Hey guys, I'm trying to figure out whether I should use un-blindfold or unblindfold Neither of them seem right. Microsoft Word is telling me that I should just give up on these words. Could somebody suggest a better word? The sentence is: She unblindfolds him. Thanks
She removed the blindfold from his face. or (to be clever-er...er) She reached out and removed the cloth that had been blinding him. Or any of a million derivations thereof. Unblindfolds sounds weird (and is incorrect) because that isn't the action that is taking place (though, you are un-blinding and unfolding, I suppose.) The magic of English is there are tons of great words to paint the action for a reader. Instead of someone being "almost dead" they can "cling to life."
amen to that, Q! it makes no sense to try to make up a word for something that can be worded well conventionally...
Oh hahahaha! Thanks all! I don't know what possessed me to be stuck on such a silly statement. I guess I can't just randomly put un-somethings wherever I want. -Instant Braindeath- I need sleep xD
