Once the american military arrive Spanish/English translators are going to be in demand, and as a DOJ/ex force type he'd be near the front of the line. They'll have generators etc so hopefully they'll look after him

    How's this for idiocy:

Part-time employer: We've got an urgent vacancy for four days full time in manchester next week.
Me: Sorry, I can't work those hours because I have a second job.
Part-time employer: It's an urgent job for four days full time in manchester.
Me: I can't do four days full time, I have a second job.
Part-time employer: Is it because of transport?
Me: No, it's because I HAVE A SECOND JOB!

They have had my available hours for several weeks.

    Grrr.

How many times can you get appetite suppressants/diet pills/other diet shit that no one ever thought worked, from your parents without cutting the ties?

I've already lost 33 pounds this past year, I'm doing the best I can!

Then they have the guts to complain/call me obsessed when I work/diet myself sick or injured. If I didn't get the constant reminder that I'm fat and worthless then I wouldn't have to work out until my bone break.

Sorry for rant. I thought I finally were in a place where I could start building my confidence again...

People are jerks. Do what makes you happy, and tell the ones
that bother you to piss off. You have the right to be happy,
just as much as they have the right to be assholes. So that
being said, you have the right to tell them to piss off and
stop whinging about it. Its your life, not theirs. They will
have to realize you are an individual, and that you want to
be/feel good about yourself without any of that bullshit.

Brought to you by the same attitude that gave us:

I've just been through things so many times I needed a semi-anonymous place to get it off my chest.

Though I did do what I usually never do today - stood up for myself. And that with not to much "collateral damage" or cut family ties. Overall - it went better than expected. Yay?

That would be ideal if we didn't have laws. Or we could enact
at it as Darwin's Law, where common sense over being an
idiot will keep you protected by society? :D

    Shit. I've got horses.

I also need to go back to bed. Woke up from a lovely dream (in which I was busy polishing somebody else's expensive silver) to go to the toilet. Then started worrying about everything and everybody I can't control ...hurricanes, Trump, potential arthritis and tooth loss, Theresa Bloody May, etc ...and now I'm wide awake again. Perhaps it's time to tackle War and Peace, which has been languishing on my Kindle. That should do the trick? Either that, or I'll end up glued to it nonstop for the next month, and get no sleep at all.

I wondered about that. In the dream, I was perfectly happy to be doing it, not feeling at all 'exploited.' Hmmm....

A silver attachment would be dandy, delicate clips and harnesses. Probably with a tiny screwdriver draw-side. 'Now this one is my Prussian Officer's kepi, priceless and most efficient, if you catch my drift. I was looking for a valuation?

    'One million pounds.'

'I know darling, I love you too.'

    ...

I never knew you kept horses. My new boss-wife keeps horses. It's a twin business aside his, [the man's] main operation. In years to come I might transfer, be the surly stable-hand of my dreams. That's a bit creepy actually. I'm thinking paternalistic and jolly.

I really hope @Wreybies manages to get word out soon, the news from Puerto Rico is pretty grim. The governor says that the island has been set back 20-30 years, and it may be a year without power for some people. That'll make modding difficult unless we can establish a carrier pigeon link to someplace like Miami....

Realistically Wrey is in a city near the capital so he should be back on line before people who are out in the sticks - alaso the governor is playing up the problems to put pressure on thumper to commit more federal money

I hope so. I'm not to concerned for his safety, but there are a lot of other things going on, like the fact that, as far as I know, his employment is basically online, which means....

Well, I don't know what sort of contract or employment conditions he has exactly, but the sooner I hear that power and internet are back up wherever he's staying, the better I'll feel about the whole thing.

He works mostly for the Department of Justice. If they want court cases to proceed apace, I expect they'll ensure that he has what he needs. He may have to work at the courthouse for a long while, though, and they probably restrict his online behavior.

Still, I , too, hope for Puerto Rico's return to normal.
