    The Mixed Drink Thread

Discussion in 'The Lounge' started by JPClyde, Aug 26, 2017.

We have a wine thread. So I figured we'd have a thread where we share our drink recipes. Mixing things together.

    My mixed drink of the night was;

Jose Cuervo Especial about 1/2 of the glass

    with

    1/2 Manzanita Apple Soda

    It was delicious.

I like widows corks: two parts Irish whiskey to one part amaretto, served on the rocks. Yes, please.

Jamison & Ginger with a slice of Lime.

Coconut Vodka & whatever. Be careful, Coconut Vodka has almost no taste, but adds sweetness.

My favorite- Single Malt Scotch & a Glass.

That's a takeoff on a godfather... Irish whiskey instead of scotch.

That's a highball... one of the oldest drinks we have a name for.

    Me too... glass optional.

I hadn't heard of a godfather, but now I must needs try one. That sounds good.

It is good. A godmother has vodka and amaretto... not good.

I dislike vodka, except where it's so heavily masked I can't taste it.

Toasted almonds are nice in winter: "Officially" equal parts heavy cream, amaretto, and Kahlua, but I prefer to sub in Bailey's for the cream and go light on the amaretto.

Serve over ice, or not, or in a dish, whatever. They go down quick though, be careful.

I'm a whiskey fan, so I like a good Manhattan as well as a Crown & Coke.

Also rum and Coke with a bit of amaretto makes for a Cherry Coke flavor.

I recently picked up a whole bunch of different liqueurs that I'm experimenting with. Found a pretty decent concoction, if a little on the sweet side:

    1 shot coconut rum
    1/2 shot pineapple liqueur
    1/2 shot blue curaƧao
    1/2 shot banana liqueur (optional)
7.5 oz Sprite (one of those mini cans)
    Mixed over ice

IDK how it would go, but I have a theoretical mix based on
a fictional drink I created for my first novel.
(Closest approx. to Centurian Blood Fruit Ale). :D
    Mixed Berry Juice
    Ginger Ale
    2 shots of Vodka
(Served Chilled, no ice. Should be equally bitter and sweet.)

    Quik and milk over ice.
    That's class.
Or Quik in Coke with a cherry.
    That's my crazy drink.

Beasy's On The Creek in Ashland, Oregon serves your variant as a Beasy's Coffee.

    Just as a random fact.

Necroing because, hey---has anyone down under tried this? I really want to get my hands on a bottle and see how it tastes.

I'll report back after I try it.

But what do you make with ant gin? My go-to gin drink is a Negroni, followed by and Aviation and a good ol' fashioned Martini.

I was going to say Romney, but then I remember that that was binders full of women, not folders, and I think you're the resident expert on binding and women :)

Only with explicit permission though, and I don't keep pics of them either. :)
(Romney is a creeper for the pics part).
