I thought the bit where Theon got a kick in the balls was a nice bit of realism that eventually that would sort of be convenient. And that scene being a fight was important for his character and the ironborn culture.
Baelish failing in this season was in character. You failed to miss the point that every character is fallible. I think it would have been better if they spent more time building up a more credible and committed effort from him but the idea he collapses into a little weasel in the white walker war is kind of the point. He's out of his element and he has always been vulnerable to to his own success making him overconfident. I don't know why you think Tyrion was ineffectual. He had a good planned that failed anyway because other people can ruin good plans as can random circumstances like unpredicted weather or something. That was the point. He's not perfect or omnipotent all the characters get setbacks. That was also a moment about Jamie not being innefectual but onstead actively learning. And Tyrion's lack of abillity to control Daaenyrs is also intentional. Did you miss the conversation with Varys? The setup tension around whether Daenyrs will go full fire and blood has been hinted at for fucking years.
Oh, I'm excited! How much different Holly looks because of Lovett's age is a bit disconcerting - specially given he's a computer and therefore shouldn't have aged at all.
So I#ve finally started watching Stranger Things. Two episodes in and I'm kinda hooked already, really enjoying it. That curly haired kid, Dustin I think his name is, irritates the shit out of me though.
Yeah I've always had this love and fascination for the 80s. So that's one of the big pulls of the show for me. I'm a 90s kid and not American so I haven't experienced the 80s either.
I'm a 70s/80s kid, and that show is spot-on. When they pulled out the Ral Partha wizard figure.... Oh my lord
Just started watching the BBC docudrama "The State", on British converts to the Islamic State. I only caught the first half of episode one and all of episode two, but it looks pretty interesting.
Started re-watching Once Upon A Time. I forgot how freaking dark it is. Regina - the main villain - is not just a callous murderer but also a rapist. They really went all out with the ultimate evil villain thing.
I remember her being a murderer, but not a rapist. The show was always far too corny for me to get into. Gold was the only good thing about it so when he became a "hero" it just rolled down into a trench (I would have said downhill but I don't think it was good enough to ever be on top of one).
Yeah, it's corny and cheesy and all those things. I'm not sure if it even realizes how dark it is sometimes. Spoiler Regina stole the Huntsman's heart, literally, forcing him to do her bidding and become her bitch. After that she told her guards to take him to her bedroom. She was forcing him to sleep with her right after it was established she doesn't want to be with her in the real world. The message was pretty clear.
Ahh, that’s right. Totally forgot about that dude. Interestingly, I think it was a decent mix of morbid and cute like most of the old fairy tales were.
I agree! That's also why I don't mind the cheese that much. Fairy tales also tend to be a bit over-dramatic sometimes.
I had no idea this show was going to air again! From the trailer I can see it still looks shitty and that's a good thing.
Just watched the second episode of Electric Dreams - a series of PKD short story adaptations. It was very good.
Does anyone here watch the BBC quiz show Tipping Point? I'm not going to bother explaining the rules or concept because one, I can't be arsed, and two you won't able to answer my question anyway, if you don't know the show. When the finalist is asked to pick a category, they're then asked how many tokens they wish to play for. I've never ever seen anyone choose anything but three, as this gives them three tokens to feed into the machine providing they answer the question correctly, but can someone please explain to me why they would choose to play for anything other than three?
