Oooh, a music thread. So hard to decide what to share first. I will go with a combination of a song from one of my favourite bands, performed by one of my favourite musicians and singers, produced by the fantastic Postmodern Jukebox:
This one always ends up on the rotation for "YouTube Drinking Night." It's neat how classical often sounds so cool when performed as metal.
I kind of feel like the radio ignored thrash bands of the '80s still have their edge. What they come up with today still hits legitimately hard. These are my favorite recent metal tracks. I love the way Archspire acoustically builds up melody and then keeps coming back to it. I like Arch Enemy a lot. I think they're one of those bands that gets a lot of elitist derision. Whatever, I don't care. I like the harmonies. (I do wish Loomis would release another solo album though. It's time.) Alissa must be some sort of Pilates champion. They're wise to focus the camera on her. I mean, let's be honest.
So y’like a bit o’folk, too! Our tastes seem uncannily similar. Have you listened to any Paul Giovanni? Especially the stuff from the film The Wicker Man?
yeah I’m a fan of British, Irish, American folk music, that kind of thing. I don’t know Paul Giovanni, although I’ve heard enough about the film that I really ought to see it sometime.
