Netflix recommendations. Wanted to see if they had the Rockford Files, they don't, but apparently the closest they had is The Tiger King (because of course), Rust Valley Restorers, and Coming To America. I may be a common pleb, but I don't really see the connection.
When reviewers give you a lengthy summary of a book. I know what happened in the book, I just read it. Now I want to hear your thoughts on it.
Maybe this doesn't belong in here, strictly speaking, as I think my annoyance is justified. Anyway, it's international ebay sellers who reverse the item price and postage costs, so that they appear in search results at a massively reduced price. For example a camera that sells for between £300 - £350 within the UK, but then you see them listed at £35 from Germany or Thailand, with a £300 postage charge. I'm not even sure what they're doing is legal. Surely they have to somehow prove that this is how much it would cost them in postage. If they can't show evidence of that (which clearly they couldn't) then why are they allowed to charge it?
They can charge whatever they want for shipping and handling. Someone has to bag and box your item. It's their prerogative if that person is paid 300$ an hour.
Another thing that pisses me off, still camera related. I was searching around and found an article titled 'The best compact cameras for any budget' so I followed the link. It took me to the Wired website and of the six cameras listed, not one was priced below £400. In what fucked up, fantasy realm is that catering for 'any budget' ????
I experienced this before with a guy selling a memory-drive that was no longer manufactured. People were underbidding, trying to bully him out of his product, so he offered it for $1, and charged $330 for 'processing'. People thought they were buying a trinket or were genuinely trying to screw him over, but I knew what it really was and wanted it for my lab, so I messaged him for his best deal, and he shipped for free. After some research, I got a cracking deal. Underbidders are usually buying to resell, so they can kiss my ass for ruining the spirit of the system. Follow the money, and call the bad-guys out on their bullshit. Good luck.
Compact system or mirrorless, interchangeable lens ideally. But it must have a viewfinder. I've got one arriving tomorrow hopefully, so no desperate panic. I've just got a bit of a bug for cameras right now.
It's a dodge on either taxes or ebay fees or both. Item price is straight-up earnings, but the S&H gets figured differently. Dark grey zone, but not actually forbidden.
What are you finding? I had a Lumix with a viewfinder I loved, but I broke it (a little too easily), so I'm looking again. I'll fix the other one later.
Not a lot with an £80 price tag (I just spent £130 but it's only money, innit?) And you broke what, the viewfinder or the camera? Which Lumix was it? And was it a built in VF or an external attachment type? There's a couple of cameras on amazon I'd buy in a heartbeat. Gorgeous things but no viewfinder, and I hate the attachment viewfinders as they look hideous when attached to the camera. All these are in my price range, and all gorgeous (the Olympus is a god-damn work of art!), but not a single VF between them.
I don't know if you'll find this helpful, but here's where fb comes in handy. I've joined a greek group for used cameras and photographic equipment and sometimes they post good shit. For example I just found a canon m6 with all its original kit for 400 eu, with 10.000 clicks. I can contact the seller, take the cam at a shop that evaluates its condition, since I'm no expert in this area and then make my purchase if it's worthy. It doesn't even have to be at fb. Perhaps there are UK sites that you can find apart from ebay. It's always good to be able to check if the camera is indeed in good condition, before making a buy. Some second hand stuff can be value for money in great condition.
I've searched long and hard. I won't join FB, even if it means increasing my chances of finding a good deal on cameras, so that's a no-no. I know plenty of people who do FB, though, so I could do it through them I suppose. In fact the camera I just bought was found in a general search. It took me back to ebay, but it was a sale I'd never have found through ebay itself for whatever reason.
I see this on amazon as well. Sometimes it's just blatant listing manipulation, when the price is set just €/$ 0.01 below the next cheapest listing...
I think he's simply saying there are many many digital cameras available with built in viewfinders, which is very true, but if this is what he means, then he's failed to understand that it is a specific type of diginal camera I'm looking for, not just generic point & shoots. Mirrorless and compact system cameras with interchangeable lens and a viewfinder at sub £100 even used are very thin on the ground.
My dog (again) I think she likes for both my husband and i to be awake at the same time. Hes in the kitchen and im sleeping in. My dog keeps coming in the bedroom, whining and licking my face for me to get up. After 30mins of this, shes won. I am now up......
I have a keen interest in biology and physiology and every single biology/physiology book contains an introductory chapter on cell biology/physiology. I swear to god I have read about the cell a hundred times now. I really shouldn't be annoyed as if I was confident in my knowledge about the cell, I could safely skip this part. I suppose repetition never hurt, and sometimes I learn something completely new. Or the very least learn to see things in a different way.
My boggle is finding thru-the-lens VF in the smallest size. I just can't see that display. I had a big fat SLR collecting dust cause I don't lug it around.
