The real problem with self-insert characters

    For a character going to hell for various reasons, I would suggest the Sandman Slim series.

    Though it is an interesting take on the part of the hero's journey that involves entering the underworld and making your way through it.

    The only time I'd insert myself into one of my comics would be if the plot was based on something that's happened in my life or as a cameo, kinda like Stan Lee in the Marvel movies.
