The sound of shots broke through her concious, and into her memories, frightening her awake, "MOM! NO!" Chrys screamed, popping up. It was getting dark, she sat confused, the sky was clearly night, but she could she someone moving in the cave. Who is that? She popped onto her feet, crouching low, stalking to the mouth of the cave, eyes intent on Chad. She reached the mouth of the cave, and pounced on Chad's back.
Smith managed to get his hands infront of himself before he hit the ground but that meant dropping the rifle and that landed on it's top, and smith's stomach landed on the magizen. "AHHH" He shouted the pain over rode the sound of the rifle going off towards the forest. He curled into a ball holding his stomach.
Chrys realized what she'd done, "Oh, I'm so sorry, sir. What were you doing to this man?" She looked down into his face, "He looks really familiar. Hrm?" She sat down next to Chad, "Are you okay?"
Derek heard Chad shout in pain. Suddenly he felt bad for abandoning him. Am I really any better than him if I abandon him when he needs me? he thought. He looked around, making sure the coast was clear, and ran out back towards the camp. When he arrived, he saw Harold lieing dead on the ground. He slowed to walk, spitting on the corpse as he passed. Derek walked into the cave to see Chrys laying on top of Chad who was on his gun. It took him some time to work out the shapes. "Hey, I miss somethin'?"
Smith groaned, his stomach pulsing in fresh pain. "Chrys?" He asked and looked up at her looking down at him. "Did you call me sir?" He asked confused, he rolled over on his back, keeping the rifle at his side and looked up at her, and smiled. "A bit enthusiastic arn't ya?" He asked and gave a weak smile.
......................"My name is Reva," she said. She offered her hand and Allen took it. She had a firm handshake. "I'm Allen. Do you have a camp around here? Someplace with some food and a place to shelter from the rain? Thank you for fixing my arm Reva."..................
(Okay, this is going to come of weird, bear with me) Chrys looked at Chad, "Sir, who is this 'Chrys?' And for that fact, who are you?"
"What do you mean who am I?" He asked forgetting all about his earlier worry. "Chrys your even weirder than before." He said and laughed kindly. "And nice pounce by the way, i'm really gona start calling you Kat." He said and laughed again.
"Kat? Is that my name? But you just called me Chrys." She pointed at herself, then looked up at Derek, "Now, what's your name mister?" She stood up, noticing him favoring two different limbs, "Oh, you're hurt. Would you like help? I know a bit of first aid, I've always been clutsy, so I had to learn." SHe said, smiling a bit to herself.
"Chrys is who the hell you told me you were," Derek said. He was baffled. "You goin' nuts? Chad, what the hell's goin on?" Derek scratched his head.
"I don't know why I would have told you that, it sounds nothing like my name. Wait," Chrys said, looking back at Chad, "Did you cal me Kat, like with a 'k?' My mom used to call me that! Did I tell you to call me that?" She shook her head, turning back to Derek, "What is your name, and do you want my help?"
"Not a clue, so Chrys, or um, what is your name?" He asked wondering if he had hit his head as well as his stomach. He sat up and let out a groan. "So maybe she lost her memory or something."
"My name is not 'Chrys,' but if you like it so much, call me that. My name, however, is Diane Katerina. I haven't lost my memory, it's quite claer to me who I am. What's not clear is who you two are, or that thiing that keeps chirping at your back." She looked at Derek, "This is the last time I'll offer to help you. Do you want my help?" She asked, placing her hands on her hips.
Smith frowned and decided to stick with Kat now. "So, um Kat. Where do you think you are?" He asked carefully, and looked over at Joey, and decided to awnser her question. "Oh, and this thing is Joey, he's my little partner in crime." he said and attempted to stand up but gave up, after his stomach a moment.
"I'm Derek, don't you know that? What's the last thing you remember?" Derek gained his senses again. He was in a lot of pain. He wanted to get some rest, but he was just too confused. He had to figure things out.
"Well, my best memory is of this packet my mother had for my dad if he lost. It had all our names on it. We were siting in one of those courtrooms. Dude! Do you want my help or not?!" She screamed suddenly. "Now Derek, I don't have much patience, mom says i get it from Dad, but I will not help you unless you ask, like now!"
Smith laughed at the complete insanity at it all. "You know Kat, I think i've figured this out. How old do you think you are?" He asked and let out another laugh, he was sure he was right.
Reva felt as though she was slogging through mud her feet were so heavy as she led Juliano into the cave and left him to get comfortable. Her stomach cried out for the food she smelled so she snitched some meat, not caring what kind, and got out the berries she had found. Chewing seemed to take a lot of energy but her stomach wouldn't let her quit and she ate every scrap. Then she was thirsty and had to go to the spring to scoop up water and drink. Nothing had ever tasted better. The sounds of the others in the cave seemed far away. As Reva sat up straight and wiped her damp lips on her sleeve she realized that her muscles were quivering from weakness. She crawled to a higher part of the cave floor where it was dry, pulled her bundle of things under her head, and curled up on her side huddled into the leather jacket, tears of total exhaustion running down over the bridge of her nose, her temple, her wrist.
Chrys looked at herself as best she could, "Well, I'm obviously like sixteen, but.." She pondered, wiggling her fingers before her eyes, "But, my best memories are around my six birthday. But I kow that I couldn't live with my family, so I'm s'psed to be in the care of a FosterBorg. Who are you," she pointed at Chad, "by the way?" Then she whirled on Derek, "Doggonit, Derek, answer me?!"
"You're seventeen, you where arrested for something you told me i think but i can't recall. Well long story short, ship crashed, stranded on wierd planet, you told everyone your name was Chrys, I called you Kat because, well you act like a cat." He said and he gave Joey a small pat on the head. He looked at Derek. "I know you really don't like me but, well, you really should get that looked at."
Raylene went to the fire and pulled of a skewer of meat and began to eat it. It tasted incredible. She grabbed 2 more skewers and took them to Britney and Fox, then found her bag of belongings and found Reva laying down in a dry spot. "Mind if I lay next to you? I don't want to lay near the entrance or the psycho twins." She whispered the last part. Looking at down at Reva, she sees the telltale track of a single tear that had slid down Reva's face. "Are you OK?"
"Oh," CHrys responded , "Um, I probably tagged something, I was told to stop using markers on the wall, so I picked up sparay painting." She paced for a bit, then walked up to Derek, "I can't take it any more." She grabbed his shoulders, ignoring the wince on his face, then began to tear stips from the bottom of her pant legs.
Derek winced. "Thanks. I think my left arm is broken, and I know my nose is. I set it back into place." Derek bit his lip at the pain, taking it in but knowing it was necessary.
Fox sits there eating the food that Raylene handed to her. As the light reflects off of her cold, mercyless eyes, she stares at Allen. "Just a little longer, and your going to get what you deserve." thinks Fox. Britney sits there next to Fox. After making sure that no one was watching her, she puts her hand in the fire. The fire caresses her skin. It didn't burn her at all. "What is happening to me." thinks Britney.
"Ok, so now I hope you belive me, because I need to get dinner ready." he said and when glanceing over at the deer corpse he noticed the two dead bodies and frowned. "And get rid of two bodies." He added in a depressed tone.
