Tried pan frying homemade corn dogs today. The oil set on fire and I panicked, and my girlfriend didn't have any good advice, so like the intellectual that I am I attempted to carry the flaming pan outside. As it turns out, flaming pans are hot, and it burned my hand. In shock I dropped it all over my mother's kitchen floor and part of her living room carpet. Both pretty much destroyed. And I have burns on both legs and hands. Needless to say, the corn dogs were delicious!

@Admin Wow, glad you are (somewhat) okay!!

Speaking of fire, I didn't write this a few days go since I was still in shock, but it's quite a story. On Sunday morning, I started to do my hair for church and I use hot rollers. They are my go-to in the morning since my hair is thick. Anyway, I put one in my hair and suddenly I hear a crack, a sizzle. I look down and there's a spark where the hot roller had been sitting. Fearing the worst, I unplugged it quickly and ran to tell my mom that I thought they were on Fire. They were on fire and when we came back there was a bigger flame. So, my mom took it outside (like you tried Admin ;) Good thinking!) and it literally began to burst into more flames!

I couldn't believe it happened, so here's a picture to prove it:

    fire2.jpg

I was upset. But, I'm thankful I was in the room when it happened and the hot roller in my hair didn't catch fire first. :p

    Put a lid on it!

(That's the best way to deal with a fire in a pan or skillet)

Don't try to move it, don't use water on it. Do turn off the heat under it.

    That's a disaster JessWrite!

I made cookies for my roommate and I while she was at work yesterday. I cooked them quite nicely, took them out of the oven, and left the cookies out to harden up. When ready, I ate two and they were quite delicious. I then decided to put them back in the oven just to store them in there until my roommate was off of work. I sat in the living room dining my cookies and after a couple minutes I could smell burning. I immediately ran to the oven and realized I left the oven on! The cookies were a nice char color and of course ruined. :(

Sorry Kenn,I know how it feels to have your hard work go to waste :( On the bright side, at least you know how to make cookies nicely n_n

Speaking of hard work going to waste...I really miss working on my novel. My computer broke like a week ago and I have yet to extract the contents from my hard drive to this laptop temporarily. For now, I'm working on a short story but that's not the same...
I also miss drawing as well! I had two projects going on and now I won't finish them before school starts...

    So much for summer targets...

Just have a total lack of motivation. Even more lately, and just over it.

It's all good, just a pain in the butt.

Also every time i sleep these days i dream, nonstop. Once i loved that, but now it just makes me feel like crap when i wake up.

^ Know what you mean about lack of motivation. I've had no motivation for a while and it's really frustrating. Means I end up doing nothing and bored out of my mind because when I try and do something, I just can't focus on it. Blahhh.

I'm having a relatively fucking great day at the moment! Which is weird because I was having a pretty terrible time of it less than two days ago. Work was killing me (I have the most soul destroying job in the world. Workforce Management. It's worse than retail).

I was seconded into the role almost a year ago, and have been running the entire area by myself without any pay rise or benefits since January. Last Tuesday my boss had the balls to ask me for an extremely complex staffing profile in an entirely unreasonable timeframe. When I told him that I wouldn't be able to meet his ridiculous deadline, he had the balls to yell "You WILL have that report done on time, IT'S WHAT I PAY YOU FOR!" At me in front of the entire floor.

The kicker is that I've been asking for the position to be formalised for the last 6 months, and have been consistently fed empty promises and excuses since I started. It's not even my job. I have a completely different job, and the only reason that I've stayed there is to help the prick out (my boss and I are actually very close friends). So I unleashed. I can't even remember what I said to him, all I saw was red. He's been acting strangely ever since, and now barely looks at me unless he has to.

However my girlfriend, being the gorgeous woman that she is, spent all day today cheering me up. She has a knack for making me feel better about everything. And she makes great sammiches.

@Darkkin Awww, no! Yuck, I hope you feel better soon. My whole family had that last week, I somehow got out of it...lucky me. To make up for it, I probably will be stricken with something worse this winter. :(

    Still not sure
I don't usually post but tonight was just a hell night. The day didn't even start off great. Ever have a day where you just should have stayed in bed with the phone off? So I get to work on what really should be an easy smooth night. Thursday is our Friday. Usually only about a 4-5 hour day. Well, I'm a forklift driver. The warehouse has 3 sections (candy, HBA, grocery) on the side I work. I'm technically the candy driver but they like for us to help out in other areas. So I was helping in HBA when the little bitch who is a supervisor decides to make her opinion known. She tells my boss that I'm distracting her workers.

Backstory on that: She and I went to school together and because I wouldn't date her way back then, it pisses her off. There's a couple girls in the area who like me and I flirt with them all the time. She just can't stand it that I'm so much more likable than she ever has been.

So I get told to STAY in candy. So that's what I did. Then he had the nerve to ask me why I wasn't helping out in the other departments. Der. Good job but fuck. Low pay, not enough hours to make up for it either. It's a weekly paycheck. JUst wanted to vent. Disappear off into my music for a couple hours now.

My roommate took a huge dump this morning and didn't flush it. I just got home and it has been festering all day...

Small complaint, but baking when it's warm = not a good idea. More specifically, the cake decorating. Whipped cream curdles, buttercream melts... sigh.

Even baking itself doesn't seem like a good idea today Lydia. Anything that increases the ambient heat on a day that is already too hot for comfort should be eschewed.

I haven't been sleeping through the night for several years now but it seems to be getting worse more recently. I used to wake up a few times a night every night then I'm able to fall back asleep but for the past few months I've been waking more like 7-9 times a night and taking more like ten or fifteen minutes. I also find myself very listless and distracted during the day and feeling so sad and hollow all the time. I'm afraid my depression is getting worse. When I was younger it was really bad, I was just so pissed at the world. I'm still pissed all the time but I'm hoping I'm done with my other issues, or at least I hope I can control them. I've realized I come off as a happy person but I'm really not :S k done.
