Today I learned that some people just don't listen. (I knew that already, but I didn't think a job-placement agent would ... and in writing, too). 'm on LinkedIn, but I never use it for much. I used to be more active on it when I was unemployed, to look for jobs and such. However, I now have a full-time, permanent position, so I'm only on the lookout for similarly permanent positions. (They're few and far between, but they exist). Anyway, I got a message from an agent offering me a 3-month contract ... on the very other side of town (which would take me about 2 hours to get to). I thanked him politely, pointed out why that wouldn't work, and wished him luck. Then, the very next day (Tuesday), he sent me another message: "I have a 12-month contract. Would you be interested?" Gee whiz! Let me think about that for a moment ...
