.

"What is it you call yourself again Malief? Number one? Pardon me, the number one?" Malief had hardly heard the quip with his white eyes firmly stuck on his new assistant. But he had heard it.

Silence you fool!” His voice was hard and his stare never faltered from Seven. How could this be? Beads of sweat furrowed down his brow and he couldn’t help but notice the dazzling bow wrapped over their shoulder.

“You like it, Malief?” Seven said following his gaze. “She’s called Firehawk.” The name was fitting with its colourful blaze of orange and yellow matching the armour. “Now, let’s press onwards.”

“I’m not going anywhere with you.” David whimpered.

“Do you fear me little Lord?” The smallest chirp of concern in Seven’s voice cracked through the helmet’s voice box. But that soon vanished entirely. “…because you should.” Malief had never seen David so small, cowering behind the fabric of Ajax’s clothes. But that same insignificance was welling in the pit of his stomach and he could only imagine the terrifying outcomes of Seven’s presence.

“Get on. Now.” Seven growled. The heir of Douway looked to Malief for assurance and he in turn gave back a slow nod. It did not fill the boy with hope. Seven was already standing in the transport waiting, and David and Malief quickly joined them.

“I said get on.” Seven said to Ajax. “Either you get on now, or you get the next one.”

Riviera stood in silence for a while, staring at the Isthus pair and then at the so-called heroic young lord, jumping in the line of fire to stop a fight from breaking out. If she had lips there would be a small smile on it. She didn't expect timid Oliver to stand up like that; she hadn't expected him to remember the Sanhedrin bodyguard that was at Lady Jessica's side during a business meeting between the two families. Her eyes went back to the Isthus man, and this time she decided to 'speak' up.

"Big words from a man such as yourself. And here I was, thinking I've seen it all. I guess there's always a first time for everything, even funny jokes," she said without a hint of derision. Then she turned to the Isthus woman, the one who had heaps more reason than the man. "Orielle, right? Well, thank you for being polite and understanding. Now I admit I may have acted rashly, but truthfully I haven't seen this boy before. I'm just a kind stranger passing by, totally not an expert in schemes or plots or conspiracies.

"I see you threatening a boy who made a little mistake - or at least, I assume he did. I don't care about the circumstances; what I see is what I get," Riviera said, conveniently shattering the mystique typical of a Sanhedrin. "And I'm looking forward to meeting you again, Miss Orielle. I would very much like to spar with you, maybe do a bit of cultural exchange while we're at it."

The girl then walked over to the limp Oliver and his Isthus guardian, quick yet gentle steps made effortless by her natural grace. She lowered her hood, letting the silvery locks flow down her head. By human standards, Riviera had the face of a child blessed with innocent beauty. If she had lips, it would've made the image better. "I believe you mentioned something about a ship," she said to the guardian. "Perhaps you two will be heading to the spacedocks, no? If it isn't too much trouble, may I accompany the two of you? I am searching for my Lady, and I need to gather information. I figured there would be a good place to start."

'That, and I need a ship if what I've been hearing about a lockdown is true,' Riviera thought. Her eyes subconsciously studied the guardian, the stance, the expressions, the way she handled the young lord. 'She feels... different somehow. And probably strong, if she could disorient little Oliver that easily. I should be wary around her.'

Uiron looked back at the woman and watched her as she walked over to Lord Douway. He was unsettled, he might have also acted a little rash, he hadn't gotten into a fight against someone besides his sister in years. Since she was his bodyguard.

Uiron looked sympathetically at the Sanhedrin and then to Oliver. "I apologize, Sanhedrin woman. I should not have approached you like such. I was also being rash, I hope you have a good day and I hope to see you once again for a spare, out of fun, though." he told her in a low and gentle voice then he turned to Oliver with his eyes locked on him. "Oliver. It is not a good quality to lie. Whoever put you up to this, be careful with them. They could be meaning to get you in some trouble, know who to trust and who not to. I am positive I will see you again, Lord Douway."

    Oliver Douway

Oliver felt bubbly. Yes, that was the only word that came to his mind. It hovered through his mind, filling it with calm. The calm sprouted through his veins, into his limbs. The plane of the world seemed to spin and turn, assuming all sorts of odd angles. If it hadn't been for the bannisters that were Aurora's arms, he'd surely fallen onto the ground, resting on it's wavy surface.

The muffled sound of voices hit his ears, but they were distorted, and Oliver could barely make out the endless stream of words that assailed him. Every time he blinked it became harder to reopen his eyes, his bodily weight seemed to increase, dragging him down to the ground. He could make out the face of the Sanhedrin woman, every feature as sharp as ever. Yet, her silvery hair and mouthless face didn't register in his mind, every passing moment seemed like a constant, buzzing, everlasting now, unable to reflect on the past or prepare for the future.

"What did you, who..." lisped Oliver, his eyes rolled skywards, he slithered in Aurora's grip, his gaze finally finding the girl's face. "What...did...you...do?"

It took minutes for the words to form in his head, hours for them to reach his tongue and decades still before he had pronounced them. He heard his name, several times, but he could not bring up the strength to turn his head around and look. Instead, he dropped his entire weight into Aurora's hands, his back leaning against her belly, his head nid-nodding and his chin tapping against his chest.

"I suppose so, but i cannot guarantee that Lord David would be pleased." Aurora responded, trying to keep Oliver from panicking by running her hand over his head in a regular motion that would give him at least something to keep focused on.

"I balance-nulled you. And my apologies, my lord, but what if one of them had turned on you and hurt you? I have taken it upon myself to protect you, so that's that." she said, slowly and carefully, focusing her mind and helping him hear her words as she walked back towards the docks, the Sanhedrin following behind. Looking over at Riviera, she smiled. My name is Aurora. she said, speaking through the Flow yet again so the young woman would not have to strain to form words.

"And it should wear off soon, Oliver. I only gave you a tap, so you should feel fine in another minute or two. Just so you know, the effects are because your body is reacting to the lack of Flow around you. I took away some of it to cause your reaction. I can also make you deaf, or blind. Other than that, i still have yet to learn new skills."

    Oliver Douway

When his mind had cleared he casted a questioning glance at Aurora. "It doesn't hurt, by why did you do it?" The effect began to wear off, his legs felt like dead weight, save for the tickling sensation in them. He still ocassionaly bumped into Aurora, unable to stay on his feet by himself. He wondered how what Aurora had done was protecting him. He'd never realized tickling could make someone feel so sleepy, let alone keep them safe. It had all been a bit of sillyness, the adults scuffing at each other, they weren't so different from children at all, Oliver concluded. He slowed down a bit, letting the Sanhedrin woman catch up with them. Mother would've insisted he'd thank the lady first, but gratitude could wait. Oliver looked at Riviera, a curious sparkle brightened his eyes. "Who are you?"

A breeze of suprise gusted through his chest at noticing that the woman had no mouth. He disregarded his manners and began to bombar the woman with questions. "How do you talk without a mouth? Why are you so short? Have you ever met-" Oliver stopped, a heat rushed to his face, he smiled briefly, hiding his teeth behind the curling of his lips. A still quietness overtook his senses, he stepped a little closer to Aurora, half-hiding himself from Riviera's sight. Something began to gnaw at his innards, chewing at his bones. His smile faded, "I am sorry," he muttered to neither Aurora or Riviera in particular. His belly made a slight jump, he had been told to lie by one adult and told not to by the other. "I am sorry that I didn't lie to them...and I am sorry I did." A slight space opened between his lips, his nostrils widened, but the fresh air did nothing to wash away the guilt that was building up inside of him. One way or another he'd dissapointed someone and he hated it.

    Ajax

“I said get on.” Seven said to Ajax. “Either you get on now, or you get the next one.”

Ajax turned his head sideways and shrugged. "You were told to get five people out. There are only two aboard. Sorry, doesn't add up," said Ajax. He stepped into the vehicle with one foot and rested the other outside. "We wait. There is alot of red-coats here you know." Ajax paused for a moment, he raised his hand when Seven was about to reply. "Let's see, I think you are kidnapping Lord Douway here, and poor innocent Lord Malief. So, unless you wan't to test that fancy suit of yours, we wait."

    Orielle and Uiron

With all resolved, Orielle turned on her heel in the opposite direction of the Sanhedrin, Isthus, and young Lord who had delayed their travels. Although her face had portrayed nothing more than a polite smile, annoyance lingered. Being lied to, questioned, and nearly threatened in mere minutes was something to put Orielle in a fowl mood.

Being in Coranum had already proved difficult and for the moment, she began to doubt if she should had come at all. Her steps grew heavier as she walked, not bothering to see if Uiron was beside her or where she was going. Without an audience, Orielle gave up on hiding emotion. The Flow trickled down from her fingertips to her metal staff, giving off an eerie blue glow. Energy crawled and sparks ignited, jumping from one metal prong to the other.

"That was ridiculous!" Orielle fumed. "To be treated as such and turned away, answers overshadowed by apology. Well, I do believe that boy was up to more than what appeared on the surface. These are desperate times, I must say. The races of mankind are declining indeed!"

Uiron watched both 'groups' walk off in opposite directions. Uiron watched his adopted sister walk down the street in the opposite direction of the docking station. He walked slowly behind her, his foot pacing hers, though as she flipped out he hustled his way towards Orielle.

"Calm yourself, dear sister. Yes, we may have been disrespected, though we are people also. We are just as them, if we had no idea who any others were, we would have took the same measures. I know you feel displeased, but if we make our way to the Temple, we can change something." he said reassuringly.

"If the other Houses are as stubborn as that peculiar Sanhedrin, change may not come easy, Uiron." Orielle said, her tone dark as she kept hold on her Flow. "Another war may be upon us."

Uiron walked up to his sister and put a hand on her shoulder and gave her a sympathetic look. "No one said peace would be easy." Uiron said lowly.

Orielle remained silent for a moment, the truth of his words placing another doubt in her mind. "Brother...if the ones we encounter do not oblige to peace, what then? As we know, peace cannot be forced."

Uiron looked back at her and sighed. "You worry too much." He turned and signaled for the two to go back to the dock.

Orielle scowled as she followed behind Uiron. "I'm not worried, I was being logical! And I'm going to be logical again. It has been quite some time, do you think our real escorts have waited on us? If not, we will certainly be in another rut."

He turned to his sister and was quite annoyed at her persistence. Yes, she was looking ahead, but she was complaining. "Calm yourself!" Uiron yelled at her in a commanding tone. They may have been siblings, but he was still her Lord.

Orielle blinked in return, surprised at the sudden outburst. "You're right, I should keep my thoughts to myself. Sorry to bother you, Uiron." she replied, anger prominent in her voice. Walking ahead of him, she gritted her teeth. If he didn't want her voice of reason, then fine. Orielle could only hope that their trip to join their escorts would not be in vain.

Uiron frowned as his sister went ahead of him. He hated having to talk to her like such, but she was too worried. All the hope had seemed to disappear and the anger had changed her attitude. When did she grow such a temper? She didn't have it when they first met.

It was good that a fight was avoided, but the warrior spirit in Riviera felt strongly disappointed. The silver Tsukikanade seemed to whisper to her, telling of their power, the strength of the Isthus siblings. Only the urgent purpose of protecting Lady Vandemir stopped her from jumping into the air to confront the two and spar with them. She was already glad for the perfect excuse to get to the spacedocks - and chance a ride on a ship if need be. Besides, she had two rather interesting companions with her, even if one of them was barely standing up and walking.

'That's very considerate of you, Miss Aurora, talking to me telepathically,' Riviera said, emulating a smile by sending an image of ruby red lips curled up in mirth. 'Frankly, I find you interesting, in a totally non-romantic way. You have a unique way of using the Flow, just like what you did with young Oliver here. I'd like to talk to you about it sometime.'

    "Who are you?"

Her attention turned to the young lord, sensing the curiosity he had for her. 'Yes! This is exactly the kind of thing that I want to see everywhere! Now, to do some cultural exchange~' she thought happily, her eyes crinkling to show it. And she wasn't disappointed when Oliver asked her about the lips. She actually thought of 'kissing' him just to see what his reaction would be. But then he asked about her height. She had to remember Lady Vandemir again to keep her slightly glimmering runes in check.

She was about to answer when she sensed a disturbance in the Flow within Oliver. Well, not exactly, but she knew enough to see when a person was troubled about something. The young girl matched her pace with the boy, looking him over with soft eyes. She gently brought his face closer, and leaned her forehead against his. Using the Flow, she projected images of kitty cats lounging about on a soft, white bed of clouds. It wasn't exactly the best calming image, but she liked cats and she was too lazy to think of anything else.

This might be just another way for her to break the people's misconceptions of Sanhedrin, but at least it coincided with her beliefs.

    Oliver Douway

They were very near the docks now, the control tower stood like a needle, watching over the surrounding bays, checking every flight. Even now that nothing was arriving or departing, the buzz of traffic still hammered through the air. The clatter of boots dominated the chaotic orchestra, the rustling of red cloaks following suite. Oliver gawked at the structure, he tried to imagine what it'd be like to stand atop of the tower and have the wind blow his hair, or how long it would take for him to run up and down the steps. Lost in daydreams, Oliver flinched when the Sanhedrin approached him. He took a step backward but Riviera was quicker. A shiver shot down his spine as The Flow trickled through his veins. He could see small kittens, some where darting about, others were purring happily upon their puffy, white cushions.

He chukled at the image that the Sanhedrin projected onto his mind's eye. Then it turned sour, the gentle tingle turned into a nasty sting. Oliver shook his head, the sensation faded. It almost felt as if his body was rejecting the flow, as if it were a disease that intoxicated him. Darker thoughts clouded over his mind, he wondered why everyone felt the need to take care of him. He couldn't decide if he was happy for it or if he should feel threatened by it. Then there was Uiron and his sister, a mixture of ice and fire took foothold in his stomach. He'd seen the look in Orielle's eyes, he'd seen the flashes of anger in Uiron, they had some right to be angry with him, but why they had to extend their fury to complete strangers was beyond Oliver.

Uiron seemed a very ill-tempered sort of person, easily angered, his sister had shown some understanding but there had been an air of superiority about the two that made Oliver cringe. He wondered how the child-king and his sister would've treated him if he hadn't been a Douway. Probably worse, he concluded. His heart skipped a beat as his awareness kicked back into action. He stepped away from the Sanhedrin, his heart was still calm and at ease, but his face betrayed worry. Then, a glint of mischief washed over his eyes, a slanted frown digged into his features. "Is it a custom for women to touch strangers?" He adressed both Aurora and Riviera, his eyes darting between the two, waiting to see who'd be the first to answer. He wondered what about him attracted so much despise and indifference from his brother, yet so much love and care from complete strangers.

"Is it a custom for women to touch strangers?"

The young girl chuckled, a delightful tingle that ringed in the air around her. A few passers-by turned their heads at the gentle sound, surprised to see a dark-clothed Sanhedrin instead. "A custom, you ask? Not really, young Oliver. I felt that you needed something to ease you from your troubles, and so I sent you cats," she said, not bothering to use telepathy. "Would you rather have natural scenery instead? I'm pretty sure I can do a grassland with grazing horses... being chased by tigers.

"But since I'm here I might as well ask you two something," Riviera's tone turned serious; slightly desperate, even. She tuned the Flow, turning on her telepathy. She didn't want to have any enemies of House Vandemir to know her affiliation with the family. 'Have you heard any news of Lady Jessica Vandemir? Her status? Her whereabouts? Anything?' she asked both of them.

Oliver casted a sideway glance at Aurora, then he realized he might know more then she did on the matter. His face mirrored Riviera's, he let out a sigh, his eyes tried to dig into her soul. Why was she asking this? Had the Imperium missed something? "The Vandemirs are dead," said Oliver. His jaw loosened and another bubble of air escaped his mouth. The scowl of a passer-by informed him how odd it must've looked. He could hear Riviera loud and clear, but since Oliver wasn't trained in using the flow, he could not talk back in a similar fashion. People must think me mad, Oliver thought to himself. He stepped in line with Riviera. "The Imperium blitzed their capital, mom said nothing had been left standing, she has been very stressed and nervous ever since, more so than usual," whispered Oliver. "I-" Oliver caught his breath, he shouldn't talk about such matters to strangers. "Never mind," he muttered before distancing himself from Riviera again. In the distance he could make out Ajax, he appeared to be standing inside a ship. Oliver's eyes were good enough to see the frantic gesturing of Ajax for him to hurry. Oliver glanced over his shoulder, towards Aurora and Riviera. "Hurry up!"

She followed after Oliver amicably, casting a worried glance at Riviera. I myself have not known many people whom i could miss. I used to be a servant to Lord Sorven, but Oliver helped me escape when Sorven was going to take me to the Council on account of my- A vision ripped through Aurora's mind at that exact moment, and she gasped, clutching at her head. Unbeknownst to her, the mind link with Riviera still remained, showing the Sanhedrin everything that the young Isthus saw in her mind's eye:

Smoke billowed into the sky, the screams of thousands ringing in her ears as the ground shook, cracking in places. Fire consumed everything in it's path, and a shadow loomed above her, a deafening roar shaking even the stars.

The Scarlet Beast shall come, with Babylon on it's heels . . .

“Let’s see, I think you are kidnapping Lord Douway here, and poor innocent Lord Malief. So, unless you want to test that fancy suit of yours, we wait.”

“I couldn’t give two shits about your idle threats or pointless concerns.” Seven shook his head and stared through his visor at David. “I didn’t realise the Douway House hired such unintelligent individuals. As already stated I am Lord Malief’s steward, I am under his command and we are going to the meeting in Eldin, which the Jarn Household have organised.” Malief gave a another slow nod. Seven stared back to Ajax with the devilish glare of sun on his helmet. “And that foot placement is foolish. We are taking off regardless. All you had to do was babysit the Lord that is Oliver…” He pointed to the alleyway which had caused some commotion with the commoners. “…and currently you are failing that as well. This transport is for winners – so why don’t you get the next one.”

And with that Seven thumped the ship hull twice and the driver got the hint. The transport undocked from hangar XR-1B and the door closed, with or without Ajax’s foot in the way. The engines booted up and they were on their way flying through the afternoon Coranum skyline, disguised as a black police transport.

    Oliver

"Are you alri-" began Oliver, but his words were cut off by the deafening roar of engines blazing. A hot gust of wind followed suite, blowing his hair, Oliver blinked rapidly, trying to regain his sight. Every fibre in his body froze, they'd left without him. He blinked. Three flashes of light, accompanied by loud bangs hit his senses. He blinked once more, Ajax came into sight. The veins in the man's face as thick as roots, his brows knitted into a V. Oliver was confident that Ajax would've brought the plane down with the fury that radiated from his eyes, even through his goggles.

    Ajax

The warrior instinct kicked into action. Ajax had remained calm, he'd appeared the undisturbed, unphazed bodyguard just moments ago. The son of a bitch has guts, Ajax thought when he dove out. Already a plan had formed in his head, already he knew precisely what to do. The fact that he could make a choice between Oliver or David and The Virus only made things easier. He watched the plane depart, seven had called Ajax's wrath upon himself and, by extend, that of the Imperium, as Ajax was eager to demonstrate. He slid out his energy pistol and fired three shots at the departing plane. That should get the attention of the red-cloaks.

"They kidnapped Lord Douway!" he boomed. The Imperium didn't seem to be fond of the houses but surely, with the entire city in lockdown, they wouldn't let that slippery bastard Seven get away. And if they would, well, Ajax felt his flying skills were in dire need of practice.

"Ajax!" The bright, chimed voice of Oliver hit his ear. The young Lord came racing towards Ajax, the blue-haired girl and what appeared to be a Sanhedrin not far behind. "Ajax!" his voice called again, seconds later the boy skidded to a halt in front of the mercenary. Oliver was panting, his hair darkened with sweat, gluing itself together. "Why have they left?"

"It seems Malief's steward was in a rush," replied Ajax. Now all he could do was wait for the Imperium guards to launch a chase, if they didn't within five seconds Ajax would take matters into his own hands. But for now, he waited.

    Uiron and Orielle Nedrayur

Uiron looked at his sister then back up at the morning sky. The sky shimmered blue as it did earlier. A breeze settled in the air, and brushed its way through his hair. His dark eyes showed understanding. Orielle and he had been through many hard times. The War was one, but he never considered the war as the most tragic event. To him, it was always the murder of his parents. Orielle had been upset lately, and Uiron had no idea why. Maybe it was just the Sanhedrin, or maybe something else. She seemed to angry for it to just be that, yet he was a bit too hyper also. Was it the visions she had been having for a long time. He put his one hand through his hair as he continued waking towards the docking area.

The docking was within view, it seemed the young lord had already made his way with his 'companions'. Was he also too harsh on the boy? Uiron had this thought constantly repeat in his head. He had been uneasy lately, he knew something was coming. Was it the constant reminder of the apocalypse? But that never stresses him out when he is at Soyenus's Suvos Mactan Temples. He was always hearing of Impending Doom, or rather a coming event of mass destruction. Though, why would he suddenly get visions of the night of his parent's killing? He looked over to his beautiful sister, she looked covered in despair, or anger. It was hard to tell. Uiron felt the area where his other arm should be, what was he doing on Surmamack? Chasing a dream?

He began to walk over to his sister in a very slow motion and grabbed her hand as he did when they first departed from their ship.

Orielle shrugged her hand away. "Leave me be, Uiron." she muttered as she kept her gaze on the ground before her. "All I want is to get where we need to go."

At the sudden rebel against his touch, he knew it was time he treated his little sister as a loved one. As she pulled away he put his arm on her shoulder and pulled her, so that she faced him. Then he used the Flow to manifest a second arm and hugged her with both. "I know you are stressed. Just relax." he said lowly.

In Uiron's warm embrace, Orielle stood still and couldn't bring herself to hug him back. "It's hard to be relaxed in this city, brother. It's almost painful." she whispered. "Perhaps I shouldn't have come afterall."

Uiron looked into her eyes once again. "I know you do not have the fondest memories of this planet. Yet, it brought us together. You must thank it for that. I wish you to be still, we are here for our people, for the entire universe." Uiron said in a low voice to his sister.

"If only you'd understand that I wish I could be still too!" Orielle rasped, her eyes betraying their usual mirth. "But it is difficult when all we've been doing since stepping foot on Coranum is wait and argue! If our being here is so important, then how are we running into such problems, Uiron? Is some dark force against us?"

"You must understand, that without help of the people we are nothing! No matter how much of 'royalty' we are! We must wait for the High Priestess, we are not the natives. And if we are gonna help the people we need to gain their trusts!" he yelled back at his sister.

Orielle sighed. "I know all of this, brother! But don't you believe we can only depend on others to an extent? If we allow certain people to intervene in our work...that may not be wise. Some opinions of the Houses differ greatly from our views, we may have an even worse time than with that Sanhedrin. We must be careful."

"Which is exactly why we must not be as hasty next time." Uiron said to her. "We must be fully capable of withholding our point without causing physical conflict." he continued.

Orielle nodded, the tension in her shoulders relaxing for the moment. "Yes, I agree." she replied. "Despite what others might think of us, we must remember who we are and what we stand for." As she looked at Uiron, her expression grew soft. "I do apologize for letting the situation affect me, brother. I don't want to be angry...or you to be either."

Uiron felt her muscles grow loose, they felt relaxed. He looked into her face, she was calm now. "I was never angry with you." he said holding her tight. Without their parents, he had been like a father to her.

Orielle's smile returned at his words. "And I wasn't truly angry with you. Well...I was annoyed, but I'm used to it." She laughed and broke their hug to give him a light punch on the arm. Afterwards, a rare look of respect came into her eyes. "Although I do not show it as often as you do to me, I love you Uiron." Orielle said softly.

He smiled back after rubbing his shoulder, and gave her a look of playfulness. "I love you too." he said boldly.

"Of course you do!" Orielle teased, breaking the tender moment. "Now, where is our escort? For all this time, Kalara must be wondering where we are." She turned around and took a step forward, hoping to catch a glimpse of a potential escort in the crowd.

    Equals on the Surface

The feedback from their still-active mind link made Riviera flinch, even if a little. The thoughts swirling inside Aurora flowed back into hers, and on instinct Riviera tried to counter-act it with a soothing wave of Flow energy. It made some of the runes underneath her bandages burn slightly, which was a relatively small price to pay given the pained expression on the Isthus' face. That soon became the least of her troubles when they all arrived at the spacedocks, and she felt a blast of hot air on her face accompanied by the roar of engines as one of the ships took off. It looked like a police cruiser, yet its flight patterns were somewhat erratic - a bit hurried, her instincts told her.

There was a moment after that of sudden internal silence, large enough to be filled by thoughts of her Lady and fear that Oliver's words might be true. She didn't want to believe it. Every fiber of her being resisted the simple notion of Lady Jessica falling into harm, or worse things. She almost desperately clung onto the words she heard back then, words telling her of the surviving Vandemir siblings. She would find them, no matter what she must do. That desperate fear, muddled in with Aurora's negative images, gave her the delightful idea of using air platforms to get to that departing ship and hijack it. But she still needed to find more information, and she was already in the place where she wanted to be in the first place. So she reined herself and her emotions in. The fact that she had to do this quite often was another factor that set her apart from most Sanhedrin, who preferred thinking and tactics over impulsive actions.

Besides, there was another Sanhedrin there, a male with a peculiar fashion sense. Something about him struck her immediately as strange - besides the goggles and red scarf. He just felt... different, enough that she slightly wanted to warn Oliver about approaching him. But apparently, they were acquainted so her worries were for naught. Tentatively she reached out to him with the Flow, crimson eyes locked onto his imposing figure.

'Greetings, brethren,' she said telepathically. 'My name is Riviera, daughter of Liguria. Due to certain circumstances, I've ended up as the young Lord's companion. I assure you, I mean no one any harm unless they decide to harm me first. I am just here to look for answers.

'Judging from your countenance, something must have happened here. If you are in need of help, I'd be happy to provide.'

The mental facepalm could be heard on the other side of the Construct. 'Curse you and your altruism, Riviera! Can't you see that the Lady is in dire need of help? Fine, fine... calm down, me. This is all part of my plan to gain favor. If I get acquainted with information banks, then I'll know where to start looking for my Lady. I don't care if that Oliver says they're all dead. My Lady is alive. She has to be.'

    Time to fly

“That blasted fool!” Seven hissed as the ship shook under the gunfire. The energy bolts scarred across the paint work with black char marks, narrowly missing the engines. The driver spun a little this way and that but he soon had it under control.

Seven walked over to the comms link and patched through to the Imperium Police secure line. “Base this is Police cruiser TA-5, come in.”

“This is base go ahead TA-5.”

“We have had shots fired at the West Coranum docking bay, hangar XR-1B. We would look into ourselves but we have an urgent VIP rendezvous to make.”

“Ten four, we will send a couple of cruisers to investigate.” Base replied.

“Roger that base, TA-5 out.” Seven smiled under his visor. If only they had just waited for the second transport, Seven mused to himself. They would have made it to the Jarn meeting as well but that seemed out the window now. From a distance Seven could see the flashing blue lights of two police cruisers darting between the skyscrapers, zipping towards the West Coranum docking bay.

“Your Combat Advisor is far too rash, David.” He said. The Lord just kept slumped in his metal seat, watching out as the transport headed for Eldin.

    Oliver & Ajax

"Guess they are feeling lazy today," stated Ajax. He brushed off some invisible dust, casually reloaded his gun and stared at the others. "Aurora, go home and take Oliver with you," said Ajax. The chaos seemed to sooth him, heighten his senses and increase his ability to think clearly rather than cloud it. "As for you," he stared at the Sanhedrin, "help is welcome but not required. There will only be one speed, my speed."

Oliver bounced his eyes between Aurora and Ajax, truly everything had gone sour now. His gaze settled on Ajax "Where are you going?" To Oliver's relief Ajax didn't feel the urge to pet Oliver, "I am going to get your brother back," said Ajax. He chuckled, "even if you don't want me to. Now go!" Oliver did as he was told and began to sprint away from the dock, back towards the embassy.

With that said all the calm faded, a frantic storm of adrenaline plowed through the air. Ajax sprinted towards the a sleek, white-and-blue reaver interceptor aeroplane. There were two seats, one driver and one gunner, "help is required," Ajax boomed over his shoulder towards Riviera. Oliver almost stopped, did Ajax plan to shoot his brother down? He casted the thought aside, Ajax would do no such thing and there was no point in running back. He didn't even look back to see if Aurora was following him. His heart throbbed in his throat, the wind soared down his lungs. His feet punched the ground relentlessly, he glanced around hoping not to find any red-cloaks on his path.

OOC Note: sorry for the double post but I felt this was deserving of a seperate post.

    Oliver Douway

Around a corner he went. Smoke stung his nostrils, dense puffs of black smoke clouded his sight. A hot gust of wind washed over him, billowing his hair and withering his eyes. He came to a halt, his mind desperately trying to wrap itself around the sight before him. Dust and rubble skidded down the street on the dry hot wind, a seething fire cracked and raged in the distance. Oliver’s pace was slow at first, paralyzed by disbelief, a voice called for him but he ignored it. His pace increased, his light feet tapping furiously on the scorched earth.

Crumbling walls loomed over him. Fiery-red tongues hissed through every crack, and flakes of ash danced around him like autumn leaves.

    “Mom?”

Oliver could hear shouts coming from behind, his vision narrowed, his throat dried up. “Mom?” he rasped, “Mom?” Through the front door he went, the wood-and-metal stood unhinged, leaning over like a tree in a storm. The roof was gone, a gaping hole ventured into the blackened sky. Paintings had been knocked off the walls, busts had been reduced to smithereens, the lionhead bannister had been blasted apart, and wooden shrapnel littered the steps.

“Mom!” shouted Oliver. He sprinted up the stairs, his throat clogged with ash and dust, he covered his mouth as he stormed towards his mother’s office. He jumped over a big, convulsing lump of black leather, bathing in a pool of red. “Mom!” Oliver kicked the door to her office open, the heat scorched his hair, his vision narrowed, the air thinned. Through the heat haze he could make out a figure, sprawled on the ground. He recognized the slender woman with long, wavy, auburn hair immediately. "Mom!"

Oliver rushed to Roselyn’s side. “Mom are you...” he croaked as he turned her over. Her face was deadly pale, a streak of red seeped from the corner of her mouth. “Mom…” cried Oliver, his vision blurred, the salty water trickled from his eyes and evaporated on his cheeks. Roselyn fluttered her eyes open to narrow slits, her ice cold hand grabbed Oliver’s. “Dear, sweet little Oliver, do you remember the way to the Ja-,” she coughed, her voice was as dry as a bone “to the Jarns?” Oliver clutched her hand firmly between his. “I g-gu-guess so,” sobbed Oliver, “but why, w-why do I h-have to know i-it you are going to b-be wi-with me…”

Roselyn’s eyes widened, she brought her free hand to Oliver’s face and stroked it with her thumb. The water that flooded down Oliver’s cheeks couldn’t wash away the sticky blood that glued his mother’s hand to his cheek. "I'll be with you, even if you can't see me," whispered Roselyn. A sparkle radiated from her eyes, her mouth opened "Ma-".

Her hand became limp and fell to the ground, the sparkle in her eyes faded, fire consumed her pupils. “Mother?” Oliver’s head landed on her chest, there was no reassuring beat drumming through her bosom, there was only cold, white skin and red, sticky blood. Oliver held onto his mother, his blood wept through his veins, the heat and smoke nearly smothered him. But Oliver didn't care, he wished the rapidly approaching footsteps would go away and leave him be, he wished the arm that wrapped itself around him to evaporate.

A strong arm yanked him away from his mother. Oliver resisted, he kicked his feet into the air and flailed his arms. He couldn’t see who dragged him away from the smoldering hell, all he could see was the fire consuming Roselyn Douway.

Cold stone stroked his back. Oliver’s eyes fluttered open, his mind drowsy. Muffled noises hit his ears, it had all been a bed dream, he must’ve missed something. Yes, he had fallen asleep to the side of the street…

Oliver glanced around, the muddy alleyway looked strangely familiar. Reality stabbed itself into his memory like a needle. He looked around, he wanted to call out for help, for someone to wake him up and tell him he’d been having a fever. But his tongue had glued itself to his palate, the scent of smoldering wood drifted upon a lazy, spring wind.

After the heart touching moment with his adopted sister. As they continued walking back to the docking station, it was quite quiet. They let there steps be the only thing heard. They were completely silent, yet there footsteps gave off sounds that were enhanced by the nearby alleyways. They observed the area, they had not been in Surmarack in a extended period of time, and yet it was somewhat familiar, for Orielle more so than Uiron. Though, Uiron did not act as he had never seen the place before, he remembered the difference in the sky on Surmarack.

Uiron had not been to Coranum many times, as a matter of fact it was only twice. One of those times was when he met Orielle, and only because his parents and he had been visiting the Suvos Mactan Temples. This is how he has any recollection of the High Priestess. He looked back up into the sky, and studied the clouds. They seemed more thick and large than that of Soyenus's. That planets clouds looked thinner and were usually shaped in swirls than that of clumps.

A sudden breeze swam through the air, through Uiron's hair and pushed his cape up lightly, revealing his heavily sculpted abs. It was actually quite cold outside, or at least too cold not to be wearing a shirt. Though, he was used to the cold. Having to sleep in the woods, in the middle of the night helped his body adjust. He has no trouble with a variation of temperatures.

After the breezed passed they were very close to the docking station, Uiron noticed that there were lights going of the top, and his sensitive ears could here many frantic sounds, not of many, just few. There sounded to be some sort of commotion.

"I think we may need to observe the situation." Uiron said to his sister.

    'Help is required.'

She didn't need to be told twice. Riviera quickly walked towards the Sanhedrin Warrior - the one called Ajax - and wondered how a simple girl like her would co-pilot a cruiser with him. It didn't really matter that she knew next-to-nothing about flying, but she could count on her weapon expertise to get her through. After all, what was a cruiser but a really, really large flying weapon?

'So what's the plan?' Riviera asked the warrior. 'Do we get to shoot something or rescue someone?'

    "Oliver!"

"Oliver!" Aurora shouted again as she came into the alley, then halted, eyes widening as she spotted him. Covered head to toe in soot, the poor boy looked like he had been crying his eyes out, and when he looked up at her, her heart broke as she looked up and saw the smoke trailing into the sky.

Fire. His home had been destroyed.

"Oh Oliver . . ." she rasped, stumbling over and kneeling next to him, then wrapping her arms around the shaking boy.

    Oliver

Oliver allowed himself to be wrapped in Aurora's arms. He could tell it was her by her distinct, caring voice. His frame trembled involuntarily, the plane of existance snapped out of reach of his senses. He felt only the stinging of his eyes and the warmth of Aurora's arms, sheated around him like a blanket. No thoughts came to his mind, merely fragments of words. Why? How? Who? These were the questions that haunted him, like ghosts he was aware of them yet incapable to spot them. His brither despised him, his mother had been killed just when he'd wanted to stay home the most. If only he'd stayed, if he'd been there then maybe this wouldn't have happened, maybe he would've been able to stop it. Fate seemed hellbent on saving him from himself, but what about those around him? He made up his mind, he couldn't allow to care for anyone anymore. For if he did, by some cruel twist of fate, they'd end up worse. He sobbed until his head became too heavy, too exhausted by the constant throbbing of his veins, his eyes couldn't sent forth anymore tears, the well of hope inside of him had runned dry. He looked up, his eyes smudged by the last two, thick drops that lingered there. "But why did she have to die?" he muttered.

"No one can explain why, Oliver. My parents died -that was how i ended up being stuck in Sorven's home. Even i cannot explain it." Aurora said gently, taking her sleeve and wiping his face off. Until Ajax came back, they were alone. For the first time, Aurora would have to care for someone without any means to do it.

Anger welled up in her as she thought about the fire. Someone had outright murdered his family. Careful to mask her face to keep Oliver from seeing the rage burning in her sea-green eyes, Aurora silently swore to herself that she would destroy whoever had been responsible.

"Let's go. We need to find a safe place until Ajax returns." she said, picking him up and carrying him out of the alleyway. Using the Flow, she turned them both invisible, so that the passerby -or any possible spies- may not spot them.
