PTSD is one of those really overused terms (like depression) which devalue the plight of genuine sufferers … I'm not talking about anybody here, but every second celebrity has 'PTSD' these days, when what they mean is "a bad thing happened and I'm a bit scared it might happen again"

Ariana Grande for example after the bomb at her gig in Manchester - yeah sure frightening shit, but the bomb was in the foyer, she didn't come close to being caught in the blast, it wasn't aimed at her, but she supposedly has PTSD - despite not showing any symptoms and still being able to perform in public

Then there's that silly cow who left celebrity big brother after the other nonentity may be punched her (or may be didn't), apparently she has PTSD from the shock of the negative reaction … oh fuck off already

Being a bit upset and afraid after something bad happens doesn't mean you have PTSD, in the same way that being a bit sad doesn't mean you're depressed

PTSD is a serious condition, with serious symptoms and serious consequences for fucked up lives, its not the next designer accessory for celebrity life.

There is a word I am looking for, and I cannot recall what it is.

So basically, a character, is using a Rat to Psychically communicate with my MC. and he refers to the rat as something, saying "He (The rat) agreed to be my "title" in exchange for food and a little easier living as my pet (as the Psychic Character puts it)..." Then goes on to explain to the MC to follow the Rat to the place where the Psychic and others like him are being held.

So any chance, any of you know what the hell I am talking about, or what the word is.

It's like Proxy, Avatar, etc. But not those words.

Yeah, I think Familiar was the word I was looking for. Thanks, Ian.

It might be something else, but Familiar seems correct.

I'd understand Ariana feeling a level of guilt, the guy knew lots of people would be there because they were at her gig. But that would be survivor's guilt rather than PTSD.

"Medium?"... only suggesting it because you used the term "psychic." Familiar sounds way cooler.

I'm afraid I have to tell you something. I have seen this film, and...I didn't fucking get it-at all! I found it dull, cheap and sooo boring! Why do so many guys think it's one of the best films ever made? I really don't understand!

I imagine Matwoolves would duel with nail-studded, barb-wire-wrapped....

    ...pool noodles.

Come to think of it, I may have just hit on my Halloween costume :)

Helped my son and his friend make a duct-tape paddleboard for scouts. We used PVC pipe wrapped with pool noodles. It was originally going to be the "duct-tape sail boat", but that was a bit ambitious.

I fell part way down the stairs yesterday and today I woke up not being able to use my left arm very well. My left shoulder, side, and my arm down to the tips of my fingers hurt so damn bad.
