Chicken feet aren't that bad. A little meatier than the finger part of the wing. Tastes like chicken too. Didn't care for the duck feet. Wouldn't have eaten the dog if I had known beforehand because, you know. Fido.
It's the toenails that put me off. I'm still dubious about the contents of the butcher's sausages... unlike the processed sausages, which contain mostly bread. On another food-related topic loosely linked to science. Why do products without added salt and sugar cost more than those with?
Because they're marketed to a health conscious crowd that tends to be upper-class and will spend more money than your regular consumer. We've made a fortune from selling "healthy" food to people rich and dumb enough to buy it. Too bad the organic bubble burst a few years ago. That was our greatest coup!
Alas, racket or not, we can't afford to eat out nearly as often as we used to. The price of a single meal for four people would buy groceries for at least several days, and we don't frequent the high end places in town.
Depends on which restaurants you eat in Unfortunately, we live in a popular tourist area and the restaurants up their prices for the terrorist season and then they don't go down. (in my experience) . I love eating out maybe twice per week but we are selective about where we go ... poor food and service it is recorded on Trip Advisor.
Nope. Food is expensive. So is labor, fuel, energy, insurance, everything. Up, up, up! And remarkably guest traffic continues to increase. No indications of recession in my world, but that could change in a week. That's the owner's problem. I'm just the operator.
(Sees last post. Driven by chaos, runs screaming from the room to check on the cat that was last seen in the black hole under the kitchen sink whose drain is moving slower and slower in keeping with the second law of thermodynamics which essentially states everything that isn't propped up is going to hell in a handbasket which is also falling apart.)
"terrorist" season; I like that, going to use it in the future. We call them tourons ; little bit of tourist; whole lot of moron.
I will say that electric cars are a hell of a lot quieter. I nearly got smoked by a Tesla today when I took a half step across the street without fully looking because I didn't hear any cars coming. Thankfully I got my head around in time to see the car I couldn't heat.
Interesting choice of words, considering I'm currently trying to learn about how to choose ebikes (or electric vehicles in general) that don't burst into flames randomly, as so many do. It can happen when recharging, or when riding. Apparently the main culprit is cheap Chinese batteries that aren't 'protected'. There's a little chip inside a protected battery that prevents it from overheating while recharging, and the cheapies just don't have these chips in them. I'm not sure if the chip helps with sudden flame-outs while riding. It's important to look into this if you're interested in getting any kind of electric vehicle, or even just rechargeable lithium-ion batteries. Here's some info (where they very carefully don't mention China, though that's the main source for the cheap batteries): 7 safety tips when buying, using, and storing electric bikes I would just consider this a starting point though if anyone is interested, and research much deeper. Many models of electric cars have been recalled for the same problem. Plus I've seen pictures of electric car graveyards in China where they just dump them by the thousands, and I remember a video of a bus basically exploding. In fact here it is:
