Hey everyone, I'm new here. (duh) Uhm, I suck at writing but a girl can try can't she? I have something I want to get some feedback on, but its probably annoying when the noob posts something before earning her keep (aka critiquing other peoples work, getting to know people a little). But don't fret, soon enough you will be able to read my fantastic story. (fantastic- right) I've got nothing to do all summer, so I've decided to dedicate it to sharpening my writing skills (aka GETTING some writing skills lol). So...... I guess thats all. See you guys around the forum.
hhmmm well the rules say that you gotta review like 2 works before you post your own, so i just reviewed a few.. I'm posting, even though I will probably be looked down on for it. Yes, I am about to become one of those annoying new people who clog up the forum. ((Well, I'm just posting one, but you know what I mean.)
Welcome to the forum. Hope you enjoy your time here with all of us and see you around the boards. As long as you don't bump your work, clog up the forums with you work and take critique badly and continue to offer critique to others, you are bound to get review after review. Just give it time and don't be impatient. all that over with, have fun
Hello Modest, Welcome to the Writing Forums. If you haven't explored the site yet, you should probably do so soon. Newcomers often gravitate to the Lounge, the Word Games, or the Review Room, but there is much more to be discovered if you poke in the corners. Remember to check out our FAQ as well, and be sure to read through the forum rules, too, to avoid any misunderstandings or hurt feelings. Respect for one another is our principal mandate. As for the Review Room, new joiners often wonder why we do things a bit differently on this site than on other writing sites. We emphasize reviewing as a critical writing skill. Training your eye by reviewing other people's work helps you improve your own writing even before you present it for others to see. Therefore, we ask members to review other people's writing before posting work of their own. The Review Room forums on this site, therefore, are true workshops, not just a bulletin board for displaying your work (and on that note, please only post each item for review in one Review Room forum). See this post, Why Write Reviews Before Posting My Work? for more information. Enjoy your stay here, and have fun!
Don't feel that your voice isn't heard, as it seems that there are a lot of people who are very active at these forums and are still very kind to new members. Welcome to the forum, and happy posting!
