I tried to edit a writing workshop post to let readers know that there was an updated version, but it told me that once 1440 minutes have elapsed, no edits can be made. I don't want people to read an older version with mistakes that have already been corrected and I don't wanna make a new thread either. What should I do? I know a lot of reviewers, including myself, do not like to scroll down and read other reviews before giving their own. ~ J. J.
I will raise this with Daniel. There should not be an arbitrary time limit on editing posts. It may have been a side effect of a site software upgrade. Members should be able to edit their own posts, as long as they don't do so to attempt to cover up rule violations or to vandalize threads.
Yeah this happened to me once too! Same problem, wanted to edit my original post to let readers know a new version of my story was up (this was in the workshop) and it didn't let me In my case, there wasn't even an "edit" button anymore.
bless you, o most wondrous of site owners/administrators! seriously, you have my eternal gratitude for having gotten this site going and keeping it going as the best of all writing sites on the net all these years... the site remains at the top of my writing sites list and you're at the top of my short list for sainthood... love and hugs, maia
