Thanks. I don't think I need advice, I just need to get a grip that I'm an adult now and that comes with more responsibility. :p

Thanks, it does suck. If you want to talk, you can always PM me too. And aye, we can indeed. :D

My holiday is nearly at an end. Well, the official one is over but right now we just have meetings etc we can fall asleep in. We had three exhausting days overseeing the Placement and English Proficiency exams but the real crunch is when classes start a week on Monday...and...I really can't hype myself up to the level of energy needed to galvanise a new group of students into action. I guess it'll be okay once it starts, though. I feel kind of jaded and burnt out, not a good sign. When I sit down to write all I really do is surf the Net, looking at nonsense.

First world problem, but I've been disloyal to my hairdresser and paid the price - the one I went to today was pretty unpleasant and now I have rubbish hair. Damn the lure of the Groupon.

    Thanks Mallory.

Banzai that sucks! I hate when the power goes down for no apparent reason. We had rolling brownouts during the summer to conserve power. This was right after a news story where some lady was saying she has to keep her house at sixty degrees for her cats. *facepalm*

I'm unhappy because I hurt and I feel overwhelmed. I feel a bit on the fence about whether to be happy or upset right now. I'm happy I'm getting my beads organized for my business. I'm unhappy because I feel like I've barely put a dent in it and pain flare ups make me unhappy. So I guess between the two I'm more of "meh" right now. :p

I've been babysitting since maybe 5PM, and it's nearly midnight. I have a lot of weekend homework and schoolwork and just plain work tomorrow and I just wanna go home. Not that I don't love these kids or this family or this house -- I do. But waiting for hours to go home and get some proper rest is tedious.

Oh come on, Netflix Instant Watch! You mean to tell me you can have the entire series of Bleach, Naruto and Inuyasha but you don't have the Dragon Ball Z series? The anime series I liked as a kid?

    <____<

I trusted you, Netflix Instant Watch...I TRUSTED YYYOOOOUUU!!!!

Fine. Guess I can try Inuyasha...

<for the uninformed: Netflix allows you to watch TV episodes and movies instantly without having to rent it. Pretty cool, if you ask me.>

Ugh, I've been having a bad week. They keep cutting back my hours at my new job. Not just my hours, but everyone's. I'm hoping business will pick up as the holidays get closer.

Got an idea, sat down, wrote an opening sentence, lost the idea.

Excuse me while I go drown my sorrows in Nutella.

    WriterDude was banned.

    Why?

I feel like more and more people I know are getting banned - people who've been around for a long time and made lots of contributory, helpful posts - seemingly for no reason at all, at least not that I could tell.

Banning people, unless it's utterly unavoidable, is completely stupid imo. A bit of common sense from time to time should surely prevail, should it not? The contributions you make in the past, the time and effort you invest in this site doesn't seem to factor into it whatsoever. They must have a policy of 'If you step over the line, you're gone' kind of thing. It doesn't make sense. The site is losing valuable and interesting posters

WriterDude's ban is temporary, and was given for repeated insulting behaviour.

I honestly could not have said it better myself. +rep! This site is losing valuable posters. I mean some people that are getting banned now have been here a long time, and have contributed to the site greatly. The only reason you should really ban people is if they harass people continuously without hesitation. This is My honest opinion.
    @Mal, it is VERY bothersome.

Banzai, thanks for clearing that up, but I still feel like a lot of people have been banned lately.

Ahhh that makes sense. I can understand that.

I don't think there's ever been a more perfect reason to drown your sorrows in nutella. :(

I'm allergic to nuts so if I want to drown my sorrows it will have to be with raspberry chocolate. ;)

Banning is absolutely the last resort of the mod team, and any time you do see someone banned, it should be considered the very tip of the iceberg. Contrary to what seems like popular opinion, we don't just ban people because we feel like it (spambots aside- I take a special pleasure in banning them, which I hope no one would begrudge me), and bans are preceded with warnings, infractions, and more warnings before the stage where a ban is considered is actually reached.

I was banned for a few min then i apologized so i think im unbanned. I said something in the terms of bigotry, which im not proud of saying it. People disrespecting my country really makes me mad. It's just one of the few things that makes me really mad. I don't like being mad.

Aye bro, I don't like it as much as the next guy. I take comfort in the fact that all countries are just as bombed as this one. ;D

It's not necessarily the people either, it's that we use economic (And therefore political) models based on the principle of infinite resources, though we very well know we live in a world where resources are finite.

I always think about all the starving kids in Africa and the terror in the Middle East- while here in America we don't have any of those problems. Why would they disrespect our country like they do? Shouldn't they just enjoy it?

I'm sure they have their reasons, as we have our reasons for other things. Humans are like that. Ever since we mustered the ability to draw lines on a map.

Also I love your avatar. That book was amazing.
