I give a warm smile to the boy as he sit down. "Hey calm down. I'm not gonna bite your head off now. I'm Rue. Though you may want to be wary I think drama is about to happen at this table. Some thing about something important being wanted or whatever. There may be yelling but hey, don't let that scare ya." I say laughing a bit not really showing my interest in the conversation next to me though I made a point to listen to it. There was no way I was going to skip out on something that may turn out that interesting.
Martyn looked at Rue confused and a lit worried looking at the others noticing two of them taking a peek at him just to say who he was and listened in the conversation something about a book or something but he wasn't one hundred percent sure. "...o-oh o-o-ok Rue." he says stuttering again smiling. "i-i...i'm Martyn... b-by the way." he smiled shyly looking at the rest of them curious hoping it wouldn't get into a fight
Jinx smiled at the newcomer as Joe talked and gave a quick, "Nice to meet you!" She then turned back to Mikkish, and the others in the group,"I'm thinking that the spirit can tell us more about the people threatening you then the book you are so unabashedly lying about. I can assure each and everyone willing to enter a seance with me will be completely 100 percent safe. I will take any negative or physical violence the spirit will most assuredly convey, upon myself." She took a bite of her burger and then continued, her tone deepening, "I have done this many times with my Mamochka and can handle a simple poltergeist. I just don't have the human capability to imprison it with only my physical being. Hence, why I need help. Plus it will be nice when you can all see him, and know that I am not crazy. My favorite part." She turned to Rue and the new kid smiling, "If you both wish to join, it would be most helpful, your soul's are very strong and can help only strengthen a reading." She paused, turning to Mikkish, "Meekesh, I don't want you to tell me about this book. I don't really want to get involved past the point I need to, which is to make sure everyone at this school is safe. If this book is important enough to kill over, and believe me when a ghost is involved, it's deep century old shit, then I don't want to be near it. I attract enough as it is." She breathed digging into her fries and rubbing her dark and swollen eyes. She was exhausted, from lack of sleep and hoped the coffee and donuts would kick in soon.
"Ah well it's nice to meet you Martyn. Hopefully you don't get scared off." I laugh and then look over Jinx. "So you guys need help in some seance thing to talk to some ghost that is wanting some book for some unknown source.....Sounds interesting. I would be delighted to join in on the seance if you need an extra hand, and....thank you for the compliment I guess?" I was getting a bit confused on what she meant by strong soul but I figured it was a compliment of sorts. "But Jinx, you make it sound like the ghost may be pretty violent. I don't see why you would want to do this seance at all for someone you barely know if it means you may be hurt in the process."
Jinx paused mid bite and looked at the girl with a simple smile, "What's the point of having a "gift" if you don't use it. I help people, alive or dead deserving or not. Call it my mantra or whatever, but I can't imagine doing anything else in life." She took another bite, "Then again, having a good night sleep for once in my life would be amazing."
"What is a seance?" Martyn looked confused and worried thinking it had to do with something like ghosts and spooks. ".... also umm... what magic does everyone do..." he muttered barely really speaking up he didn't want to offend or disturb the people just incase he offended them by disturbing them it was one of the awkward moments when he was around people he'd have to open up at first. "... y-you s-shouldn't s-strain yourself."
Jinx turned to the new boy and smiled, "A seance is basically a way with which a medium, can communicate and control the area with which a spirit encumbers. It usually employs about at least four souls, one of which could be a medium. The number varies depending on the strength of the medium. Now like my mother I am also a medium. Yet my gifts are stronger, meaning that I can fully ressurect and manipulate any dead species that I see fit." She finished off the last of her coffee and food and laughed, "Don't worry if I thought I would in any way suffer long term physical pain, or even dying I would resist. I enjoy life too much, to let mine go to waste, but thank you for the concern. It's cute."
I look over to Martyn and laugh a bit. "You sure are a jumpy one.....Oh as for powers. I'm not sure about everyone else. I know at least Joe over there has some sort of calming aura thingy right?" I give a pause in case Joe would like to answer. "Then as for me....Well let's just say I can do a variety of things. Granted it's nothing powerful like other people's abilities." I say trying to go around the question. I turn towards Jynx. "Well that is a good thing to know. Then I guess we just hope you can resist before the ghost can do anything right?" I smile before taking another bite of my apple.
Mikkish got more and more nervous as this went on. It was his book. Nobody elses! But there was a glimmer of hope. This new kid....Martyn, seemed to be changing the subject. 'Alright, Mikkish. Roll with it. He is an awkward kid, but hey if he can get me out of this situation.' "Hey, Martyn, just chill out." Mikkish knew other guys who got beaten and threatened, but instead of getting tougher to adapt, they went into their shells. By high school, they were nervous introverts. "As for powers. Well I can make myself stronger, faster, increase my endurance. I also cause fires. It's not...quite...under control. Don't worry though, it only happens when I am really pissed." He said with a friendly voice "What about you, Martyn?"
"Mikkish, stop trying to change the subject, there's clearly a book and you're not only endangering your own life but the lives of others." I snapped. "You could be dragging this guy in just because he's sitting with us, we don't know the extent of this guy's power or his resources, at this very second he could be listening in or watching us, are you really going to put your own life, and ours, in danger just for a book?" I asked crossing my arms. I wouldn't mind so much if it were only my life in danger, but when others were being dragged into it, I couldn't just sit by and do nothing...
"Hey man." Mikkish began, switching hi attention suddenly to Joe "Martyn here was about to tell us all about his magic. Kind of rude of you to interrupt. Mind waiting your turn? The kids barely said anything." He said, turning back to Martyn "Sorry about that. Now you were about to say?"
Jinx turned to Rue and gave a weary smile, "I think I can pull it off. I have performed quite a few in my day, and believe me that isn't the worst I have done to satisfy a soul. I've been possessed more times I can count, of course not like exorcist type possessed, more like. Can I use your body to say goodbye to my life partner. I cannot tell you how many times I've woken up naked in someone else's room. Let it be man, woman, transvestite. I get breakfast and on most occasions a thankyou, but it gets..okay awkward, I'll stop talking about this. Umm..yeah Martyn what's your power?"
Martyn listened quietly worried quietly looking at everyone as they talked shyly. "... well... my powers is better shown then actually talked about." he muttered quietly worried about this book everyone was talking about and worried about Jinx not wanting him to hurt himself he doesn't really want anyone hurt it was his first people he properly talked to other than some of the teachers he could trust. "... but... I can create barriers around myself and people... and I can heal hurt people pretty well."
"Oh so we have a healer in our midst. What a useful talent you have there Martyn." I say. "Looks like everyone has their own pretty cool magic." I look towards Mikkish and grin. I would attempt to use my illusion magic to make it appear to others that Mikkish's hair was turning pink to bring attention towards him. "You probably shouldn't try and avoid your issues. That could end up blowing up in your face ya know. I'd listen to Joe and also accept Jynx's help before you end up in a hell of a hole you can't dig yourself out of."
"Eh heh HEM!" Mikkish blurted out loudly, staring at Rue with an offended expression "Now I can forgive barging in on my conversations, I am very approachable, but why you gotta be so rude to the new kid?" Mikkish asked, barely recognizing Rue either "Here Martyn is, trying to explain his abilities, and you go and cut him off. Martyn, sorry about these ladies and especially my friend Joe. I expected much better from him." Mikkish gave a look of disappointment at Joe. Just then, the bell went off. "Oop. Gotta go. Don't want to be late for class if I want a good education, do I?" Mikkish said, before getting up, grabbing his bag, and walking to the next class. 'Saved by the bell.' He thought.
Jinx stood her voice booming across the cafeteria before he could leave, "This isn't over Mikkish. If anyone suffers because of that book. I will find it. The dead are always watching, even if you can't see them. I BETTER NOT DIE TONIGHT BECAUSE OF YOU!" She smirked, and turned to the other group, "I can't do the seance tonight anyway. My bodies on loan to a transvestite who wants to perform on the stage one more time at this certain club before, he..I mean she..passes." She grabbed her backpack and rubbed her eyes, "I also would like to mention, that someone is going to be wanting that book tonight and seeming as captain ignorance is ignoring my warnings, I am going to have to find out what the fuck it is. You are all welcome to risk your lives as well, at about nine." Jinx waved, as she put her tray away then, yelled out, "See ya later, or tomorrow Comrades. Do svidaniya!"
I sighed in exasperation, he wasn't going to tell us no matter how we pried. This wasn't something to just take lightly... I mean people could really get hurt. Mikkish didn't seem to care, he wouldn't even listen... I could tell he didn't care about Martyn or his powers, he just wanted to use him as a way to avoid his problems. I looked over at Martyn. "Um... hi... sorry about all of that... I-I'd suggest you stay away from all of this... i-i-it might get really dangerous..." I said quietly, I sighed. "I'm Joe... it's nice meeting you... sorry that I ignored you." I said, I bowed apologetically. "I-I have to go, have a nice day..." I said, I walked away toward my next class, trying to think of some way to get Mikkish to talk, this wasn't funny, someone was going to get hurt, I didn't want that to happen. Leon had listened to the whole conversation from the next table over and smirked. "Oh my a book, very important at that... sounds... interesting." Leon thought, he knew he could probably manipulate that retard David into letting him in the room and he could probably find that book and use it as leverage to get what he wanted, either from Mikkish or one of the other gullible idiots, or maybe even this mysterious guy who's supposedly threatening all of them for that stupid thing. He got up and tossed the remainder of his meal away and whistled a cheery tune as he walked to class.
I sigh heavily as Mikkish once again avoids the subject and cross my arms. "Rude hmm? Well there's the pot calling the kettle black" I grumble. My mind getting back on track I look to Joe apologizing to Martyn. "Oh um yeah....Sorry Martyn. I probably shouldn't have called you over to the table but you just didn't seem to have any other place to sit. But yeah healing powers is a really good one. If I ever need help I know who to turn to." I says with a smile and stand up from my seat. "Anyway the bell rang for class so I better head on to it. Bye Joe and Martyn. Talk to you guys later....Well hopefully if something doesn't happen tonight. That'd be a shame." I says before throwing away my trash and heading off to class.
Martyn quietly got up as he heard the bell quiety and looked at the others nodding quietly. He threw everything away and quietly looked at everyone and his time table and rushed to his class he was really worried about this book and was curious in his own right but he was worried people would be hurt over it. "..." he was silent but happy
Jinx forced herself to ignore the dull pain from her knee as she moved towards her next class. She moved past the staircase quickly, a cold chill moving up her back when she turned to see the thin man from her bedroom smiling a few feet behind her. She glared, "Fuck off. I need to go to class." I turned towards the next room and grabbed a seat before unloading my books. I twitched, as a cold chill ran past my neck and I looked up whispering quietly, "You may think your untouchable dick wad but if you don't give me a modicum of space and time, I assure you I will send you into that darkness creeping onto your soul. Now leave, or.." She stopped, when the thin man walked into the room, and another voice whispered in her ear, "Oh love, so strong. So brave. You're treading deep water, shame if you drown." I turned abruptly to see a small blonde girl blowing a piece of bubblegum, "What? Got something to say?" I smiled, shaking my head, "Sorry." She turned back around, rubbing her forehead and staring ahead at the instructor. Deep Water... You got that right.
Mikkish continued walking as if he didn't hear Jinx, and made his way to the next class. Mathematics "The first and most important lesson as far as math goes is that it is a universal language. I told you guys this yesterday, yes, and I will tell you everyday we have this class. Mathematics though, as it applies to magic, is different from anything you have been taught in the past. When math is applied to magic, you will not only think about math, but feel math as well." Soul Energy Studies "When you cast a spell, any kind, it was a result of your working of your soul energy. It is important to remember this, as this will help you in any class in which you study magic from this point forward. That being said, you need to keep your soul energies balanced if you want to truly be a master sorcerer. Perhaps even an endless sorcerer...if they exist. Nobody knows for sure if such a thing is possible." Sparring Mikkish walked through the halls quickly, so he could get his last class over with and be done for the day. In soul energy studies, Mikkish paid little attention to what the long haired, bearded teacher had to say, as his head was focused on the image of a cute blonde girls ass which was burned into his memory from mathematics class. The title "sparring" did little to excite Mikkish. He doubted it would be real action. This was a school. The teacher would probably expel a student if he so much as tapped his opponent on the wrist too hard. He walked through the doors of the classroom and took a seat in a desk, where he waited for the other students to join.
Jinx walked into the sparring room with a sour expression. She really didn't want to fight, if need be. She hated confrontation, but could fight when possible. Her fingers twitched as she began to prepare. It would take about 15 minutes prep time, for her to be ready for a fight at this location. Preparing early would make things go quicker. She looked across the room and spotted Mikkish. She waved and went to sit beside him, after seeing his weary features she raised a hand, "I won't bust your balls about the book. Let's just keep the conversation, light. You don't think they let us truly fight?" She leaned down picking at the bandage the nurse had given her to cover up the scrape on her knee. Her eyes were a pale white, her features tightening as she pulled the corpses nearer.
Martyn quietly sat into the soul energies class listening about an endless sorcerer intruiged thinking maybe he should try doing or getting closely to that being able to heal everyone and protect everyone. "Hmm... So it's not possible to become an endless sorcerer? however people can become strong... enough to get close... how do you achieve balance?" He says worried. "I mean I don't think it's an easy job."
I listened to everything intently, in Soul Energy Studies I looked up at the teacher from my notes. "An endless sorcerer? I wonder if that just means that person has an endless source of magical power... or if they're really 'endless'... it's an interesting concept... I'm sure that a rare few have actually attained the title." I thought, I got up and walked out of the room once the bell had rang and to sparring. "I hope we won't have to hurt anyone in this class..." I thought. Leon listened to the lecture about Endless Sorcerers and smirked. "I'm perfectly balanced, I bet I'll be the first of these losers to become an endless sorcerer." He thought smugly, he got up and walked out of the room once the bell had rang and went to sparring. "Hope I get to beat that annoying doppelganger of mine..." He thought smirking.
I sat through mathematics somehow. It did seem a bit more interesting than all the other math classes I've had before it. At least this teacher actually explained things well besides handing a copy of notes. When I went to Soul energy studies it was very intriguing to hear something about master sorcerers and even endless. Though I shrugged the idea off. It was probably an impossible idea for most of the students here including myself. I thought before heading into sparring class as the bell rang. I found a seat and sighed. "Pfft fighting in school? Hmm....I wonder if the school is cool enough for that. There are some people with healing magic around I assume but that wouldn't necessarily mean anything." I say aloud mostly to myself.
