The Official American Football Thread

Is anyone else here excited for the upcoming season? I'm really hoping that New England can bring it home this year after what happened in 2007. i am optimistic but you never know.

 

Prepare to talk about soccer. A huge chunk of the forum community is British.

 

Wrey is right, you should have it changed to American Football. I am really looking forward to the season. Go Ravens. Here's hoping that they can get more than just three first downs a game this season.

I enjoy watching rugby then soccer then Canadian football.
Hate American football though.
I know strange list but there it is.
Hockey is the best of it all.

 

There seems a correlation here, from more to less violent. Is it just me?

I used to watch hockey at my friends house since her dad and brother were hockey fanatics. They were tried and true Leafs fans so I automatically picked Montreal. Just to keep it interesting.
But I started watching other teams and the one game I remember the best was Toronto against Boston 2 bench clearing brawls.

people do not seem to get it that a sweet innocent butter wouldn't melt in her mouth girl could possibly like a sport where fights add to the game.
I really don't understand it myself but now that I am a lot older that really hasn't changed.

Football is very much enjoyable. I feel obligated to cheer for the Cardinals' but I no longer live in Arizona... plus they're horrible. Other than that I play it by ear. If I like what a team is doing in the current season i'll root for them.

 

Yeah man, Utah has mormons. I think most of us here know that. Now if you can find a way to solidly connect the two different ideas of mormons and football, then you might end up with a funny joke.

 

Well, maybe the Saints could move to Salt Lake City and become the Latter Day Saints.

 

I don't really watch anything but the super bowl. You should have heard my dad last year. I was playing Chromehounds over XBox Live and as soon as he started screaming "WOOOOOOOOOT YES YES!" When the giants won half my team started asking what was going on over my headset XD.

Wait a second, now I feel stupid. I just realized that there is a St. Joseph's College team. In my defence, it's a college team that's not from my state, and I don't know about them. :redface:
