Fox follows behind Kat. "Don't worry, I don't plan on calling them lovebirds when we get back. I just wish they would go ahead and admit that they are falling for each other." says Fox.
...They're doing more than falling...I hate this nose... "I think it's getting to the point where we're all worried that this planet will be home. Don't get surprised if there is a lot of pairing off. It's like high school back home, except it's actually about something and not just aesthetics."
"Is that so, Chrissy Kat." says Fox as she scratches Kat behind her ear, "So who do you plan on pairing off with. You always seemed to have a strong bond with Chad, so maybe you should try to keep him away from Raylene. Or perhaps you have a fondness for Cull or Juliano." Fox lets out a little laugh.
Chrys purrss a bit at the ear scratching, "Nobody. And Chad has always been like a brother, we only have a bond because we can never seem to stay seperated. As to keeping a person from another person, I find that futile. The body can be controlled, the mind cannot."
Fox and Kat reach Chad and Raylene. "Well it looks like you guys are getting cozy. Come on, we should head back to the cave. Or Chad, we can keep watch while you wash out your wound, if you want." says Fox with a grin.
Smith had been hopeing that she would say that. He had a week's worth of grim to wash off. "If you would please give me a few moments." He said and walked happily towards the water. It looked cold but he had numbed to the weather mostly. He hoped everyone was either turning away or not shy because he stripped off his pants and belt leaving only his boxers and jumped into the water where he sunk like a rock to the bottom supprising himself he stood up, and coughed a bit. "Go figure, rocks sink." He said as he began to scrub the grim off as best he could, being careful when he reached his wound. Raylene gave Fox another glare but turned around as Smith went to the water. She stifled a laugh as she heard him sink into the river and his thoughts and words on the matter.
"Hey Raylene, you stay here with Kat. You two should keep a look out, there is something I have to talk to Chad about. Oh, and Raylene, please keep from reading our minds while I'm doing it. Thanks." says Fox. Fox walks over to the river where Chad was standing in his boxers. She gives a quick whistle. "Looking good sexy. Why don't you give me a quick spin so I can see all of that body." says Fox with a grin, "There is a question that I want to ask you, but only answer if you plan on telling the truth. Are you falling in love with Raylene?"
Raylene wasn't sure what to make out of Fox's request but nodded that she would stay out of their minds while she asked the question. Fox was up to something, She thought. Smith heard Fox coming and then came the whistle. "Looking good sexy. Why don't you give me a quick spin so I can see all of that body." Her grin made him think that this must be another one of her bad joke. He glared at her for a second, he hadn't thought she'd go for a low blow about his looks, it wasn't his fault. Then came the shooker. "There is a question that I want to ask you, but only answer if you plan on telling the truth. Are you falling in love with Raylene?" Smith was stunned, he turned and looked back at the shore where Ray was sitting. Did he? Did she? He turned away, hiding his face, she must have heard that thought. "Fox what are you talking about?" He said angerly, sure he had either insulted Ray or hurt her feelings for not knowing. "What is up with you lately?"
"Look about the joke, I wasn't trying to be mean, I was just trying to get you to relax a little. Also, don't worry I asked Raylene not to read our thoughts while we are talking. Its obvious that you two are falling for each other. I can see it, and Kat can smell it. Now, there is something you really need to hear. Right before Brit died, she kissed me and told me that she loved me. I really did fall in love with her, at that moment. However, I was too shocked to say it to her before she died. And let me tell you, that f***ing hurts. Badly! You have no idea how badly I wish I could talk to her again, just to tell her how much I care about her. With the dangers on this planet you or Raylene could die at any moment. Hell, our mutations could be killing us for all we know. Don't be foolish. If you have feelings for her, tell her." says Fox.
He was angery, and confused at the same time. He looked back at Ray. He wanted to snap at Fox, and yet thank her for the advice, but what advice. He didn't even know how he felt himself. He thought he did, but that wasn't enough. He needed to know before he promised something like that. He glared at Fox for a moment. "I won't let Ray die." He said, the only thing he was sure of was that he would die first to save her. "For that case, Chrys won't go before me either, if i have any say in the matter." He countinued knowing how futile this all most sound. His exspresion softened. "I don't know." He said helplessly, and honestly. He looked up at Fox's eyes. "I just know that I won't let Ray get hurt anymore than i already have." He said and dunked his head under water hopeing to clear his thoughts. "If i survive long enough I'm going to give you a lesson on politacaly correct." He teased and went back to scrubbing his body, hoping he would know the awnser soon.
Fox laughs a little. "If I was as passive as you, I would never get anything accomplished. I know I rub people the wrong way at times, but I always tell them what I think. Also, you aren't the only one that will do whatever it takes to protect Raylene and Kat. I give you my word as a freedom fighter, I will do my best to protect them and the other members of this tribe. Though if something does happen don't blame yourself. Trust me, that is a pain that never goes away." says Fox.
It was Smith's turn to laugh a bit. "The word of a criminal? Well I guess it's good enough for me." He said and reached a hand over quickly and ruffled Fox's hair. "I know you mean well Fox, you've just got to learn how to talk to people, not warriors, normal people." He said and then added due to his face imobility. "Just in case you're wondering i'm smileing."
"Yeah, I could tell you were smiling by the look in you eyes." says Fox with a smile, "Oh, and I meant what I said earlier. You are far from being the most undesirable person here. You are actually quite handsome, even with the armor plates. You aren't my type, but Raylene is lucky to have someone like you."
He had always concidered himself cute but not much further than that and now he knew he was far on the other end of the scale. He appreiciated the lie though. "Thanks." He said and looked down at his reflection in the water, straining to keep happy eyes what ever they where. He saw a demon starring back at him, hard and immobile. It almost scared him. He could imagine wining first place in a holloween constume contest with this. Though Chrys might get a close second. Mainly due to the moveable tail of hers.
"So Chad, what was your life like before the crash? Do you have loved ones back on Earth? Was there anything important you wanted to do back there before the crash happened?" asks Fox.
"I lived in a one bedroom apartment, was gone half the time on those shuttles, and I really didn't have much of a life back there." He confessed. "I would have lived and died a good gaurd, and nothing more." He said wanting to smile at the thought, he probably would have raised himself a family eventually and his son or daughter would have become a gaurd too. "Funny how life tends to go in the most unexspected direction sometime." He said and looked back at his reflection. He'd probably end up on his own eventually, even if Ray liked him, there was only so good a relation ship you could have with some one who looked like a monster.
"Would you please stop looking at your reflection like that. You are the only one that thinks you look horrible. Please believe me when I says this. None of us think anything bad about the way you look. You are one of the few truely good people on this planet, and that's a list I can't honestly say I'm on. Raylene can see that, and that is why she loves you." says Fox.
Smith looked at Fox. "Does she?" He asked himself as well as Fox. "but for how long? How long could anyone wish to look at this face? I can bearly stand it's look, it's face, cold, immobile. How long till she decides that she hates me for wanting to keep her with me? How long till she realizes her mistake?" He said and looked down at his face and splashed some water on his face, then sunk down in the water, getting shoulder deep, he wished he could just wash all of this off. "We are going to need to head back soon." he pointed out.
Fox sighs and says "She hasn't told you about her past yet, has she? She was forced into marriage at a young age with a guy that would abuse her every day. After that, do you really think she would be willing to get close to someone unless she really felt a connection with them? And please trust me on this, she just wants a good person. She isn't going to care about what you look like, and like I said before, you don't look horrible. I guess if you're done cleaning, we should head back to Kat and Raylene. Just one last little thing, If you get some alone time with her, please tell her what you think of her, even if you're not sure about how you feel yet."
Smith stood up, he looked down at his body, at least it was clean now. He looked over at Fox, "You shouldn't have told me that. If she truly wanted me too know she would have let me know." He said and looked back at Ray and Chrys. "Thanks anyways Fox. I'll keep that in mind." He said and began to walk back to shore.
.....It was time to get back, the mission was done. The cavelieros were not a threat any more. This was his third mission involving them, and his last......Allen looked around and saw the camp. What the hell? He was supposed to be at the ship, how did he end up back here? A chill ran down his back as he realized that he couldn't remember what had happened between when he left and when he got back. What's happening? Allen turned his back on the camp and started heading for the nose of the ship again.......“If that is true,” she said tightly, “then YOU are the reason I am here.” For a moment Allen thought that she was going to hit him. “Hey, Reva, over here!” Reva left him behind, aparently not wanting to stay around any longer. "What do you think it was?" She looked back at Allen, "Oh, him? I fell over him and ended up splinting his arm. He was a drug dealer named Allen. And he's NOT my friend." Xare pulled out her gun, aiming it straight at him. "This guy is no f***ing drug dealer. He's one of the goverment's trained dogs, that helps them to make people disappear. How ironic that you would end up here, among common scum." says Fox. She tilts her head to the side and says "Aww, what happened. Did you p*** off the wrong politician. Or perhaps you found out a few too many of the goverment secrets. Its must have been your turn to disappear." in a tone that was a cross between playful and psychotic. She lowers her gun and says "Lucky for you, I can't go around wasting my bullets on scum like you.".... Allen moved through the trees. Up ahead there was a clearing. Quickly he moved in, it had to be the ship. When he stepped out of the trees, he knew that something was wrong, very wrong. He was back in the camp again.
Fox says "Relax, you had to learn it at some point." She follows chad back to where Raylene and Kat, are sitting. After thinking about it for a few seconds, Fox says "Hey Kat, we should talk in private."
Chrys looks up, just happy to be able to move, "I need some distraction man, those voices are like, echoing in my head. It's freaking me out." She sharts fidgeting with her fur, and unsheathing her claws.
Fox smiles and says "Come on, we should look around for anything we can use." She walks through the woods away from Raylene and Chad. She sits down and leans agaisnt a tree. "Hopefully Chad will do what I told him to do." says Fox.
"You, you are nosy miss. Have you ever heard of never meddling in the affairs of love? It alays gets somebody in trouble." Chrys shrugs, "And it's usually the mesenger." She climbs up the tree Fox is leaning against. "Oh, and by the way," she say, looking down, "If I could hear it, Ray might have been able to read it. Pineapple." She says, dropping a bunch.
