"I am not a woman. at least not technically and I probebly fight better than you." Seven said a matter a factually, with a hint of teasing in her voice. Human kind can be so cute at times with their silly saying. She clenched her fists tighter, it was then it could be noticed that her for arms looked slightly different, she had up graded them. Her foe lunged for her bringing the sword down on her head, she raised her arm blocking the strike, the swerving on one foot threw a devastating blow to his gut. 10 energy
Xin: Level: 2 1/10 Xin couldn't help it, she hissed at the mention that a girl could not fight. Lip curling in a feral snarl, she drew both of her blades, the one in her left hand humming as the laser bounced back and forth along its blade. "Dare you to think that I am a helpless child needing defense?" she spat, clashing her sword together and sending sparks in the air, "Watch this!" Oxygen diverting to movement speed and power. Lower body musculature developing... the nanobots bleeped, and Xin's eyes glowed red as a target crossed her irises, following the draogn who bore the swordsman. "Whirlwind." Her body bunched beneath her, and as the dragon swooped in low, her swords slashed through the air five, six, seven, eight times before her legs tucked in and she rolled right down the beast's neck towards the rider. Muscle density increasing. the nanobots bleeped, and Xin suddenly felt her body gain around ten pounds. The extra weight could put the draogn off balance, and as she tumbled towards one side of the draogn's neck her blades lanced out towards the rider, blades gleaming like the fangs of a wolf clamping down on a deer's throat.
Eudoxia Level 2 Point Amount: 130 Eudoxia watched as Seven, Tina, Xin, and Mason all began to fight through the dragon riders, and also talk to the knights. As the knights began to try to stray the females off the battle field, Eudoxia cringed. He was almost worried about the knight who had suggested the idea. He looked at him and spoke, "Trust me, one of them has the strength of ten men! So, all of them, will be a trouble for the opposing side!" This he was sure of and preached to the knight. Eudoxia's MicroBots flew out of his pocket. He jumped high in the air. The MicroBots formed under him and made a digital, flat, pentagon. Since they're we're only five the structure would be weak, if it took any damage, his MicroBots would run out of energy and the pentagon would collapse. This is mainly because they had been used multiple times recently, all of them even the ones that broke were soon to be exhausted. He flew over to Seven's side. "Should I help you with him?" he asked. "He seems to have a sword that can actually hurt you, and it seems Xin has the Archer. And I think it would be best if Mason and Aren took the one with the spears since they are most long ranged." Edo informed and suggested. His purple eyes set on the dragons, these things would be fun to play with, and or dissect.
Mythai "Get back, M'lady! Go with Knight Harren. He'll lead you to safety." Mythai almost considered the Knight's suggestion...she was pretty close... But, she couldn't abandon her squad in the midst of battle. Mythai darted back and gazed wide-eyed at the extremity of the dragon's size, not to mention the heat. Quickly, she pulled out a stun grenade and threw it hard at the spearsman, hoping to provide a handicap. That is, if it reached. "You aren't the only one with fire!" Mythai yelled before she dodged to the side.
Aren Now this was a fight he could deal with. Aren lifted his sniper and leveled it on one of the still airborne dragons, aiming for the rider. He squeezed the trigger, and felt the rifle buck as the projectile left the barrel. They made energy sniper rifles, but he'd never felt right firing one, it didn't have a buck to it, and he felt like when you fired something with that much destructive power, you should be able to feel it. Then he leveled the gun at the grounded spear wielding rider that was going after Mythai and fired.
The swordsman doubled over and then was thrown across the grass as Seven's blow landed. He blew a small trumpet like item hanging around his neck and his dragon jumped to it's feet covering Seven in hot flames. The dragon Xin landed on let out a trumpeting cry and banked unbiddenly as he was suddenly weighed down. The Archer was thrown off balance and lay against the dragon's neck, just as Xin's swords whistled over his head. He grabbed an arrow out of his quiver and jab it into Xin's side. Not deep, but enough that it stuck. The Archer jabbed his heels into the dragon's side commanding it to do a barrel roll midair causing Xin to fall to the ground. The shot Aren took, flew by not harming either of them. The Spearman was knocked off his dragon from the force of the grenade. As he rolled to the ground his Dragon took off towards the mountains as fast as he could go. "Get back here!" The spearman screamed shaking his fist at his idiotic dragon. Before he had a chance to blow on the small trumpet around his neck, a shot from Aren sent him reeling back and clutching his shoulder. The Spearman glared at Aren and with his good arm, hefted up a spear and threw it at him. Aren managed to shift out of the way but the spear still grazed him in the side.
Aren "Uh uhn," Aren said looking at his arm. Then he released a protector drone. It's shield should be plenty strong enough to deflect a spear. How did that guy even throw it that far? he wondered. But not for long because he had again raised his rifle and fire another shot, aiming for center mass. Then he threw one of his new Slow Grenades. This would be the test of his Torris add-on, the field was large enough that it should work on the swordsman and the spearman. Maybe not the archer who was still in the air, but the other two. "If anyone starts to feel queasy and... not entirely aware of their present surroundings, or they feel like their brains are slowly dying, I genuinely apologize and will fix it afterward!" he shouted as he threw the grenade. It landed near the Spearman, but instead of exploding it unfolded and started making a high pitched whine and cast a blueish light over everything.
Seven switched to her scanners allowing her to detect the enemy through the flames, she charged forward taking advantage of the slowing effects of the torris. A bolt of lightning crashed into the enemy, but it was only meant to stun. At that moment Seven took the opportunity, charging in she pulled back her arm and with all her power twisted her body and brought her fist crashing into his rib cage. (Punch large attack 30% 10 battery power for the stun)
Xin: 85% Level: 2.02 Xin grunted as she landed heavilly, but rolled to avoid aggravating the arrow wound in her side. Hissing in pain and resisting the urge to rip it out, she sheathed both swords and took out her stun gun, shooting at the dragons randomly while running towards Myth. "Mythai!" she called, giving the medic a heads-up.
Eudoxia Level 2 Point Amount: 130 Eudoxia looked around the battlefield seeing as how his team was handling the current situation. He had no worries and had only complete trust in his comrades. Seven had ignored his request so he decided for the MicroBots to fly back into his pocket. He then fell about seven feet from the air to the ground without feeling any pain. As that was done, he looked around. He saw that Myth might have needed help, then Xin intervened, plus he knew Myth could handle herself. So, he decided to sit in the place he loved most, the middle of this vast field. He was happy immediately. He was glad he was able to enjoy himself, even though everyone else was caught up in battle. They were all so caught up in battle, they probably had no idea what the breeze, that pushed his hair, felt like. It was cooling, he almost got the feeling to take off his shirt and just feel the breeze, but that would be inappropriate given the circumstances. He would probably get a hell hound bark of a scolding from his commander, but he saw no wrong, seeing as how he wasn't needed. Only thing that he had a gripe against was the heat coming from the battle.
Adwaita Adwaita was thinking about how Seven could say "life is fragile" when she had never displayed any humanity before, except maybe towards Eudoxia, when they came across the Dragon Raiders. Eudoxia seemed to give up and go sit in a field of grass. Adwaita would have loved to do the same, but she was afraid Commander Tina would give her a lengthy lecture. So instead, she stood near the battle, looking for an opening. "Any body want a piece a this? Huh?" Adwaita jumped from foot to foot, her splayed hands in front of her, ready to Freeze any projectiles. If they didn't take the bait, then she would go on the offense.
The Swordsman and spearman suddenly found themselves in a field that slowed all their functions. "What type of scorcery is that!?" One of the knights exclaimed. The swordsman fell to the ground as Seven lay a painful punch into his ribs. His dragon, having been given the order to attack, swung his tail at Seven to give his master time to recover. The Spearman's dragon was pelted with stung bullets from Xin. None peirced his ironhard scales, but it did work to attract his attention. He took flight, preparing to pounce on her like a cat would. "Eudoxia." The Commander yelled at him. "What the hell you think you're doing sitting in the middle of a battle field? Watch our backs." The archer and his dragon came full circle. The dragon flew close to the ground and released a torrent of flame towards Seven, Eudoxia, and Adwatia.
Aren Using their slowed condition, Aren and loaded a clip of Disruptor bullets into his rifle. They were high tech rounds, charged with a particle field that nullified normal energy barriers and disintegrated heavy armor, making them the perfect piercing round. He lined up a shot at the Archer as he flew over, taking a moment to line up the shot, accounting for it's speed and the breeze. Then, taking a breath, he pulled the trigger, confident that his shot would find it's mark. (Disruptor Bullet, Critical Shot, Small and Normal)
Eudoxia Level 2 Point Amount: 130 Eudoxia sighed at the sound of his commander scolding him. Though, he knew that it was inevitable. He jumped up and using his Speed Enhancement chip to quickly grab Seven and Adwaita and pull them close to himself. He didn't necessarily know if Adwaita could freeze fire but he wasn't gonna wait to find out. After pulling them both near him, he pulled out his digital shield quickly. It covered all three of them since they were right behind him. The shield took 25% damage, another hit like that and it would need to recharge. This fire was way more damaging than that he had ever encountered. Usually fire would only do about 10%. He looked at his Commander and said, "Yes, Sir!" mockingly, trying to show he wasn't unprepared for an attack. He then watched as Aren got back into the action and was aiming at the Archer who had been flying the dragon that had attacked him. He would have helped, but his MicroBots could help, and no one else was grounded or in close range for him to attack. Unless. He charged up his Funnel Glove for a full attack. He sent a mini tornado into the middle of the three dragons, or at least as close to the middle as he could since they were fairly separated. It wouldn't hit them, but it would mess up the direction their dragons were flying in. Making it harder for them to fly around freely. One Large Attack Used: 30% Damage Rate
Xin: Level: 2.02 Xin crouched, eyes widening as the dragon circled above her, casting it shadow over her suddenly tiny frame. For a split second terror crossed her face, blood trickling down the arrow that had been stabbed into her side, and then it took control. Adrenaline released. Oxygen diverting to movement speed. Power at 50% and rising . . .the nanobots bleeped, only the tone had somehow deepened, and Xin could feel them crawling beneath her skin, positioning and pulling at her taut muscles until her body gave in to its commands while her brain remained frozen. In one unnaturally smooth movement, she flicked her sword tips up, spreading her feet and crouching as she watched the dragon swoop low, fire billowing from its mouth. Mythai was behind her, the M.A. standing her ground between the dragon and the medic as if nothing else was going on around her. Power at 100%. Xin leapt, the dragon bearing down upon them. Whirlwind. Her blades sang through the air, but instead of dashing around in her usual circle it was Xin who spun this time, darting and slicing at the dragon's muzzle before dodging past its jaws to stab at its wings.
Adwaita Adwaita mumbled a short thanks to Eudo for the save, and then got to work. She flung out her hands and used Combustion on the attacking dragon. 20 energy. She aimed for it's gaping mouth, hoping that would damage it better than anywhere else on it's body. "I couldn't have frozen all the flames, y'know," Adwaita said, wiping sweat from her brow and keeping her eyes on the flying beast. "It was too much. I probaly could have jumped out of the way, too, but thanks." She was rambling, a little, but only 'cause it helped her get out of her head. And now she was getting ready for the next attack.
Aren bullet's tore through the Spearman's chest armor. But the armor slowed the bullet it enough that it didn't go to deep. The slowing field faded away. Finally able to move at normal speed again, the Spearman threw 3 spears at blinding speed towards Aren before trumpeting for his dragon. The one that had attacked Seven flew away from her and towards his master, who hopped on and took to the sky. The Archer's dragon had his the lining of cheek sliced open from Xin's sword, while a blast of fire simultaniously flew in his mouth and exploded. The combo attack sent the dragon crashing to the ground. It didn't move again. The force of his dragon's final landing in combination with a bullet through his armor sent the Archer tumbeling to the ground. Again. The Swordsman moved in to cover his fallen comrade. The Knights of Haberon had quickly dispatched his own dragon. "Joran! Get back to Lady Tiash. Tell her of our failure. Quickly!" He yelled, guesturing widly at the Spearman before turning his sword to Shadow Squad. The Spearman nodded and hesitentantly abandoned his companions before taking flight towards the mountains, narrowly missing Eudoxia's whirlwind. The Archer jumped to his feet, beside the Swordsman, aiming his bow at Mason. It was obvious they were determined not to be captured alive.
Seven leapt over the dragons tail then shot a bolt of lightning one at the beast and the other at the rider hoping to finish him. "Little help here!" Seven called. (10 batterypower+10 batterypower for both targets. medium)
Aren His protector drone stopped the first two spears, and slowed the third before it's battery gave out, but it gave him enough time to drop to the ground out of its path. Then, he rolled back to his feet and tossed a Protector Drone at Mason. The little drone purred to life then set up it's field around him. Then, Aren lined up another shot on the Archer, hoping to finish the job this time. He still had a disruptor bullet in the chamber, and as he pulled the trigger, it arced out leaving a blue tracer tail as it went. (Disruptor Shot, Protector Drone on Mason)
Adwaita Adwaita heard Seven's call for help and hopped to it. Not because she favored the robot, but because she was running on adrenaline and it wa sliek seocnd nature. Adwaita cartwheeled to where Seven was, landing firmly on her feet. "I could've been a gymnast in another life, ha", Adwaita mumbled to herself. Then she flung out her hands once again, throwing another Combustion, right at the raider. 20 energy. "I can't believe you need help, I thought the mighty Ms Seven could do anything compared to us weak fleshy mortals", Adwaita said, giving Seven a smug cat-smile. Adwaita never forgot a mean-spirited phrase,
Xin: Level: 2.02 Xin sheathed both swords, clenching her fingers together and dashing towards the swordsman and archer. Movement speed at 100%. Strength at 50% the nanobots bleeped, and for a moment in time Xin wondere dif she should really call them something else. Xin_Torg Xin's eyes widened as something seemed to grow. A presence. Knife-chop. coming up between the swordsman and his comrade, Xinjabbed both hands at the men's bases of their throats, aiming to knock them out.
Eudoxia Level 2 Point Amount: 130 Eudoxia watched once again as his comrades completely demolished these flying weaklings. They were putting up somewhat of a fight, but his friends were taking the air bound opponents and were dragging them to the ground. Seeing this he felt like resting an watching again, though he knew he would get another scolding from his commander. Then he realized he was somewhat in displeasure when he realized that the tornado wasn't doing much damage. Soon it would die down and he would have to make a new one. Instead he decided to use the time left on this one. He was ready to use his new invention, though it wasn't necessarily going to be used the way it was designed for. He never had the need for them until now. He put on a second glove aside from his Funnel Glove and placed it on the ground. Small mechanical termites came out of the fingers out the glove. Though they looked like termites and acted like them, they could bite through almost anything, but that wasn't what they were used for. They were mines. They went into the ground and made a area. Anyone stepped into that area, they would explode. And if you stepped in the area and jumped they would fly into the air then explode. He made the area inside the mini tornado. They flew into the air and exploded, but the fire from the explosion was set into the tornado and spun around, aiming for any dragons within a twelve foot distance in any direction. He did the calculations, it had no chance of hitting a teammate. Medium Attack Used: 20% Damage Rate....When Added To Tornado Gets A Longer Range
The Swordsman staggered and wheezed as a bolt of lightining hit him in the chest. Aren's shot hit the Archer in the shoulder as he spun out of the way only to find himself covered in flames by an attack from Adwaita. He danced around, screaming until Xin's sword hit him in the throat crushing his windpipe. He died on the spot. The swordsman, however, managed to evade Xin only to jump backwards into a tornado of fire, disintegrating him instantly. Then there was silence. Two dragons and Raiders lay dead at Shadow Squad's feet. For everyone except Tina and possibly Seven...it had been their first kill of a human. The knights wiped the blood off their swords. "You are indeed not of this world, travelers." the Knight Captain said. "Only the Dragon Rider women are capable of such strength and fortitude in battle. We are in your debt." He bowed gratefully. "Come, I know King Markus will want to meet those who saved his subjects." The commander looked over her cadets. Mythai had finished taking care of anyone with a wound, including Xin. She nodded in agreement and Shadow Squad followed the knights towards the castle. -------------------------------------- The city was a magnificent structure of ingenuity. It's enormous brick shimmered depending on where the light hit them. Strange that mud and mortar would shine. "What makes the stone sparkle, Knight Captain?" Mason asked curiously. "Please, call me Sir Errant. Our most precious material is mixed in with the bricks to make them 10 times stronger than normal bricks. It's called Titanium. Our swords, shields, maces, and many other number of items are built with this metal. It's one of the reasons the Zallins have been unable to conquer Haberon. Our defenses are too strong for them." "Huh. That's probably why that Raider's sword cut through your arm so easily Seven." Mason mused. The gates of the city opened and Sir Errant guided Shadow Squad to the Castle itself. The buildings were beautiful with intricate carvings and clever handiwork. The streets however were a different matter. On the side of each street was a trench, filled with sewer flowing out of the city. The smell caused one's eyes to water and many Cadets covered their noses and coughed, unable to handle the sight and smell of raw sewage. They also had to watch where they walked or risk stepping on the remnants of soiled chamber pot thrown from a window. Such was the way of life for medieval city with no modern day plumbing. Mason couldn't help laughing as he watched poor Mythai's face. They didn't reach the castle soon enough. "Herald! Inform King Haberon of heroic visitors from another world." Sir Errant declared. "The King is in a meeting with a Xorin delagate. I will inform him of your arrival but know it may be some time till you can see him." The herald replied before rushing away. He returned 20 minutes later. "The King will not be able to speak with you tonight. He says to return tomorrow evening." Sir Errant nodded then turned to the cadets. "I'm afraid the king will not be able to see you this evening. I will guide you to a reputable inn and you can stay there for the night." Commander Sharp looked at the time on her watch. 8:00. "And Inn would be a good idea. And perhaps the King will be able to tell us where this Rainbow Cavern is. Lead the way Sir Errant." The inn he led them to was named Sleepy Willows. It was cozy and clean. There was a fire crackling in the fireplace and smell of stew made one's mouth water. Sir Errant had promised to return tomorrow evening to escort them back to the castle. Which meant they had nearly a full day to explore the city. "Let's buy some dinner! I'm starving." Mason exclaimed grabbing a table in the corner.
Adwaita Adwaita stopped by a cheap clothes vendor on their way to the inn. She was attracted by the embroidered scarves and billowy summer dresses. And since she had a some change to spare, she bought a new outfit and a pouch to carry it in. The pouch was small, only the size of her palm, but Adwaita expertly folded the clothes into a tiny square and stuffed it inside. She was feeling good; she even let down her raven hair from it's weird knot, letting it flow down her back. Her ebony skin had a healthy glow; it was just the thing she needed after a big battle. At the inn, Adwaita excused herself from the group and came back dressed in her royal purple dress with gold and silver sequins and a billowy skirt. Since they weren't likely to fight again tonight, she wanted to dress like herself for a bit. "So, you guys," Adwaita said, easing into a chair. "How do you all feel? I mean, about finally being Jumpers? Isn't this bananas?" She was so giddy she was practically bouncing in her seat. It had barely phased her that they had killed a guy earlier; she knew it was unavoidable and it came with the job. Plus, she had killed her father accidentally when she had first developed her powers. That significantly helped ease the shock.
Eudoxia Level 2 Point Amount: 130 Eudoxia watched as one of the riders was disintegrated right in front of his eyes. He watched, he wasn't able to do anything. His attack had just destroyed someone, they were gone. Dead. Deceased. And it was by his hands, he put his glove back in his pockets and his purple eyes went wide. They seemed as the only thing seen were his pupils. He was in a haze. He couldn't see anything except the constant image of a man dying before his eyes. His mind went blank, he had never killed a person, and never intended on it. He never killed animals unless it was necessary, or if he found it was needed. This was serious, he had never killed anyone, it was like time slowed down. After he could finally get his eyes of the mental image of the man's death, he looked down at his hands that no longer had the gloves. He saw blood stream down his fingers, and fire began to burn his flesh, he could see red and bone. Though it was all in his mind, it looked real, but he felt nothing. Since he takes most emotions serious, this would stay in his head for a while. He never came here to kill people, he knew this was a Military force, but he always thought his team mates would be the ones doing the killing while he provided cover or protection. He could see the city, he liked it, but he was too out of it to say anything. Once he finally came to he was in a Inn Room. He looked around and saw his comrades. "Let's buy some dinner! I'm starving." Mason exclaimed grabbing a table in the corner. Edo stood up and walked over to the table putting his hands down on it, like he needed something to support him to stand. "Yeah, Mason's right. We should eat." Eudoxia agreed. He then sat down in a chair on the far side of the table. He was starting to come to grips with what he had done, but he was only somewhat more comfortable with it. He felt as if he could kill but, he didn't know yet. Maybe if he came to a kill or be killed situation he wouldn't be as hesitant, but he still needed time to think. "How do you all feel? I mean, about finally being Jumpers? Isn't this bananas?" "Oh yes, by the way, you're welcome for the save Adwaita. You said thank you, but I never responded." Edo spoke in a light voice, one that sounded like his voice was strained, or just tired. Like he had been awake for days, maybe he was in his head. He then thought back to her statement, "I will be more excited once I get the chance to get back to base, improve my inventions, and test them once more." he said in the dull voice he had, when he first appeared in the training. As if he was bored or devastated. He leaned back in his chair, his eyes were still wide, this attitude would probably stop after a goodnight's rest. Though, his head would still be full of thoughts of what to do in his next fight.
