Lead singer of this one is a woman: Spoiler: Didn't get the joke? Here's the original*, with translation It's the theme song for a cartoon series aimed at the 2-6 set. The singer in the punk/metal version, Animetal Lady, is a former cartoon voice actress who released an album of heavy metal covers of anime theme songs. *This isn't actually the original, but I couldn't find an original recording with translation. The OG is just as friendly and insipid.
That's an awesome album! Reminds me of Nevermore. I only ever got to see NM once. They broke up right before I was going to see them a second time. I'm still bummed about that. (RIP, Warren) The next time I saw their guitarist (Jeff Loomis) play it was with Arch Enemy, who I see is up above. The elitists don't like them, but man I love them. I saw AE once with Angela and once with Alyssa. I saw them once as Carcass too (their forerunner, for those who don't know). Here's a female-fronted band. Purson. I like these trippy retro bands.
Of your list it's only Mr. Dickinson I have respect for. I got to see Maiden twice during their glory years and those guys put on a show! If there's ever been a better heavy metal song than The Trooper, well, bring it on. I love Queen. I need harmony and melody in my music, and it was that ferocious melodic quality to Iron Maiden's songs that made them my second favorite band.
Phantom of the Opera? Almost any song on Killers? Hallowed Be Thy Name? Fear of the Dark? Alexander the Great? Rime of the Ancient Mariner? and so on
I didn't know till yesterday that there was such a thing as Mongolian Metal. But there is. This is fantastic stuff. The HU Band.
