Good morning, afternoon, evening—whatever circumstances your time zone currently affords. My name is Michael and I am not a writer, at least not in any literary sense. I’m not even sure I would say that I pursue it as an avocation. The truth is, I have one of those “constantly seeks to improve themselves” types of personality. To wit, I picked up a book about a week ago titled, “A Picture is Worth 1,000 Words.” On each page is a somewhat abstracted picture with instructions to write a narrative about it. So, I started the process and completed my first story. It ended up being roughly 3,000 words in length. Ah—pruning is an art onto itself, no? Or is pruning merely a technical procedure? Either way, I have come to realize after this first exercise, there is much to learn about the writing process. So, here I am. My brain is spongy and ready to absorb.
