The Phoenix Colony

Chrys quielty started to wrap the upper part of his broken arm. Then ripped a triangular patch from her pants, and created a piece-meal sling for Derek's arm.

"Okay, I'm satisfied, for now." She sadi smiling, and scooting herself to the cave wall, wear she leaned against the wall. "Any food?" SHe said, reaching towards the Chocostrawberries, "Those look really good!"

 

Allen pulled his head back to the here and now. "I'll have to tell you later, when we're alone." He looked at the food. "Umm. I can't use my hands right now. This is kind of embarassing, but could you feed me?"

 

"WAIT!" He shouted at Kat. "You're allergic." he pointed out to her. "Vary allergic.

 

"Wait!" Derek said quickly, grabbing her wrist with his good hand. "You're allergic to those. They burn your skin. Here, try one of these." He handed her the nut he had in his pocket. "You have to break it open first, like a peanut."

 

"Allergic? Oh, okay. Thanks for telling me that." She smiled at Derek as she took the legume from him. She smashed it between her hands, and tasted it, "Tastes like apple butter." SHe said, unbelieving.

 

"Apple butter?" Derek said. He looked at Chad and pointed to Chrys with his thumb. "This b***h really is crazy." He laughed. "Alright, Kat, can you help me get some firewood? Chad, why don't you drag that deer in here. I'm starving and we need a fire and some food."

 

"Alright Allen, here," Ben stuck the meat in his mouth, and as he chewed, a look of pure orgasmic ecstasy on his face, Ben poured the water down his throat. "We talk later." Ben took his place once more after grabbing a bit of meat himself. After eating it quickly, he grabbed his shotgun and fell immediately to sleep.

 

"First the, um, dead guys. They might attract some unwanted attention, even though i haven't seen anything to dangerous around." he said weakly his face getting pale. He remembered he had killed this guy, for no reason exsept to save someone he didn't know. He frowned and walked over to the body of the man the gangster had killed and picked it up carefully. "Well you first." He told the corpse.

 

A shuffling sound approaching her towed Reva from her descent into sleep, pulling her unwillingly to the surface of consciousness.

"Mind if I lay next to you? I don't want to lay near the entrance or the psycho twins." Came a whisper. Raylene. "Are you OK?"

"Yeah," Reva whispered, her words slurred with sleep, "thass fine." She wetted her lips with her tongue which felt thick, "'m fine."

Then unconsciousness seemed to grab Reva in an iron silk embrace before cannonballing down...down into a black sea that closed overhead without even a ripple.

 

Chrys looked at herself, again, "I'm not a dog." She stood up, offering her hand to Derek, but using the other to grab the lighter out of her pocket, "This could help some, but it's my lucky number, don't hurt it." She said, tossing it to Chad, "What's that chirping thing?"

 

Britney lays down beside where Fox is sitting and falls asleep.

Afterwards, Fox stands up and says "Hey guys, I'll be the look out for tonight. Sleep well everyone." Fox walks to the entrance and sits down outside the cave.

She stares up at the moons. A little red haired girl, sits in her living room looking at pictures of space. Her mother walks in and hugs her. "Are you still looking at those pictures, again?" asks the mother. "Yeah. I wish that someday I could go into space and explore new worlds." says the little girl. Fox laughs a little and whispers "I guess the old saying is true, be careful what you wish for."

 

He caught the lighter with his free hand, the other one was holding the corpse. "It's a Rar-Roo, found it, I call him Joey." he said a bit more happily pocketing the lighter. He walked off into the woods a little ways hopeing that no one had smelt the blood yet and dumped it after he felt he had walked a ways. He looked down at the body wishing he had time to bury the body. Frowned down at it and turned to and started walking back towards the cave.

 

Derk and Chrys walked into the forest, "Ooh, lemme get a branck from up the tree?"

Chrys climbed up the tree, not waiting for an answer. She stood on a trre branch, looking down, "Hey, I ain't clutsy no more!" She screamed, starting to grab twigs and pull on branches, throwing them down, one after the other. "All done." She said after about an hour. Then she fell backwards, using her feet to guide her safely to the ground.

 

Smith had gotten rid of both bodies and had started cutting up the deer with a sharpish rock he had found. Joey sat on his shoulder happily nibling on a choco-berry. "Glad your happy." He complained to Joey as he roughly cut the skin from the deer. Joey just chirped at him happily and went about his meal. Smith paused only to look down at his blood stained hands and think of the man he had killed unnessisairly. He frowned but went back to work. He'd do what was nessisary to survive. He smiled, "Today was a pretty good day in all." He said as he finaly got the inerds out.

 

Derek picked up as much wood as he could in his broken arm. He was shivering. "Good job," he said between chattering teeth. "Now let's get back to the camp and get a fire going. Grab as much as you can."

 

"Mrow! Wait, did I jusT meow?" CHrys blurted as she scooped up the twigs and branches she'd thrown down.

"Off we go." She said, "You know something, I have no idea why I'm wearing this wrap on my ankle, there doesn't seem to be anything wrong with it."

 

"So you don't remember anything since we got here?" Derek asked, shrugging to shift the weight of the sticks in his arm.

 

"I guess I don't." Chrys mused, grabing Derek's load right out of his arm, "I 'll carry this stuff. Um, why do you not seem to like the other guy? And what's his name?"

 

Derek's heart sunk a little bit. He had been starting to grow kind of attached to Chrys. "He's Chad. I don't really trust him. You see, he's the guy that was guarding us on the ship that crashed here. I'm on of the criminals that was locked up. Don't worry, I didn't do anything too bad. I'll brush you up on the story once we get back and get a fire going. I'm freezing. In case you didn't notice, I lost my shirt to wounds and to make these gloves," he held his hands up in the air, "and all I have is this damned wifebeater."

 

"Oh, it seems understandable, but don't you want an ally? And I can swear these were baggy jeans when I got here. Yeah, they had tons of pockets. I've got an idea, but you can't make fun of it, kay. I'll need two needles that resemble long shafts. I'll tell you the rest when we get back to the camp." She said smiling, Why do I smile so much, never done that before.

 

"We can just carve the needles when we get back." Derek said. They walked for another couple of minutes, and were quickly in the cave. "Alright, just drop the wood there," he pointed a finger to a spot right in the middle of the cave. "I'll get the fire going." He felt around in the dark and found a rock, then pulled out his lighter.

 

Smith looked up and smiled at the two as they came back with arms full of wood. "You wouldn't happen to have a knife now would ya?" He asked Derek, as he began seperating some of the meat. "Kat you still got that taser I gave ya?" He asked her hopeing somebody hadn't taken it from her.

 

"The wah?" CHrys asked, dumping the wood on the ground, "I can certainly check." She said, emptying her pockets, "Nope...nu-uh-," a knife fell out, some pieces of paper, keys, "No, ah!" She said, holding the tazer out to Chad. "I guess I did." She smirked, "Uh, I need the two longest branches, I'm gonna try to weave blankets."

 

"Nah, no knife," Derek said. "Left pocket, I got a sharpened stake, but that's about it." He began moving the wood around, putting the kindling in the center, some medium sized wood on the top, and put the largest aside. He put his lighter in the middle and smashed it, spilling the butane on the kindling, but keeping the flint intact. He sparked it, and the fire was quickly ablaze, warming the cave.

 

"Keep the tazer." He said and snatched up the knife. "This on the other hand i'm going to borrow so i can get this deer cut up tonight." He said and went back to work on the deer carcus.
