Christina Grimme's performance was a tad less than previous nights until she got to that falsetto ending and then, wow, she killed it!
I enjoy it, and they made the last episode fulfill exactly what I thought was going to happen. Floki pleased me. I'd have to say Lagartha is my favorite character, though. I wonder if this will follow historical mythologies and eventually Ragnar's sons will become featured in a time skip? What they do with Ivar the Boneless will really interest me--if he's crippled, he must fit the historical stories somehow, perhaps with a longbow.
I hated Floki through all second season, but he redeemed himself in one minute in the last episode. Lagertha is great and I like the grown up Bjorn. When he was little he was a whiny bitch, like Joffrey or Draco Malfoy. I hope the show will follow historical events, but that's not guarranted. Klondike for example, is a Discovery Channel show, but it was critized for not being so true to real events. For Vikings it is a bit difficiult, since it is not confirmed if Ragnar was a real person (his sons were, like you mentioned), so multiple theories are possible here. One theory says that Ragnar could actually be King Horik. But true or not, there is Ragnar's Saga and he is a legend.
This show looks like it will be so good...they never had shows like this on television when I was into comic books.
The Voice Much as I like Christina Grimmie, after last night I would have chosen Kristen Merlin over Grimmie. But down to the top 4, the above 2 plus Jake and Josh, they were all top notch. I think Josh deserves to be the winner.
I'll tune in for a few episodes but I'm not expecting much.. it just looks like it's going to be another detective show but with more brooding. I was disappointed with Agents of Shield because it didn't feel like I was watching something in the Marvel universe. I mean I don't expect to see heroes in every episode--the episode to episode plots just felt so cliche and generic. So i stopped watching. Maybe it got better. I feel like Gotham will be the same way.. like the show is just there to build hype for the Justice League movie.
God, I can't wait for the day- Sherlock returns. It's such a good series, yet the wait lasts till 2016 for the next season.
Yeah, I get what you mean about about Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D, it was quite disappointing- I was expecting a lot more. Though if you truly want a superhero show I'd recommend Arrow- which is very good. Though it slightly struggles in a few parts in the first season the second season is truly amazing! And from the very creators of Arrow- comes flash. It looks very very good. In fact quite excited for it.
You and me both. In fact, I let loose a shriek when I heard about it during the Arrow season finale. I've been a fan of the Flash since the early 60's, and this one looks like it could do justice to the DC Comics hero, a mix of traditional Silver Age Flash and New 52. It's going to be a long summer.
Crap, watching NCIS and they just ruined the show with medical stupidity. Supposedly it took the team to figure out there was an outbreak of meningococcal infection, a strain we don't see here often. Do they have no medical consultants at all? It doesn't take anything special to find meningococcal bacteria, regardless of the strain and all it takes is a culture and sensitivity to find the right antibiotic. And the timeline and route of transmission was all wrong, just wrong. Gag.
Just watched the very first episode of the first season of Utopia. Grisly eye torture! Gotta love it.
Just finished binge-watching the entire Twin Peaks series. It bogged down in the middle of the second season, but blossomed back to full-on freak show at the end. I still kind of wish there had been a third season, but then again, resolving things would have wrecked it. Revealing Laura Palmer's killer fairly early in season 2 took an ice pick to the momentum as it is.
For some reason, I get the urge to binge-watch Northern Exposure. Every time I try, I'm kaput by two episodes.
Anyone else think the upcoming CBS show, Madame Secretary, is a thinly-disguised advertisement for Hillary Clinton's 2016 presidential run? I wonder if they'll do an episode about Benghazi?
Been watching Arrested Development for the second time. Best sitcom ever. I'm also making my way through 30 Rock. Enjoying that too.
I like watching reruns of the sit-com "Roseanne." Normally I don't like serious scenes on a sit-com, as I watch comedies in order to laugh a lot. However, the serious scenes on Roseanne are so true-to-life and so interesting that I often watch reruns of it because I want to see the series scenes.
