And if I were asked to choose between music and genuine love and acceptance I'd be hard pressed to give an answer.

Glossy period films that evoke absolutely no sense of the time. Pin-sharp photography, bright lighting and everyone looking like they just stepped off the cover of Vouge magazine.

Well that’s quite a love for music you have there. Me? Music? Meh.

My Lloyds’ banking app was brilliant. At the top of the page it showed two figures - balance and available balance (your balance + any agreed overdraft), so when logging on I could see instantly where I was financially. Today I had a message telling me about imminent changes which will alter the way balances are displayed. There will still be two figures, but the second one will now show the agreed overdraft in place of available balance. So now when I log on I have to mentally add my overdraft to my balance to get my available balance. An utterly pointless and unnessarry change.

Men who think you can't lift anything heavy at job just because you're a woman.
Women who plays along so that they won't have to do anything mildly inconvenient.
Seriously - the job has a lot to do with moving heavy boxes, if you can't do that you're probably not a good fit for the job!

Unrelated - the fact that my neighbor opening their door sounds like they're opening ours instead. I especially hate it when Lost is away.

People I know from school talking shit about millennials, not realizing that the qualifications for being a millennial means being born between 1980 and 2000 and by this standard they are, in fact, talking shit about themselves.

Annoying how the lead story on every TV newscast is 'Breaking News', even if it's a story about something that happened a week ago.

Well, I was born in 1978, so I can bash them all I want! I interviewed one the other day. They asked me if we practiced sustainability. I said, yes, we serve them food and take their money, thereby sustaining their life and sustaining our ability to pay our bills. They didn't get the humor. It was a short interview.

In the UK at least, I think there is a subset that can be defined by whether you ever had to give someone 3 rings.

And modern hairdos that are going to look dated in 20 years (the movie version of Pride and Prejudice) and badly researched costumes (not so much of it these days, thankfully.)

Do you remember ever seeing the movie Barry Lyndon? I think it came out in the 1970s, but am not sure of the date. It was one of the first movies shot using only natural lighting, and wow. It looked amazing, and the feeling of the period was really there. It's one of those movies I've always intended to watch again, but never have.

I know of the film but have never watched it. I think I’ll call in at my local Cex and see if they have a copy.

It was both praised and censured. Praised because it is truly a beautiful movie, innovatively conceived and produced. Censured because many people wanted a more emotional experience. The movie created a fair amount of emotional distance between the audience and the characters, and some didn't like that. However, I believe that's a common characteristic of most of Kubrick's films.

Many people now list Barry Lyndon as Kubrick's best film. However, there are a lot of contenders for that honour.

Ford's cute little electric crossover may be a fine car, but it isn't a Mustang.

I'm sorry, I only write (very occasional) crap flash and bad poetry these days. If you want it as flash it's already there. Poetry I'd have to work on it.

So, like three or four days ago, my post count and likes received matched perfectly. I didn't even notice the counts before then, until it caught the corner of my eye. Now I'm obsessed with them. Obviously, it's way better to have a high likes received to messages ratio, because that means that you're connecting with people and that's always cool. But this one dark part of my brain desperately wants the numbers in a 1:1 ratio for no sane explainable reason. It's stupid that my head works that way, and it's messing with me and I kinda hate it.

That's not even proper OCD. I don't know if there's a name for it...
