This one has me stumped at the moment, and all help is of course appreciated. A gang in my story comes from a specific street, and more specifically, a street SIGN. 7th Street. Being a number, it should probably be written out as seventh street. Would their gang's name be written out, even though their symbols, titles, and so on would always use the 7th, or would it be 7th Street? Thanks in advance.
ha good question - save yourself the headache and change their name to the West Street Gang or the Westies...
When in doubt, retreat. The number is pretty important to the story though, which is where it becomes problematic. I assume the answer will still be seventh.
But how do you describe their symbols? If they have the number 7 tattooed on their foreheads do you still write seven? Do it dude - change their name
I imagine the gang itself would write it's name as "7th Street", and so could justify that usage in the story, even if Seventh Street is correct. I think you can choose which ever you think best with this one
