The Not Happy Thread

I had (very minor) surgery this morning and I was too British to tell the doctor the anaesthetic hadn't worked.

 

Bloody hell Tenderiser, nobody needs to be that British.

 

That did occur to me during the procedure, but I didn't want to risk hurting the doctor's feelings.

 

I'm late to the game, but yes, we have stoats in the U.S., but they are a northern critter. I understand that @Spencer1990 is a South-West boy. Remember, America is big. BIG. North to South is like going from Northern Germany to Southern Spain.

 

Also, seriously... people... can we not post horrific videos? Do I actually have to explain why that's not cool?

Look, folks, yesterday was one of those days where I felt like no one gave two shits about Wreybies. No one. Ask the mods. I stormed off last night in a silver, 4-door Huff because I was over it. Everyone was so balls deep in their own thing (once the site was back up) that they just couldn't be arsed to think about the fact that after everyone exerts their inalienable freedoms to be themselves, lobbing their molotov cocktails in all directions, everyone else (point the finger in every direction, every permutation) is going to come to Wreybies to come deal with it.

Do y'all see how that's a kobayashi maru for Wreybies?

I care about you, Wrey. I was perfect last night. And I did it all for you.

 

Going on hour 13 at work right now. Employee decided not to show up to a critical infrastructure job, and as those go, they must always be filled. Fun times for the person they were supposed to relieve (me).

 

So, one by one, mom's little chicken rescue service has failed. Each one has gone to the great coop in the sky. The last one is on his last leg.

I'm a little tired of her doing this.

It was a kestrel before and there have been cats and various sundry other animals. You know how some people just don't have a green thumb for plants? Well, she doesn't have whatever the equivalent is for animals. And what gets under my skin is that I let her get me all engaged in helping and I get attached to these animals and then I'm the one who has to play mortician and bury them.

My fault, I know, don't need to be told, and that's what upsets me the most.

 

There's already a coop, but... She's just not good with rearing wee ones, regardless of species. She over-handles them, over-coddles them, believes that she has to intercede at all times, no matter that the end outcome tends to be the same, thus proving that this is not the way.

She has a cat that managed to survive. It is the most insane little creature you will ever meet. "But, look, I rescued Tina and that turned out okay." No, mom, it did not. That cat is fucking certifiable. And she's always on my case with my dog. Do this, do that, do the other other thing. I'm like, leave my dog the fuck alone. She's living her happy little dog life, as well she should. She obeys the commands I need her to obey. Come here. Go peepee. Stop. That's all she needs. She's happy and loves everyone.

 

My mom's the direct inverse.

She can save any critter on the brink of death & have it healthy n' lively in no time flat.

But she massacres even desert plants. . .

 

That's less American media, and more of just media in general. I assure you that the Canadian, French, German etc MSM is just as bad.

 

American media at its finest. :/ Sorry bud. This is why I don't watch the news anymore; they'll have you thinking terrorists are hiding in your bed and watching you shower through peepholes in the walls the way they go on about it.

 

It's funny, ain't it? Some loon shoots up a baseball game full of (and run by) GOP congressmen and they don't think that's terrorism. A fridge blows up in a London flat and they immediately conclude it had to have been done by terrorists. If you ask me, the former WAS terrorism because the guy specifically asked, "Are you Democrat or Republican?" before he opened fire. It was politically motivated, after all why else would he have asked?

I think the other reason is because he's not a brown Muslim, because, y'know, white guys can never do anything wrong!!

 

The shooting thing happened just as I was going to bed, and I just woke up, but since you're saying they're not calling it terrorism, I'm guessing the shooter was white.

 

Yeah, an old white dude. But I bet your bucks had he been brown or Muslim, they'd be screaming "TERRORISM!!!!"

I feel so sorry for the average Muslim.
