I about had a couple heart attacks at the end of the game, there. Not a good way to end it, and our pass defense seriously needs to step up. It's bullshit, how they're playing now -- they can play so much better than this, I know they can. I love them and have faith in them, but something needs to click, and click fast. That being said, our offense is on top of the world right now, and Aaron looks like the MVP.
Im sorry Gigi. Theres always a chance somebody just as good will fill in his shoes! Your team is the only one with tough losses. The Rangers are lucky we aren't losing any core people...
Yeah, I'd hope we can play good moneyball and get somebody back, or in our wildest dreams, give Prince a contract he's happy with. We play good moneyball, but I don't think he'll be back all the same.
It all depends if he wants to stay or not, you guys need him alot. Maybe theres a chance you guys can get Jimmy Rollins? He's a good player and a free agent too!
Sports media, I will never understand you. You go from villifying the Eagles and trashing their every aspect to saying "they can't be stopped!" and "they're on a tear!" or whatever you're saying now. They're 3-4.
North American sports journalism is a joke. Stick with blogs for coverage, your mind will thank you for it Try being a Raiders fan But seriously, I think if the Patriots want another ring they're going to have to do it soon while Brady is still close to his prime. They're still one of the best teams in the AFC, but they seem to be on the decline, especially their defense. With the Bills on the rise and the Jets occasionally competent the AFC East is getting tougher to win. Bigger picture, after years of AFC dominance it looks like the NFC is the better conference now, and getting improvng every year. Except the West, which at this point in both the AFC and NFC may as well just be relegated to the CFL. edit: I guess the Eagles... slipped up... tonight? - some variant of this will be a headline tonight.
This year is proving to be more difficult. . . At the rate Brady is going, he seems to be literally handing out turnovers. And you're right, our offense is the better part, but it's still early in the season. As a side note, I so relish the thought of playing the Jets this Sunday.
In other news, Papelbon has signed with the Phillies for a reported $50 million four-year contract. . . I feel like the band is breaking up. Regardless of how last season ended, he was well on his way to a career-high season. And in addition to that, he set a Red Sox team record at 219 saves over six seasons, making him the best closer in team history. I think he best epitomized our team's spirit and sportsman spunk, and in some way I think he'll come to regret his decision.
FA Cup first round day today. We're at Swindon. My reaction to the draw was of utter despair - in terms of boring draws, Swindon away is as boring as it gets. Miles away, to a side we play year in year out. Dull. Couldn't care less if we lose either. Just so long as we don't pick up any injuries like last time, when Jonathan Douglas broke Gary Roberts' arm in a shocking challenge. I'm more bothered about Shane Killock, my old college mate, getting a call-up to the England 'C' international squad. England 'C' is the representative side for the best of non-league, and Shane's been doing well for Telford United, getting his career back on track since injuries put paid to his League career at HTFC and Oxford United. He's still only 22 and could get back in the League, given time, and this is a great stepping stone. Managed to find a stream for the match. Thank you landlady in Portsmouth for ensuring this is actually entirely legal, and up yours people who want people half a world away to be able to watch a football match while the die-hards have to sit out. It's going to be a noisy 90 minutes - come on, Huddersfield Town! Lost 4-1. Don't know why I fucking bothered.
Man, I couldn't have expected anything worse. That game was tension-filled, and it took our guys almost the first half to find their stride. Gronkowski was great. The guy is so huge, he runs like a tank and makes a catch by effortlessly raising his arm. McCourty's having some tests today, but hopefully we'll see him back next week. That new ref was also impressive. He took a bloody nose to break up that fumble by Brady. All in all, good game.
It has been a long, sad season for my Colts. I don't even look forward to Sundays anymore. Caldwell may need to look for a new job...
They should just make it official and name Peyton head coach, Caldwell is awful. They probably won't go winless but it's hard to see them winning more than two games, so they pretty much have Luck locked up. They'll be better in the long run because of this season, ugly as it's been.
Looking forward to the yearly DALLAS COWBOYS Thanksgiving game!!! And why oh WHY won't the NBA finish drawing up their contract? I wanna watch the Suns play. By the way, Steve Nash has a new clothes line, a formal clothes line.
The history books will show that from 1st January 2011 to (date still unknown) Huddersfield Town embarked on the longest ever unbeaten run in Football League history. Today the previous record fell as Town defeated Notts County 2-1. Nottingham Forest went 42 games unbeaten - Town have now gone 43. I doubt I'll see this record bettered in my lifetime. Now it's just a case of extending it for as long as possible. Next week, it's league-leaders Charlton at the Valley, where they're unbeaten.
ATP Tour Finals: Nadal beat Fish and Federer beat Tsonga yesterday. Murray was sadly beaten by Ferrer today. Wonder how they'll fare in their next matches.
After Alan Lee's suspension was upheld by a bunch of doddery old hypocrites yesterday, Town have gone out and signed a temporary replacement: Jon 'The Beast' Parkin. That he's called that should tip you off about what sort of player he is. He's an old-fashioned battering ram of a centre forward, standing 6'3" in height, 15 stone in weight and with 100 career goals to his name. Charlton's defenders will be bricking it at the prospect of facing him. I mean, how do you tackle the Beast?
NBA are a bunch of idiots and thugs. I won't be sorry if there is never another NBA season. Watch college basketball - it's much better. I hope Arkansas beats LSU simply to throw the BCS into turmoil
Never? Isn't that alittle too far yet? We only know that this current season is screwed... not the sport itself. Unless they go entirely bankrupt and default, then that would be very bad.
Today James Riley got pulled in the expansion draft to go to the new Montreal Impact, meaning he is no longer the Sounders right-back. I could rant about this, I'm plenty upset, but I don't want to get riled up again. Instead I wish him luck playing for Chivas (he got trade by Montreal to Chivas) I know he will play with the same dedication and ability he has for the last three fantastic years with the Sounders. His commitment to the community will be missed as well and obviously I will now have to start watching Chivas. Riley was and still is my all-time favorite soccer player/athlete and one of my heros. I will miss seeing him in rave green. (I will also miss seeing Tyson Wahl who was just traded to Montreal, he really grew and impressed me this season and I'm sure that will continue with the Impact.)
Speaking of the MLS, here's a move that perfectly reflects Toronto FC managment, and MLSE on the whole: team star and Toronto native Dwayne de Rosario was in the last year of his contract at the start of the season, and asked for an extension. The club rewarded his service by shipping him off to DC United. He went on to win the league MVP, while Toronto FC still has yet to make the playoffs even once. They still have some of the most expensive tickets in the league. This move can only be followed up by the Leafs dumping NHL leading scorer Phil Kessel, and his co-star Joffrey Lupul, and the Raptors... well, okay, it's not like the Raptors have any players worth keeping as it is.
