    The Spooky Halloween thread!

Discussion in 'The Lounge' started by WhispWillow, Oct 4, 2009.

With little under a month before Halloween I thought I'd start a thread about it, to get us into the Halloween spirit!

So, what are you dressing up as, and what are your plans?

    It's a toss up...
An evil witch...hehehe or a zombie cabaret singer from the 40's.

We are throwing a party Halloween night. It should be fun. :D

I am going with a Leafs #50 jersey, and a monster mask, as Jonas 'The Monster' Gustavsson.

I'm not sure! I have some Ideas. Matt and I were invited to a Halloween party (though if that doesn't go down still, then we'll surely go to some other event) so I've thought of ideal costumes...not sure which to choose:

    1) Morticia and Gomez Addams

    2) Wednesday and Puggsley

    3) Batman and Batwoman (lolol)

    4) The joker and Harleyquin (diiifficult costumes)

aaand i've yet to think of more.

I am going to conceal the tentacles and the chitinous mandibles, and masquerade as a human.

You have no idea how difficult and time consuming it is to prepare to go out in public.

Cogito, I was going to go as a human this year as well, but my gosh, it is so much effort to to even think about dressing up like a human that I just figured I'd avoid Halloween altogether.

We don't really do Halloween over here, but our living room is set for Halloween :p

    Genuinely had me laughing.

I don't plan on dressing up for Halloween. I'll end up spending it with my girlfriend of course. Nothing wrong there. Maybe, if the stars align just right; my girlfriend, my other friends (the non-intoxicated ones) and myself will have a little get-together. Probably watch some movies and eat lotsa candy.

Well hell, Whisp...just come on over that ocean and land in Florida...I'll hook you right up. We turn our home into a haunted house, complete with staging and music. The people always love it. We have requests this year for the sleeping Vampire...I have to find a willing volunteer. hint hint ;)

Seriously, it's always a lot of fun.

What a day to give birth!

Not sure what I'll do, seeing as that day is a Saturday and I've been more observant lately.

I've always wanted a Halloween baby! That's got to make for some fun birthday parties. Instead, I got a New Year's Eve baby.

It's my daughter's first Halloween & somehow my husband managed to convince me to allow her to go as Princess Leia. I am NOT a Star Wars fan.

As of right now I don't think we've got any Halloween parties to go to so I don't think me & the hubs are dressing up... if something happens & we do, I'll go as Padme & he wants to dress as Obi Wan (because he hates Annikan for some reason & has dressed as Darth Vader far too many times... apparently).

No one in our neighborhood trick-or-treats :)eek:) but it's not like a 9 month old needs candy anyways... though her parents sure would like some! We're taking her to Boo at the Zoo instead & to a kid-friendly Halloween festival downtown.

Some good costume ideas in here!

I'm not going to lie, there are some people (well, one person...everyone else has thought it was funny) who were offended by our costumes.

I am going as a Southern belle, and Joel is going as my darky.

Note: We don't mean this in a rude, racist way, more satirical.

OH, not at all. I live in the south, hell, South Carolina, and I'm not offended at all. It will be especially funny, since you don't seem to live in the southeast. Last year I was a gangster, and I went with two friends who were Hannah Montana and a Hippie. No worries. :D

I am not doing anything. My daughter is wanting to be a witch. Very exciting.

A good couples costume my husband and I did one year was: a socket and a plug. Not the european plugs.....just Canadian, and US. style

Extrememly easy to make, and such a crowd pleaser

Take a white pillow case, and cut out head and arm holes, and then glue socket shapes out of cardboard, and paint in the prong parts.

The plug is made out of cardboard, and tied around the waist.

Oh I'd love too! I'm all the way in little Ireland though! sounds like a lot of fun though! It's the one time of the year when you can really go all out and have a bit of fun!
sleeping vampire eh, do they have to be in a casket:eek:

A socket and plug Wordwizard, well it sure is different!

I'm thinking of the Joker myself, wanted to do it last year but didn't have the full costume so didn't bother! Will probably be creative and go all out with the makeup. Either that or I'll go as a punk

Friend: You should go as Abraham Lincoln. You've got the beard.

Me: I could do that....Wait a minute. Lincoln was notoriously ugly. Are you trying to say something?
