I did not see that particular sequel. If they have Son House music in it, that's a point in their favor but from what I've heard I suspect you're right about the rest of it!
That song is about masturbation according to an interview Mike Patton give like 30 years ago. And 1989? Jeez, I'm getting old.
Yeah, I remember in the old days listening to that song played over the mall speakers for all to hear. Malls were still going strong back in those days. So were bookstores, music stores, computer stores with tons of hardware and games, arcades . . . eh, they were diminishing but still easy to find. Now the mall looks like a haunted mental asylum from a Toronto B movie. The other places have turned into weed dispensaries, hookah parlors, and payday loans. It's nostalgia but it's not misplaced. I'm off topic, sorry. I do think today's music is better though. As long as you don't listen to mainstream drivel. The average then was greater than the average now. Therion finally put out another good album. Man, it's been a long, long time. And it makes me wonder: what if I've been dismissing the last albums after listening to the wrong tracks? I might have to listen to some of them to make sure I wasn't too harsh. Anyway, for this you've got to like opera and be okay with drums sounding like Hooked on Classics. Okay, so they're not that trivial, but they're reminiscent. Since the drums were weak on that (Therion always subdues them), I'll add this Metallica jazz cover. Here, the drums step it up to 11. The point is to make a jazz cover have an attack like a metal song. I might have posted this before, sorry.
Same way Jethro Tull won for metal. This is how you know these awards and halls of fame are no longer relevant.
I like Tull a lot but I remember laughing at that nomination and win. I like Muse too, but metal they are not. Maybe the Grammys should contact me regarding the metal category--I can tell them the best albums of the prior year no prob.
I was listening to Skynard and the Allman Bro. and getting into a deep place. Was it Fate or just not really aware that has put me where I am today. Being a child of the 60's may skew my perceptions a little. So many turns missed
You already know Zepperella and The Iron Maidens. Now I have discovered Judas Priestess!! All hail! (Replaced video with far superior version)
I give you—Mac Sabbath! Good demented fun! Craked me up about a dozen times, mostly catching things onstage and in the background. The singer does a pretty decent impression of Ozzy—his voice and the way he stomps around, but his singing really blows. Other than that they actually sound pretty good. And what's with the dude with the KFC bucket on his head toward the end? A little snipe at Buckethead maybe? Lyrics (cause no way can you tell what he's saying): Children gather after classes No more witch with horn rim glasses All kinds of quick fun munch’n Sit right down to Ronald’s luncheon In kitchen those Macs are burning on the spit no pork is turning Where are Pigs of unwashed kinds? A Mac rib I’ve got to find! Oh LARD, Yeah My favorite meal should be on shelves today Not tucked away in a drawer Why can’t they ever see the light Don’t they know I’m a Mac rib sandwich whore, Yeah Slime wont tell of my sour finds Making us wait just for fun Everyday should be hot off the press Can’t Wait 'till that rib stamped patty comes, Yeah Mac rib is back, it stops my yearning Looks like finally they are a learning No more franchise I have to scour Taking a barbecue sauce shower Smell those onions, I am bawling Off to the death the pigs they’re hauling Wipe the sauce off your fat grins Mac rib is back the feast begins I scored yeah! Awww hell no—this one's even better!
Rachel Flowers—musical prodigy. Blind since birth and autistic, but she can play Keith Emerson music apparently better than anybody has since the man himself. As well as lots of other things. She also plays guitar and flute. And Argent:
