Anyone else here read those two books, by Peter V Brett. If so, thoughts, comments etc? Personally, I loved them and am hanging out for The Daylight War, which is meant to be released in 2012 /dies a little inside.
I know its a bit late to reply, but I just noticed the thread. I have read both and Im sure I'll read the next one, however, I thought The Painted Man was the better of the two, mainly due to the way he seemed to carefully combine all 3 of the characters stories together, taking the time to get the reader to care about each one, whereas the Desert Spear seemed rushed, and seemed to focus on a completely different character, barely mentioning the original 3, and without explaining what happened between the first book and where the second picked up...or maybe that was just a misinterpretation on my part.
