Sorry @ridgerunner. My wife is a hospice nurse. It requires a very specific personalitt. They do amazing things.
Apparently, the Slave 1 isn't called the Slave 1 anymore. I mean, I'm all for not giving offence, but there comes a point where it's just silly. For the record, I totally understand changing the name of Wing Co. Guy Gibson's dog in the film's American editions.
I have just wasted the last 20 minutes trying to buy Publisher Rocket using my PayPal account! Nope. I've identified squares with stairs, motorcycles, traffic lights, fire hydrants, pedestrian crossings et al to verify my account without success. Anyone else experiencing a problem with PayPal?
The lift at work is broken. I work in a care home. We can't get residents downstairs. We can't bring the cleaning trolley or the food trolleys or basically any equipment that's big/heavy enough to need the lift upstairs. It's total chaos. This is why nobody wants to work there.
This is such an important job. I dread ending up in a care home to end my days. I looked at 26 care homes for my Mum before we found the perfect place where the staff cared about their patients. How do you manage? Is this in the UK or US?
These Captcha puzzles have gotten much more strict and difficult because AI models are much more capable than they were before. It took me five times yesterday to get past them, and it was incredibly frustrating.
The lift in our building refers to the open platform with two sides used for transporting both people and equipment. An elevator is an enclosed box for the same. Maybe it's a regional thing?
Took a minute, but I got it. You're in a desert, walking along in the sand, when all of a sudden you look down and see a tortoise crawling toward you. You reach down and flip the tortoise over on its back. The tortoise lays on its back in the hot sun beating its legs, trying to turn itself over, but it can't. Not without your help. But you're not helping. Why is that, PiP?
Luckily I'm just a domestic and only have to worry about the cleaning equipment. But they have equipment that they can use to get people down the stairs if they desperately needto. It's a requirement to have an alternative because we're not allowed to use the lift if there's a fire. Also, it's still broken. And now they've broken one of the washing machines as well.
Because I'm a mean bastard? Erm ... once the tortoise is on its back it will pee on me to defend itself. They walk not crawl? The tortoise will always win the race? (aka the hare and the tortoise?) Okay Pips gives up LoL
We might all be replicants. Personally I prefer to think I might be a repli-CAN. No need for negativity.
Bless your wife. I was absolutely amazed at the quality and care of the hospice nurses. Made my mother's last few weeks far better. Give your wife a hug for me.
