Foxee, in your last post you said that no one volunteered for defense, but Fox said that she'll help with defense.
Nothing really, he's just freaked out by your loss of memory. I actually thought about that as part of the wierd stuff going on.
Poor smith tried to get along but no one wants to play nice on this planet. (By the way he really does disslike you now. You're the second, you and fox are now the only two. Well he's nutral about the puppy that follows fox around, she is only as bad as the owner. )
Phew! That was alot to catch up on. Schnikes! Ok, so Raylene can sew and probably learn to weave quickly. She can hear animals thoughts, even if they aren't moving so she can help hunt for small things. So I'll put her on livability and procurment or whatever. I think everyone is on defense at some point. Like taking night watch, and everyone fights when there is a threat. Just my $0.02, not like it matters much.
yep, you're right, FoxyMomma...like Reva said, the designations will change. I'll bank your $.02 now...never know when I may need to use it! Nighty night, Chick. I'm going to advance time to night time when I get out of the shower so wrap up anything from the day you want to wrap up in the next 1/2 hr!
I'm still waiting for the official ruling on my post suggesting how to run fights. If it got lost in the posts, I think it's at the bottom of 200.
sorry, Tsu...I did say it sounded like a good idea. I don't know if you want to post a 'how-to' here or what would be easiest?
That's actually what I was referring to haha. I posted it at the bottom of 200. If you give me a moment I'll find it and put it here... Ah it was at the bottom of 199. Here it is: Alright then I'll just put up what I learned from that tournament before. Fighting should be handled as follows: 1) The attacker should begin by saying that they attempted to attack the defender, and explain how. They do not, under any circumstance, assume that their attack hit. 2) The defender follows the post of the attacker by either explaining how they avoided the attack or how it hit, and how much damage it did. They can then follow it up with a second action such as shifting into a defensive stance to be ready for the next attack or counterattacking. In case of a counter-attack, the defending player would then become the attacker, and the original attacker does step two. If they shift their stance, the attacker remains the attacker and begins again at step one. 3) No god-modding (duh). Your character can't dodge every hit or necessarily kill everyone in one shot. The fight should be monitored by a GM of some kind (if Foxee wants to appoint a fight coordinator or something) who will make sure both players are fighting according to their character's abilities and fighting fairly, then the player's posts will decide the victor on their own, or the GM/FC can decide a winner.
Since Foxee asked us to report what each person found here; Britney and Kat found and are bringing back twenty red pineapples.
Thanks, Tsu! This is very helpful. I also think it can be written as we're writing the RP...in the form of a fiction novel. I like the idea of appointing a fight co-coordinator. PM me if you're interested and I'll choose from there.
Raylene has to be inside now? I wanted her to come back after dark and have a triumphant return to the cave with the boar, but get sick from being out in the cold.
Crap ona log! i just reached an important point, and everything was editede around it. Gotta go fix it!
You still can. Write it in the tense I showed you guys. In this situation you'd honor the time change by writing something like: "Raylene had practically frozen herself to death in a snow drift but came into the cave as the light fell, bent double from the weight of the mongo huge boar and sneezing her head off. Now she sat at the fire and began using the knife she had borrowed from Fox to cut the remains of the boar into thin strips for drying." See? We merge the past from before the time change together with what is happening now. Considering that you write your posts in present tense (I can't get used to that, sorry) you would just use past tense for the this-is-what-happened-before bits and then go to present to write the rest. Make sense?
Okay...this is it for the day. SD and Z...you're really supposed to read the posts before yours and tie in your posts to it. Don't just ignore the fact that Reva is speaking about something that could eat you. And don't assume that nobody got firewood when we've mentioned that there is a fire and we cooked food over it. You could say that we used more than we expected...but your posts really should tie in with other posts and acknowledge what is going on around you. We aren't just moving our characters like figurines...we are all together creating a reality.
There was a mess-up where all the posts came in at the same time with different intentions. SD and I are trying to edit out the kinks, give us a chance. {not trying to be rude, but that was the best set of words}
<~~stole Foxee's words up there^. She described it exactly how I pictured it. Eh.... I'm off to bed now, and I won't be on much at all tomorrow. Maybe a little in the morning before we head to dad's. Foxee knows what to do with Raylene.
Sorry about the wall of text, and sorry if I went a little overboard on the drama, but I really wanted to make Britney's death memorable.
