MK Dons 0-2 Huddersfield Town (League One play-off semi-final, first leg).

GET IN! Belting performance, great result. Eleven heroes bringing a lead back to a full house at the Galpharm with the scent of Wembley in their nostrils. Now we just need an early goal to settle nerves and get the ground absolutely rocking.

So... Champions League final. Any predictions?

I'm thinking Bayern Munich might just do the deed tonight.

French Open. :D Love this time of year when there's actually TV coverage of the tennis tournaments. I don't think ITV4 is showing Nadal's match today because of the British players in action... :( Sigh, I want to drool over Nadal.

Edit: Okay, so I saw about half of Nadal's match and it was goood. He won, as expected, so all good. And I'm now watching Murray.

I miss football. The Brewers are terrible this year, not that anyone expected any different with this offseason, but still, ouch.

It's hard not to be excited for the Wimbledon final on Sunday. If Murray wins, he'll put himself, finally, alongside the three greats of his generation and will probably go on to win more majors. If Federer wins he regains #1, breaks even more records and, if there was any doubt, further cements himself as the greatest player in tennis history and one of the best athletes of his generation. Part of me wants Murray to win because if anyone ever deserved to win their first major tournament, it's him. At the same time, who knows if Federer will ever have another chance? I find it impossible to root against either of them, and merely wish the level of play is worthy of all the history riding on it.

^ I'm excited for the men's final too. I'm supporting Murray - he deserves to win his first grand slam. Federer has won enough and I've never liked him that much (but he's obviously a nice person - I can see that from interviews), although I can admire his tennis skills. It's a big final with history riding on it and I agree with wishing for that level of play.

As for the women's final today, I don't think it'll be that interesting. Serena Williams v Radwanska and I just have a feeling Serena will dominate the match. I wish the Williams sisters would go away, they've dominated enough. :p Come on, Radwanska!

Question is, will Murray cry after another finals defeat? ;)

Both are in rad form, but i actually think Andy has a great, chance. I can't pick it.

The real question will be, can Murray handle the sitation of a Brit having a chance, over actually playing the Fed. I say this because Ferderer will be ready first serve of the match and if he isn't, well it might be the difference.

    Edit

Can't say i was interested in the womens draw this year, but the final is looking....one sided.

Wonder if there has ever been a 6-0 6-0 final before (saying this as it's almost 5-1 now)

Wimbledon women's final: Looks a little one sided in terms of how each player has won their set (S.Williams 6-1, Radwanska 7-5), but I'm glad it's gone to three sets. All to play for now. Come on, Radwanska!

I think Federer takes it- this is Murray's best chance to win one so far, but Federer is playing as well as he has since the Australian Open 2010. Should Federer get either an early break, or win the first set, I think he's going run away with it. If not, it's going to be long, close, and decided by just a few points. Even then I give the edge to Federer, but Murray is playing really confident tennis.

I hate to agree but with Federer's experience and his 16(?) grand slams, I'm expecting him to win it. BUT, I'm obviously supporting Murray and he does have the ability to beat Federer I think. Come on, Murray!

Also, yesterday, why did I not watch the men's doubles final?! I missed an awesome match! Congrats to Marray(British)/Nielsen for breaking British tennis history for winning the men's doubles, even more so on a wild card entry!

    Woah, great match so far.

I mean Federer is far from having a good match. He looks like his a gear down, yeat somehow he wins the second set. Bloody strange match.

Still can't pick a winner. If Federer plays better, i don't think Murray can do it, but i don't know if Federer will find that missing gear, yet he'll probably still get it done.

It was definitely turning in Federer's favour when the delay hit... wonder if this helps Murray or hurts him?

    Third set, the money set!

I think the break will actually help Federer. i mean he only had the one really good game at the end. Didn't mean much in my opinion (even if it won him the set).

Actually, i have no idea. Enjoying it thugh considering i was watching, The Tour of France, Formula One and Moto GP all at once. The Tennis is all that's left, so time to enjoy.

Awesome match so far! :D Come on, Murray!

I'm not sure if this break for the roof closing will hinder Murray or Federer more though. :S

A 40 minute break is rubbish. Is it still raining?

The roof is so slow. i know it's a stupid thing to complain about (Yes, i remember the days of no roof), but its a long bloody wait.

At least we don't have to wait for the rain to stop, but yeah... how does it take the new roof of Wimbledon longer to close than the 20+ year old Skydome... a baseball/football stadium?

Federer has almost never lost playing indoors, so I guess if Murray wins that's another piece of history for him.

Edit: Incredible game there, but unfortunate for Murray. He made some great shots (inevitable I guess when the game is almost 20 minutes long) but his second serve abandoned him. Big service game for Federer here...

So, Murray will still be a Scot at days end.

As great as the 17 minute game was, this game feels dead atmosphere wise since the return.

Yeah, it's tough to see him coming back now... At least he was British for one set. You have to think he'll win one of these eventually, but with Federer/Djokovic/Nadal... hopefully this won't discourage him. Anyone good enough to make 4 finals is good enough to win a title eventually.

His a step up from Henmen(sp).

Didn't Andy have break points deep into the second set? If only he got them, it could have been a totally different game.

It just annoys me how he plays so well then throws in some brainless shots, just so he think he can pull the trigger a little earlier.

Eh, it's 3am here and i don't know, just a little bored with the match actually. Its been an odd tournament. Federer was in my opinion the play of the tourn before this match anyway.

    Bet Nadal is kicking himself.

He was also up 40-0 in the 18 minute game last set. So many ways it could have gone differently, but that's tennis and a few points and critical times are the difference between 4 time major champion Andy Murray and 'he's British until he loses' Andy Murray.

Yeah, this was much closer than his other finals, and much closer than the scoreline. It was pretty much even- we should probably be talking about a 5th set here- where as in the others he got into trouble early and got down on himself. Just like after the 2nd, and especially after the 18 minute game he got negative and his game slipped. But credit to Federer, he improved as the match went along, and he took advantage of just enough opportunities to win.

When Murray gets his first major, he'll probably become unbeatable, so let the old men win another slam. ;)

Watch him win the Olympics, and no one will be sure if it counts as a major or not.

As for Federer, after he lost #1 last time, it was hard to see him finding a way to get it back. Especially after Djokovic last year. Yet here he is, and in all probability in two weeks he'll have himself another record. He's pretty good.

Well when he was at his best, he was the definition of tennis in my opinion. As good as the others are, they'll never be as good as federer when he was at his peak. So i'm not suprised he has a few suprises up his sleeve.

    3:30am. Bed time.
