Viva felt tears roll down her cheeks, but she didn't let them stay long. "Nothing that I'd like but that murderer inside of you tucked in." She didn't know why she was talking that way, but it was the best way to resist the urge to hug him and die crying. She turned to Chrys and felt annoyed. "What the hell is your problem?" She retorted, and then finished in a less hostile tone: "You don't want any trouble from this maniac."
Fox walks up to the two of them and says "Kat, that was a bad move. He could have killed you. Hell, I'm suprised he didn't. Viva, I know we can't decide who we fall for, but you need to get this thing settled. I don't want to sound insensitive, but we can't be worring about Pasha while we have an invisible monster to deal with. If I see him hurt another member of the tribe, I won't hesitate to kill him, so please keep him under control. You're probably the only one who can."
Chys let out a gasp, "Om my goodness! You-you have no clue, do you? I hate bieng like an animal," she said almost to herself. She stood up straight as possible, and tried hard to be serious, "Now, I'm not trying to play match maker, but-Well, you two let off the exact same 'love' signature, if you get my drift. It's annoying that you can't smell it because it's overwhelming to me, and I want to bash the two of you in already!"
Viva didn't receive a reply from Pasha as he sneered at her and walked away, not hearing Fox or Chrys. Viva wanted to throttle her own self to death, for wasting a good chance to talk things through, but she wasn't sure she could. She ignored the two ladies and walked back into the cave. "Whatever, we should be planning an attack on the beast, like Fox said." She mercilessly picked up Tatee and pinched her, at which it meowed angrily. Everyone's attention darted towards her. "Okay, enough said and done. We need to plan our attack, Reva." She looked towards Reva with a bold face.
Chrys growled under her breath, "i hate the scent of love, it makes me want to kill the things t comes off of." She stroms up a tree and starts scratching at the bark.
Raylene and Chad had to cross the stream to find more berries. All the bushes close to the cave had been stripped. "Have you figured out how to get that off your mou..." She stopped abruptly, mid sentence. The snow in front of her was stained red with tufts of fur scattered around the edges and there was a wide swath leading away, trailing entrails down the mountain side. "This is fresh, really fresh. It hasn't attracted scavengers yet. This means it's hunting during the day. I want to go home." Raylene grabbed Chad's hand and immediately felt a little safer, knowing he was there with her.
Smith nodded even though he knew he wouldn't have to. He held her hand tightly with his left hand and manuvered the rifle so that the sling held most of it's weight but gave him the ability to move and shoot it if need be. He led the way, eyes scanning for any signs of trouble even though he knew it shouldn't be nessisary, the creature had just eaten they should be safe, but their was no garentee that their wasn't more than one. While he had been searching with her he had completly forgotten to try and move the mouth plate, and know he was too intent on keeping a sharp eye out than anything else. He laughed inside at the thought of keeping a sharp eye out, one bad move, or attack and his glasses could be distroyed leaving him near blind, then she'd have to be his eyes too.
Raylene and Chad quickly crossed the stream and headed back to the cave. Raylene was out of breath when they arrived. Gasping for air, she managed to speak. "It's hunting during the day. Across the stream." She sat and tried to catch her breath. The fear inside of her was overwhelming. They had to make a plan and do it now. She looked around the cave to see if everyone was there. "Where's Pasha and Allen? Damnit, Chrys is gone too."
"So, the love birds are back. Pasha went hunting and Allen is off doing something. Our best bet is to lure it to Chad with something and then hit it with everything we have, while he distracts it." says Fox.
Smith didn't know what to think about being called a love bird, he probably would have blushed if his whole body wasn't red already. But he nodded at the lure it to chad part. He sent a thought to Raylene that he agreed. It would be safest for everyone for him to be the one attacked. He tried to move his face plate again and it only shock a bit. It seemed he'd be useing her as a midium for a bit longer. He had an inner laugh and he asked Raylene if he could think of her as Ray.
Chrys heard the converation below, and immediately jumped from her branch, landing right next to the group, "No, not yet, we don't have enough people on heand that can do much."
Raylene threw a dirty look at Fox for calling her and Chad lovebirds. What made her think that? She just was trying to help him since he can't speak at the moment. She didn't love him...she barely knew him. She doesn't even know what love is! She stands and walks back out side and begins pacing from the bonfire and back to the door. "Ok, where's Chrys?" Just then, she jumped out of the tree, scaring the poo out of Raylene. "Sure Chad, no problem. I guess I'll be speaking for The Rock until he can work that thing off his mouth."
"Kat is right. For now we shouldn't get too far ahead of ourselves. Besides, we are going to need Frank's group in this aswell. Oh and Chad, could you do me a favor? Would you please yell out 'its clobbering time', when the creature is near you?" says Fox with a smile.
"Well, then I guess tomorrow, we need to invite Frank back for a pow-wow. We have to be extra careful though. If we go out hunting or gathering, it has to be in pairs and always with someone who has a weapon. We'll need food for tomorrow. Do you think there's enough time before sunset to have a party go out hunting? We'll need at least 2 deer to feed all of us and Frank's group."
Chrys pipes in, "Oooh! I want to hunt, I wonder if I could do the whole lioness thing? I want to hunt! Can I hunt? CanI? CanI? CanI?" She startes jumping up and down with her hyperactiveness.
For the second time today smith shot Fox his best attempt at a murderus glance. He couldn't hold it long though he knew it was rather funny. He found himself becomeing more and more the groups pet rock just as Chrys was becomeing tha pet cat. He looked over at Chrys more cat like than ever, and as always doing strange things. At least her kind of personality was well suited for becomeing stranger. It actually fit her well, he hoped a moving rock didn't fit him. He looked over at Ray and thought that he should go to let franks group know they should come over, he didn't know who should accompany him though.
Raylene put her hand on Chryssy Kat's head. "Down girl. You can't go out by yourself. You have to have someone there to watch your back. I'll go back out with you, I'll take a few spears. Anyone else want to go?"
"Well you can't if you're going to be that loud. Ok, you two should go hunting. Take rocky over there with you if he wants to go." says Fox as she points to Chad, "I would worry about him and Raylene making out, but in his current condition, I don't think that will be an issue. As for our dinner with Frank tomorrow, we'll deal with that later. So for know, just worry about our dinner. You guys should take the rifle with you if it will make you feel more comfortable."
"Fox, stuff it! Chad, Chrys, let's go." Raylene was fuming. What the hell does she know anyway. She stormed into the cave to get a spear and then stormed right back out, bumping her shoulder into Fox as she past. As soon as they were out of ear shot, Raylene started on a tangent. "Why is she saying that? She's so irritating."
Smith nodded and followed Ray with out a second thought. He may be stupid sometimes, but he knew better than to get between to women fighting. He didn't care if his body was made from stone they'd find a way to kill him, he thought amused. Raylene started on a tangent. "Why is she saying that? She's so irritating." Smith just nodded, he couldn't blame her for the reaction, he'd probably be upset too if someone insinuated he was dating a boulder.
Allen moved quickly through the terrain. At one point he almost ran into a group of ceaders, but he was able to get around them without being seen or heard. As he moved silently along, his mind drifted to his question about Reva. For some reason it was eating at him to know why she felt that it was a random drug dealer's fault that she was in prison. She hadn't volunteered an answer, so he guessed it was time to ask and see what happened, when he got back.
Chrys looked over at Ray, "Oh Ray, give her a chance, she's really trying now. Sometimes humor falls short for some. Besides, I'm not trying to kill Viva, but I do want to kill a deer. Do ya'll promise not to think I'm too weird if I like, go all big cat on one of those deer?" Chrys asked, playing with her arms nervously.
"Chad! That's not why I'm upset at her, not the boulder part anyway. It's just that we go to the stream and all of a sudden we are married??? I don't understand it. Chrys, I'll let you do whatever that animal instinct inside you wants, just don't eat me!!!"
"I won't turn to cannibalism, I'm still human. It's abad attempt at humor, I don't get all mad when people are petting me and calling me Kat and stuff, I turn the other cheek because they're my friends. Fox is trying to make friends with everyone, she knows she got off to the wrong foot. Forget about it for now, just focus on the now, deal with her when she becomes part of a new now. Gosh, somebody shut me up!" She grins at Chad, "Can I borrow that mouthpiece?"
All Smith could think was that was how Fox was. She never did know what to say or when to say it. She had a habit of sticking her foot into her mouth. He felt kind of bad for making Ray even angryer. Smith held the rifle at the low ready and kept a careful eye out. They reached the stream with still no signs of any wild life. He thought to Ray to ask Chrys if she could smell anything, hopeing she wasn't mad at him. He ignored Chrys's joke, and thought that he'd give it up in a second if he could.
