That the Korean and Japanese languages, at a minimum, have been excluded from the Altaic language theory. It sounded really cool when I was 18 and being parboiled into Korean.
Person to me wanting me to fix it: i cant tell the difference between these 2 things. You need to fix it. Me to person: its in the description. The description lets you know which is which. Person: well, i dont read the descriptions. Me:......... (My thoughts: well that sounds like a personal problem ) (Im too young to be an old curmudgeonly librarian )
Watching Rocky. I admit I haven't seen many films that depict the sport of boxing in the last 30 years or so, but it annoys me the way actors jerk their head backwards to simulate a jab from their opponent. Even the great Scorsese is guilty of this in Raging Bull. When these people in films - the stunt men, fight choreographers, etc etc, watch real fights as research, why can't they see this isn't how it looks?
In the filming of Rocky, Stallone suffered bruised ribs and Carl Weathers got his nose broken. In Rocky IV Dolph hit Stallone so hard he injured his heart and hospitalized him for four days. Michael B. Jordan got KOed for real in fight rehearsal, and Hulk Hogan almost broke Stallone's collarbone. I'll give them a pass on some fake headshots.
Google mail went down today. I got to have an enforced break from work emails. I suppose I'm grumpy because now I have 2 days of backlogged work to catch up on. Still, I should be happy for the break, right?
I freaked out about that this morning to @Gladiolus83 because i couldnt access my email or my WIPs in my google docs. I figured out that it was a global thing. Lives messages from all over were coming in about it. Like a dork, i monitored the messages until someone from the US (Florida) said "its back on!" Then i jumped back on Google drives
Websites like Not On the High Street. Oh, we've got a trendy looking website that people will plaster all over social media, and where people with more money than sense will flock to. Let's charge £59.00 for a leather bracelet. I mean, yes, you can get the same thing on amazon for £2.99 but shush!
Amazon over this way is the expensive trendy website. For some reason they think Aussies will flock to it and spend 3-4 times what it costs elsewhere. They're currently scratching their heads over why Australia hasn't been a ripping success compared to other countries. If they pay me enough I'll painstakingly explain it in mono syllables to them.
It annoys me how terrible the continuity is in TV and film. I mean just how difficult can it be for the person whose only job is to make sure everything in a scene stays the same, to notice the co-star was wearing a red sweater the last time they shot, not a black one. Or that the doctor was wearing surgical gloves?
Drives me nuts. I've developed a habit of watching a clock if one is in the scene. All too often, hours will go by when minutes pass in the scene. I've seen actors walk out of a scene and walk back in minutes later with a different hairstyle.
<otaku hat firmly on> Anime that finishes on a cliffhanger and then isn't popular enough to get a second season. They're really starting to piss me off now. </otaku hat off>
Or any TV show these days for that matter. Siren is an example, it's 3rd season ended on a cliffhanger, and after fans wondered when it'd get renewed, we got an answer from the creators many months later: they cancelled it due to low ratings! Same thing happened to a few other shows I got into when they were new, but I can't remember what they were. Siren just sticks out among them. Why are all the good shows in this day and age being cancelled and all the crap/woke ones (in my opinion) still going? This is why I stick to the old shows that are still airing.
The way superficial people say "aww" when I tell them something bad that happened. I know it's no their fault they are shallow, but it still annoys the hell out of me.
