How do I do this and what disk do I use? Is it able to be put back on/off my pc as many times as needed?how much data can that disk hold? Have you ever done this?
Just use a CDR and create a data disc with it. (When you put it into your PC, it should auto-open several options. Select to create a data disc.) CDRs generally have about 700mb of space available. One problem with saving it as a microsoft X file would of course be the inability to open it in any other program. You'd need to convert the file or use the same program to open it again. So long as the disc is intact and not corrupted, you should be able to pull the file off of it as many times as you like. Once the CDR has been written on with data, you can never write on it again, though. (Unless it's a re-writable disc) Personally, I only use CDRs for audio discs and sometimes games as well. For documents and other files, I typically use a USB flash drive. Much easier then a disc and it can be written over as many times as you want. Much more storage space too.
