I promise (not really) I won't post any more AJJ after this, but writing my WIP and reading about the publishing business has got this one stuck in my head (I don't write poetry, but I think it applies to pretty much any artistic endeavor):
I'd put this in my top 5 GnR songs. Since that one bit (from above) reminds me so much of Ozzy, here's an Ozzy song that is never played. Oddly enough, it reminds me of GnR.
bliss muse stop dragging my heart around stevie nicks & tom petty cut and run life house and another one bites the dust queen
Damn I wish I'd gotten a ticket. But with all the COVID weirdness and stress of school I decided against it. I really hope this man tours again next year or something. Would be so cool to be in that energy and be surrounded by people who love this dude's music like I do.
So much enthusiasm! Dig the one who looks like Ringo. I just realized there must have been a psychedelic rock thing where the songs are about girls with names (ending in a Y) that imply they're elemental. Windy, Stormy, Spooky (not really the girls name, but a trait of hers, and her name is never given, so it sort of becomes her name). What the heck—might as well add these: The Classics IV went on to become ARS, the Atlanta Rhythm Section, and re-did Spooky. Lol, I also just noticed Stormy and Spooky use a slightly different version of the same rhythm guitar. I don't think I ever heard one right after the other before.
Oh man... this one came up in Youtube recommendations. I had never heard it, so I listened. It's the same rhythm guitar again! Not the whole way through, but it's on the beginning and a few more times. I guess it's when they hit the chorus.
The melody and harmonies of this song’s chorus reminds me of every 60s British film I’ve ever seen. I know it’s supposed to capture the essence of that era, but it does it so perfectly it’s hard to believe it isn’t from then.
