ps102, perhaps you can sing them this song (to the tune of The Major-General's Song...) *clears throat* This is the very model of infection that's bacterial It doesn't change your skin to pale or make you look ethereal You do not get it from your milk or from your breakfast cereal But it may cause your loved ones to appear very funereal (Sorry. I hope it cheered you up, at any rate!)
I got one of the worst phone calls in my life this evening. Someone called from my mother's phone to say she'd been in a really bad car accident. I'm currently sitting in a waiting area in the emergency room and full blown panicking because I don't know how bad it was and all they've told me is they've taken her for scans. I'm 99% certain she fell asleep behind the wheel.
I am so sorry. I will be thinking of you and please keep us all updated (if appropriate). Sending love and light.
Broken sternum and a broken bone in her back, plus her hand is injured pretty badly and her foot is not broken, but very swollen. She was very nearly killed but her seatbelt and her airbag saved her. ETA: She's going to recover. And I'll leave it there. Mostly just panic posting.
Dogberry, I'm so sorry to hear that, but I'm glad your mum is alive and will recover. Please take care!
A cousin we all loved very much passed away unexpectedly yesterday. He was only 55. This stuff sucks.
I am so tired. My mom is recovering, but she is not taking anything seriously and I'm about to lose my mind.
Both of my parents are in their 90's and losing memory functions, so I completely understand losing one's mind.
Sometimes hysteria can take hold after a big accident. This will be tough but stay strong... your strength will filter through.
I am in A&E with my wife, we have been since 9pm and it is 4.15am here. She's been having a horrible rash that has spread and she was too poorly and couldn't go to work the last two days. She's been seen by 3 doctors now who are unsure what it is or why, as she is having huge pains in her legs that is making her struggle to walk. Had to leave the kids at home by themselves which is not the best. Not sure how much longer we have to wait to see another doctor and have some answers...
Recovery will take time, Dogberry. I'm not going to advise anything, since it will probably make me look like a fool. Patience and time are the best medicines (and medical advice too, of course). I hope someone is looking after the kids, Hideoshi! Grandparents or other family, perhaps? Or neighbours? I hope the doctors can see your wife and advise you both very soon. Crossing my fingers for a speedy recovery. *sends hugs and positive vibes to Hideoshi, wife, and kids*
Thanks @Rath Darkblade Sorry for this feable attempt of a reply as the mind is a little tired and lacking in clarity to respond better, but thank you.
Hideoshi, I am so sorry you and your family are going through this. Sending optimism and hopes that the doctors will be able to come to a conclusion soon as to what is going on with your wife. I know this must be very difficult especially having to also worry over the kids being alone. Wish I could babysit but too far away, but here to listen if you need it.
So sorry to hear this. Hope you're getting a good rest today. I assume A&E is your emergency room service at the hospital? I hope you didn't have to wait too long to see the first doctor. Our ER is notorious for long wait times. I hope you can get to the bottom of her rash, and find some good treatment for it.
She's going to stay in hospital over night and A&E is Emergency where you guys are (Accident and Emergency.) Five doctors have seen her and still don't know. Her rashes have blistered, legs are swollen and painful (I was tempted to post a picture of it, but it is horrible.) A more specialist doctor will see her in the morning to hopefully shed some light, but no answers to how and why her legs are swollen, in pain and covered in rashes.
My heart goes out to you and your family, Hideoshi. The unknowns and waiting for answers is maddening.
Im sure that must be maddening for her and you as well. Im sorry that's happening. Hope they get to the bottom of what's wrong asap. Best wishes for a speedy recovery for her.
That sounds awful, @Hideoshi. But I'm hopeful that things will get better soon even if things are quite scary right now. The specialist should help you two better. I've had my fair share of experiences with the NHS (both old & recent) to think that.
I want to thank everyone for your kind words and encouragement. My mother is still alive, but our relationship is not.
My cat scratched me on my face so I suspended her bed sleeping privileges for 24 hours Hopefully she learns...grr. haha jk shes sweet.
Ouch! I hope the gouge isn't deep or anything, TrevorD. Do you have pictures? Your cat sounds like a bit of a hellion.
Naa she's nice, but her animal instincts took over! For some odd reason, she likes to watch NBA basketball with me lol.
