This just popped into my head, so here we go.

Edited from a mixture of "Promise(Reprise)" and "Dance with Night Wind".

 

As today was the National Day of my country, France, I decided to share one of my favorite iconic French tunes.

This one is from WWII, and, was a song sung by fighters of the Resistance during Germany's Occupation. It's iconic to me because the French were always regarded as 'cowards' during WWII, and, it is living proof that the people of France were proud and courageous, and gave their lives to regain freedom.

I lost family members over the cause this song details.

As much as I love and study WWI, WWII was an absolutely incredible time.

Gives me chills.

 

I had a little Brother ( well not so little) Who was in the 82nd Airborne in more recent history.
And my Grandfather was in WWII and I have his service rifle from WWII.
(Heavy bugger, it is.)/

I hate to ask, but, you wouldn't happen to have a picture of it you could share, would you?

Also, do you know what your grandfather did in particular?

 

He was Infantry.
