Hey guys, first thread. Now I have a complete block. A title, a couple of words that can enchance or ruin a story; I don't have one. I am only 15 and like to write short stories for myself, I currently have over 300 in my room, all written by myself. My latest is void of a title. Here is the jist: the main underlying theme of the story is Death has ravished the mind. The protaganist is a police officer, regular guy, but unknown to him the death of 2 close people have ruined his mind, at night he changes mind, still same person but he kills. The normal self is on the case of the murders, and one night the killer half fails a killing. He gets back home, injured and the ending paragraph is the same as the beginning. Any ideas on a title? i know it's a bit of a stupid question
Is the story finished? If not, you don't really need to sweat the title yet. If it is done apart from the title, it still won't matter if you're submitting it for publication - there's a good chance the publisher will change it anyway. If nothing comes to mind, I'll toss out "Jagged Blue" to you. You can use it or lose it, no problem!
This might be a little cheesy but what about Good Cop, Bad Cop. Or something similar. Re-reading that it does sound pretty cheesy but maybe you could change it up.
So a Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde? I'm not sure I'm clear enough on your story summary. Welcome to the forum, though.
Yeah I was thinking something like that. So in the end the killer he's trying to find is himself. If it was done right it could be a big shock. PS: And thanks, great to be here!
I hope you guys realize this thread was created back in 2007. In fact, Rob9660 hasn't even logged on since September of 2007, so there's little chance he'll see your posts.
