    The Things I Love Post!

Discussion in 'The Lounge' started by k.little90, Jul 23, 2009.

So I was thinking about life in general today, and was like "wow, I have it pretty good." All these things are what make my life AMAZING.

I love to go horseback riding on my 5 year old mare who thinks she is the queen of the world.
I love to play lacrosse. On the other end, I love coaching Lacrosse.
    I love to write :D
    I love to cook.
I love to a) sing in the shower where no one can hear me or b) sing in the car with the windows rolled up with my blue tooth in my ear to make it look like I'm yelling at someone. :D
I love my dog that chews up everything that isn't nailed to the ceiling.
I love my crappy breaking down astro van that I don't have to make car payments on.
I love my family, all of whom have an unhealthy obsession with scaring my love interests, even my little 11-year-old brother. Thanks guys :p.
I love kissing in the rain.
I love spending my only day off during the week lounging around in my house doing absolutely nothing even though I have like a million things I should be doing.

I could go on and on forever. What about all of you? What are some things that you do in your life that you love, that makes it absolutely worth every hardship you go through? Let's hear it!

I love to sit and drink myself to introspection
I love to fight reality in open insurrection
I love to eschew the prose with creative diction
And I love to speak as if I need a Thorazine prescription

I love to create destruction in conflicting harmonies
I love to be the one with the vaccinations full of disease
I love to pray to God while practicing idolatry
And I love to make all Ten Commandments "Thou shalt practice anarchy"

Most of all I love to talk, to spread rumors and lies
I love to be the man everyone loves to despise
I love the look of hatred I get from the worlds eyes
And I love to be a poet writing from the other side

    Found it fitting. :D

    (That was SHAMELESS, Torana!) :D

I love walking down to the silent lake on a foggy morning, and watch smoky wisps curling up from the water. It's so quiet you can almost hear the dew dripping from the grass. In that silence, even my thoughts stop rushing hither and yon. Peace rules.

I love making my way to the Galpharm before big matches, feeling the anticipation and excitement build up as I see the arches above the South Stand arc over the horizon, then hearing the click of turnstiles as I make my way into the Kilner Bank. Once in the stand, I love to feel the waves of sound roll off the crowd in the moments before kick-off. If we're ahead in the last ten minutes, I love to feel the stand physically bouncing beneath my feet, giving an inch or so in time with the drum as the massed thousands support the team, throats growing hoarse from shouts and chants. When the final whistle goes, I love to experience the emotions of grown men all around, as they embrace and celebrate victory, before one final, lusty chorus of 'Smile Awhile'.

I also love quiet days spend reading by the pond in the back garden, where the sun falls through the leaves of trees, creating a dappled effect across the garden. Then I'll receive a phone call in the evening, and the latter part of the day will be spent in the hazy evening sunlight in the scenic surroundings of the Hare and Hounds, accompanied by friends and a cold drink.

I love performing music. Specifically when you reach the apex of the song. The part that you've worked so hard to perfect and manage to pull it off flawlessly. The part that makes the rest of the song's apparent shortcomings seem trivial.
You throw your head back, let the notes roll out, proud and strong, and it feels as if you're beginning to ascend on high.
The feeling has that much more meaning when you open your eyes and notice a few people in the audience (the one's who are into the music) who are either playing the spectator and smiling in congratulations at witnessing the moment or, the rare few who have actually just come back down from ascending with you.
There's really not a whole lot that tops that, for me.

I love being able to come home to Joel after a long day of work.
I love standing out on our back porch in the middle of a storm, feeling and listening to the wind and the rain.
And I love feeling inspired, whether it be by a book, a movie, or anything else.

Driving down the freeway with the windows down during a blinding rainstorm.

Checking out the reactions of the passengers in the other cars.

    I have no shame! BAHAHAHAHA!

I also love it when people follow the rules of the poetry contest. Makes my job easier and I don't have to be an ogre and remove entries and have people hate me for it.
