When I used to play Game of War my name was Roy Batty. Not many understood the reference. Then one day I got zeroed in a KvK war by a dude named Rick Deckard. Totally worth the ass whupping!

Yeah, I realised that after I googled it. I should maybe see it?

I thought it was flawed but okay. OTOH, it's mostly gone from my memory already.

I enjoyed it. I liked the way they doubled down on the 80s vision of the future rather than trying to turn it into something more modern.

Blade Runner 2049 is a solid movie. No, it doesn't have the iconic vibe of the original, but how could it?

I’m sensing it’s more appealing to the mesomorph populations? An Aliens kind of demographic of your classic peow peow sensation with popcorn, & not the Alien experience in smoke, savoured
by all high intellectual brethren/sorority (my people)?

Although in my opinion Blade Runner is boring. Rutger Hauer’s highlight would be ‘Soldier of Orange, 1974.’ And please @janut do not objectify blondes, sexist.

Other than Blade Runner, I think my favorite Rutger Hauer movie is Flesh and Blood.

We..eeel... I spent about 2 hours unearthing Max Von Sydow clips for this thread...and then Klaus Kinski scenes...and then I thought I just had to say something - hence previous garbage post...

For me it's probably Ladyhawke. Though that's likely mostly nostalgia talking.

i think so. Some people were bored by it because of the pacing, but they probably didn’t like the pacing of the original either.

I'm actually a fan of slow-paced movies, so if that's the pace I'll probably like it.

This seems so much more poignant now.

She was quoted as saying that no one knew exactly what her characters looked like, because she purposely left that to the reader. This is a perspective I can heartily agree with.

Jeffrey Epstein committed suicide in jail, per an alert I just got from the Hollywood Reporter. He will not be missed. ETA: confirmed by law enforcement.

Munchkin the Lynx at the New Forest Wildlife park has passed. Not an earth shaking event but I is sad because I did the photography for his arrival as a kitten many years ago

    munchkin.jpg

To me Munchkin deserves more publicity than that odious creep jeremy epstein

Debate room. This ain't the place for that. ETA: I posted that in honor of his victims, not for you to turn my post into a political statement.

    :stop:

This thread is for reporting notable deaths and making a few comments on the death. However the Epstein death is fraught with controversy. The death has been duly reported here and a few comments have been made—and controversy has arisen.

It's time to take the issue to the Debate Room, if anybody wants to continue this discussion.

    Let's move on.

The only guy to survive that road trip is the one who didn't even have a bike.

    Peter Fonda is dead.
