I'm pretty sure your football would be the same as our soccer
us american's are weird, while every single country in the world calls it football, we call it soccer, and our football is something totally different ;)

As the avatar suggests, I'm a pretty big hockey fan. I also like football, both North American and what we call soccer. Unfortunately it seems every team I like is terrible- the Leafs are struggling through a rebuild right now, and my other favourite team the Oakland Raiders are simply a disaster.

I guess the fun of supporting a team that's on a downturn is every single win is something to celebrate, whereas every loss can be brushed aside as helping the team get in range for a better pick. As long as the Leafs beat Montreal and help them miss the playoffs, this season will have been a success.

Unfortunately cricket isn't very popular in Canada and nearly impossible to find on tv- I'm sure we have a national team but I can't name a single person that plays for it. Then again, I didn't realise hockey could be played off ice until I was around ten.

thats a weird reason to like them. personally i dont like the english squad. i just have something against them i dont know why. the aussies were great last world cup. Matthew Hayden was beyond PHENOMENAL but i love India. Their batting line up is fantastic. Always look forward to seeing them bat.

That sounds like something a Canadian hockey fan would say- I don't know as much about field hockey but ice hockey is a very physical, violent sport. There are people here who think soccer is a 'ladies sport' because of the lack of contact.

fied hockey isn't rough. you'll get penalized for too much contact, the only danger lies in tackling from the wrong side and short corners which are like a nightmare for the defensive team.

They don't really monitor progress of clubs in Malaysia so im literally invisible to them right now, but ive filed a request and am still waiting on that. besides it'd be insanely expensive for me to take frequent trips back home every month for training and stuff.

    Sorry for the double post

But maybe when some major sports start we can have "fun muck about sporting comps"

Have some pick the winner leaderboard comps etc (if there was enough interest.

Im in one for Rugby league (not much around) $50,000 first prize (though there are 10,000 runners).

lol...NZ was 351/4 at stumps...Ross Taylor was the last player to go...outstanding...he and J.Ryder both made centuries and got NZ up from 24/3..lol...as must as it frustrates me, I applaud their talentss...they're brilliant batsmen(and R.Taylor's cute..:p)

IPL...I wonder how many players won't be coming...darn terrorists!
