I forgot to be serious, but most of my preferences have already been posted. So, my contribution is this:

This song is fun to play on guitar.

Savatage was one of my favs a long time ago.
I practically played this song on a loop in my car on the way to and from work...

This is not just music. This is a whole film enclosed in just one album. What a rendition!

Members of Savatage are now Trans-Siberian Orchestra, I believe.

I should have specified hard rock, or heavy metal, power metal, true metal, thrash, some doom.

We could have made a separate thread for Death, Black, screamo, grind core, etc. Good input though.

Are you saying Black Metal isn't TRVE METAL?
Black and Death came straight out of thrash and heavy metal, so it's hard to say they're not TRVE METAL. However, you are right about screamo and grindcore. They are not TRVE METAL; those who support these genres are false teachers, imposters in the holy faith of metal.

Friederich, there are many many different sub genres of metal I’m sure you know. I was trying to discover stuff I never heard of. I personally prefer hard rock / early metal. Even more specifically, female fronted hard rock, metal.

Again , thanks for the inputs

This thread demonstrates why I haven't bought new rock-and-roll music in over a decade, instead just relying on my existing collection.

I have bought new music outside the rock genre though. Classical, Disney soundtracks, Hungarian folk, ...

Now here's an entry in the sub-sub-sub genre of octappella metal!

Obscura, "Emergent Evolution." Tech Death is my favorite. I like how the ELO choirs come in.

Gojira, "The Cell." These guys are at the top of their game. This video is badass too. I like the inversions.

    Maliskey,

It would be a blend of Pesh, Lita Ford, Leather Leone, and the chick from Drain STH, Gigi Hangatch of Phantom Blue, mixed with Crucified barbera, with Girlschool coolaid.

    That’s narrowed down a bit.

    Discuss....

I don't want to know what they're saying, but this is such a good album.

Indeed. I don't know of much similar (don't listen to much thrash/heavy metal,) maybe Coroner...
