Jinx got dressed fast, wanting to get out of the greasy club where how many men saw her half naked. She was headed for the door when the manager stopped her and asked if she wanted to make her performance permanent. She shook her head, "No...Never again, my life as a stripper is dead. Sorry." He shrugged, "Well maybe if you want to give me a personal show I can make it worth your while." She cocked her head to the side, "Perhaps not. I'm leaving now." She turned heading away from him, when he grabbed her arm, "Hey I wasn't..." Jinx reacted turning on her heel to kick out at his kneecap then swinging around to punch him in the face. He fell hard, and she leaned down to pick up twenty bucks that fell out of his hands, "Don't ever touch a girl like that again. I'll take this for my cut of the night, and don't presume to call or look at me again fucker. Got it." She moved towards the door kicking it open fiercely before heading out into the alley. She crossed her arms, seeing Mikkish trying to score change from the people waiting to get into the club. She moved towards him when the world shifted, and she fell against the wall, as her vision began to fade. She began to count back from five, before her equilibrium returned and she looked forward. "Shit." She headed up to Mikkish and smiled, "Already kicked out? Geez Meekesh you really work fast don't you." She giggled, and moved towards her bike, taking out the keys. She paused again, gripping the handlebar tightly, as the world faded to black for a few seconds. She frowned, and turned towards Mikkish, trying to act coy, "You want to drive, Sparky?"
Mikkish gawked at the girl who had jumped on Jinx' motorcycle, almost wanting to hit on her, when he realized this girl was Jinx. "Wow. You clean up pretty well. Now I'm even more sorry I missed your performance." Mikkish said, walking up to the bike with a grin "Sure. I've been on dirt bikes before, this can't be too much different." He said, getting in the seat in front of Jinx and gripped the handle bars "Keys." He said, holding out his hand.
Jinx looked down at herself, unsure as to why he was looking at her like that. She then smirked, trying to hide her blush with bravado, before she took a few steps forward, "Not really my handiwork, but I appreciate a compliment when I get one." She dropped the keys into his open palm, and then wrapped her arms around his lower waist, gripping him tightly as she leaned against him, "Now let me say this clearly. This bike means more to me then every cent in this god forsaken world. You put a single scratch on her, I will kick your ass." She sighed,"Now hup hup. Let's ride cowboy."
Mikkish smirked at Jinx "Don't worry. I am an expert with bikes." He said, his only experience being that he rode a dirt bike one time when he was 13. He had hardly ever driven before either, so most of his experience came from playing GTA and Saints Row. The enging roared as he squeezed the gas to pull off the curb. His head then turned behind him to look at a middle aged man who looked dressed for work. He had his hair slicked back, glasses, the works. This man had swatted at Mikkish and said "Fuck off" when he asked for change. Mikkish made a U turn, around the front of an oncoming pickup truck whos horn was now blaring, and sped toward the man. Just as the man was turning around with a look of horror as if in slow motion, Mikkish rode the bike past the man, close enough to deliver a forceful punch, physical buff and all, into the back of his head. The man went flying forward, and went face first into a light pole so hard it left a dent. "FUCK YOU YOU WHITE COLLAR PUSSYYYYYY!" Mikkish yelled happily as he rode past, the made another U turn in the middle of the rode, after having just past a sign depicting the letter U with a big red cross through it. Mikkish then pushed hard on the gas, sending the bike rushing twice the speed limit, which was posted on a sign which read "35mph." But Mikkish had no time to read that sign. After all, he had already sped past it as he swerved through traffic, nearly getting hit twice. "WOOOOOOOOOOOH! FUCK YEEAAAAHH!" Mikkish yelled, as the speed dial reach 80mph and he ran a red light, which he probably should have stopped at considering they were nearly killed by a wall of traffic coming from the left. But none of what Mikkish had done was as amazing as his next feat. As Mikkish and Jinx avoided being trampled by the herd of sedans, trucks, and mini vans, they found themselves in the left lane, on a street only big enough for a single car. And Mikkish couldn't simply turn the bike right, as some fool was stopped. Or driving really slow. Mikkish couldn't tell. Just as the bike was about to crash, Mikkish did the first thing that came to mind. He sent all the magic energy burning in his chest to his legs, and jumped the biked onto the hood of a car. The bike then slid onto the windshield, and went flying towards the wall of an apartment building, but at a lopsided angle. This was perfect, however, as Mikkish pulled up on the bike, the wheels hit the brick wall, and they rode on the side of the wall for a second, before returning to the sidewalk wheels first, and back onto the street, where Mikkish zipped toward the campus, raising his fist in victory. At long last, the bike made one last pass in front of yet another car, across the school sidewalk, and onto the lawn. They were still up past 80, and the wheels were shredding the grass and kicking up dirt. Mikkish decided to ease his hand off the gas whiled riding the biked in circles, just like at a motorcross derby. Once the bike's engine stopped, and Mikkish and Jinx were now on a patch of dirt, just like nothing happened, Mikkish calmly put up the kickstand and walked three steps before shouting "WOOOOOOO! YEAH!" He threw up both hands as he yelled, as if he had just scaled Mount Everest "YEEEEEAAAAAHHHHH!!!!" The bike, despite it most recent adventure, was still in good shape. No scratches, nothing broken. Just a little dirt. Of course, Jinx would still have plenty to be pissed about. But Mikkish wasn't concerned about that right now. He was celebrating hos victory....over.....road laws.....
Jinx clung to Mikkish harshly during his little escapade, her heart almost giving out on her when he got them run over. She liked going fast and half these stunts were pretty badass, but all that came into her mind was the safety of her bike. She screamed harshly as they were going to run into a car, but then miraculously drove over it. When they inevitably pulled up at the school, and Mikkish jumped off Jinx fumbled off the bike ripping off her helmet, and going to her knees to expect every inch of it. She fumbled, about touching every gear and do-hickey before finally giving full clearance of her body to breathe. When she stood up, red was blaring in the back of her corneas. She ran straight at Mikkish, yelling before she tackled him to the ground and began beating on his chest, "YOU STUPID DUMB AMERICAN ASS! YOU ALMOST DESTROYED MY BIKE YOU SON OF A BITCH! I COULD KILL YOU RIGHT NOW!" "YOU ARE NEVER RIDING MY BABY AGAIN! WHAT DO YOU HAVE TO SAY FOR YOURSELF?"
Mikkish was still excited as Jinx tackled him. "Uh...sorry for being awesome?" He said through his laughter "Seriously, what is with you, Joe, and that other girl? You guys need to lighten up. I mean come on, that shit was pretty cool." Mikkish gave a smirk as he said this nonchalantly. Looking around and hoping there were no cops catching up with him. Then, when there weren't, Mikkish pulled himself out from underneath Jinx and stood up. "Now where were we?....Oh yeah, we are gonna kill this mage killer." Mikkish said, looking over to the bike and the trail of torn up lawn leading to it "We should probably hide the bike first, though. But...since its your bike...I will let you take care of that while I round up David, the other girl, and that...Marcus kid." Mikkish said cheerfully, walking off to the dorm building. The 'other girl' he referred to, of course, was Rue, and Marcus, was actually Martyn, who's name he didn't remember after only having spoken to the shy kid a couple times.
I looked at the crime scene from a little ways away, there was yellow tape around the scene, I could see five officers keeping people away from the scene and three cop cars parked nearby. I saw a tree that overlooked the crime scene. I knew they wouldn't allow me into the scene... I needed to get a better look. I went over to the tree and climbed up quickly and peered into the crime scene. I could see the outline of where the body had been. I was kind of grateful... I didn't want to see the poor girl again... I could still feel the guilt gripping my heart still... I didn't think I could bear to look at her again. I surveyed the crime scene from above as quietly and as inconspicuously as I could... I saw a detective checking out the scene, searching for clues... and... a man in an orange jumpsuit at the scene too... why would they have a prisoner at a crime scene, I mean they could damage evidence just to spite the cops! I couldn't see a good reason why you'd take a criminal on scene... I looked at the tree quietly, the top half had been burnt and the leaves had been burnt along with it. The chain had also been taken away... there wasn't anything that I could see from up here... I was about to climb down from the tree, but that's when I saw it... a glint of silver, underneath a pile of ash, it was faint, but I was certain I saw it, it was near the tree, still within the area of the police tape. It had to be important... it might be a clue that the killer left behind before the murder, I had to figure out what it was, I needed to get behind that police tape! I climbed down the tree quickly and quietly, doing my best not to disturb the branches too much and draw attention to myself. I just needed a distraction and get to that ash pile... I wasn't going to take it, I just wanted to know what it is, it could be relevant to the case.
Jinx stood up roughly as Mikkish shimmied out from under her. She crossed her arms and gave him a pointed look, her anger dissipating,"You are just lucky that the cops didn't follow us or my ass is getting deported back to Russia." She moved halfway through his talking to grab her helmet and then the handles of her bike. She turned back to him as he started to walk off,"His name is Martyn...and I will be there in a few minutes." She pushed the bike forward rolling it towards the automotive section in the school. She parked it near the back, then headed towards the cafeteria, hoping to scrounge up some pizzas from the night crew. She headed into the school, the hallways dark and barely lit. The only sound was her heels hitting the floor. She blinked, rubbing her eyes before her body shifted and she smacked into the lockers. "Yeowch..Crap..this is what you get retard for skippinf on sleep for five nights." She righted herself then made it to the cafeteria, and picked out two premade pizzas from earlier in the evening. She then moved to a side counter and pulled out her backpack, digging through it to pull out her pill bottle. She pulled out her last pill and placed it on the counter before turning to order some water as well when a little thunk hits her ears and she turns to see her pill rolling away towards an air vent. She just blinks, her body slighty drooping before she grabbed the pizzas and head towards the dorms weary of the night ahead.
Mikkish took the stairs up to the second floor of the dorm, despite not knowing exactly which rooms were Rue's or Martyns and not knowing if they even had rooms on this floor. Knocking on each and every door to see which was who's would be too tedious, so he decided to start shouting for them "Yo Martyn, Rue! Hey David!" He hollered, remembering that David was in the same Dorm room. Mikkish walked quickly over to his room, wanting to start this investigation as soon as possible. "David, you in here?" Mikkish asked, opening the door.
I during this time had nodded off on my bed as I had nothing really to do at all at this point. After a bit I sit up with a start and look around my room. "....Hnn? Oh..." I would sleepily shift my gaze on over to the curtained up window in my room. There was no light streaming through so I could safely assume it was still nighttime. I would then looks to the floor where my knife had slipped and fallen when I had nodded off. Carefully I would reach down and pick up the knife putting it back in its sheathe and tossing it into a pocket as I stand up from the bed and stretch. "I haven't heard a peep I wonder how long this thing of there's lasts....." I pause a moment before heading out of the room to lounge around the hallway wondering what I should do at that point. I figured the gaming room might be a decent option to see if anything interesting at all was happening. So I decide to head on towards the second floor and hang around just out of pure boredom.
Jinx turned the corner and saw Rue heading towards the game room. She called out, walking slowly forward, "Hey sorry, if we took to long. Dalia's performance was longer then I was hoping for." She lifted up the boxes smiling, "I have pizza though!" She then looked around, "Meekesh said he was going to go up to your room first." She sighed, "I suppose he had no idea where your room was does he. Men, absolutely useless!" She yawned, "Where's Martyn? Did he join you?"
I stop to turn and look back a bit confused as to who was calling me. When I notice it was actually Jinx I smile. "Oh hey. Nah, it's fine. I'm guessing it went alright though since you seem fine." I laugh when she lifts up the boxes. "Well that's great.....Pfft that goof. But then again I suppose part of that is my fault really. I told you guys to meet up at my room yet I never said which room was mine. Sorry about that." I blink a moment in thought and then look around. "Wait....Oh I have no clue what happened to Martyn. Maybe he went to his own room, he sure didn't come with me that's for sure." I sigh and look back the way I had come. "Well I can go ahead and lead you ontu my room. Maybe we'll catch Mikkish on the way there. And a favor? Help me give him a punch or two if he so much as thinks about touching my things." I ask with a laugh. "Can't ever be too careful."
Jinx laughed and began following Rue towards her room,"Oh of course. You should see what he almost did to my bike, nearly gave me a heart attack. Don't worry I got your back друг." She liked, the young girl, she was nice and very pretty and she really hoped that they could be good friends over time. When they reached her level, Mikkish was banging on the door of someones room, "YOU KNOW PEOPLE COULD BE SLEEPING ИДИОТ!" She quickly covered her mouth, when she realized the hypocrisy of her yelling. She turned to Rue, "Sorry. I am slightly irritated, and overly tired. It puts me on edge."
"Well thanks for that." I say going up the stairs and stopping when I hear the yelling. "...Wow." I sigh heavily shaking my head. "I can see why. So he really is always like this huh? Kinda sore idea thinking that we'll be in the same school let alone dorm for the entire school year with him. But, then again I guess there are some people that can balance his.....whatever you would call it....." I simply give a shrug after that. "Oh well. My rooms this one over here." I say walking over to my door and opening it to step inside. I would then walk over to my bed and jumps down on it kicking my shoes off.
I went up to the police tape and waved over at the detective. "Excuse me sir, I think I saw something." I called out, I knew that this would be the wisest thing to do, if I trespassed, I'd be committing a crime, sure what I did at the tree was suspicious, however it wasn't anything illegal, since I hadn't actually entered the crime scene. The cop turned to Joe, looked him over, then when he decided Joe wouldn't be too much of a threat, finished what he was writing on his notepad, then walked over to Joe. "Sir, is there something I can help you with?" He asked apathetically. He was too preoccupied to listen to what Joe said the first time. "I'm sure that I saw something, may I show you where I saw it? I think it's important" I said, I hoped he'd let me onto the crime scene and let me get a look at what was hidden under the ashes. "No I can't let you onto the crime scene." He said, annoyed "What do you see? Where is it? Point." I sighed and walked around the tape until I got close to the ash pile where I had seen the glint of metal, with enough luck he wouldn't obscure my line of sight, I pointed at the ashes. "It's there, under the ashes, I saw something shining there." I said. The cop sighed quietly, then walked over to the ash pile and looked down. He saw the glimmer of metal, and reached down into the ashes. When he pulled his hand out, there in between his fingers was a silver necklace, partially charred, with a cross on it. Saying nothing to Joe, he walked over to the detective "Found something." He called, as the detective walked up and took the necklace. I examined the necklace as best as I could. "Partially charred... and a cross... it could have belonged to the victim... perhaps even the killer..." I thought, I crossed my arms. "If she was a student... then she likely would have gone to that chapel nearby." I thought, I remembered it from that day I had gone with the Mikkish and the others to look around town and discovered the body... it would certainly fit in with the killer's 'safety zone', if this was fueled by religion and the killer was Christian or Catholic, then he'd go to the one place where he'd feel like god could protect him.
Mikkish turned from the room when no reply came. David was a strong guy, and it was a shame if he wouldn't come on the investigation, but Mikkish wasn't about to wait all day. He closed the door, locked it, and ran off into the room he saw Rue going into. "Alright." Mikkish said, sitting down on an empty bed in Rue's dorm "Lets get this started." Mikkish looked around "Shit, Leon and Martyn ain't here either?"
Jinx followed Rue into the room quietly, dropping her bag into a corner before going to sit beside Rue on her bed. Of course after taking off her shoes. She looked around in wonder, her dreary eyes widening, "It's..It's..so big, and quiet. There's no one here. Not even one soul. This is how you live every day. You are so lucky. You can sleep at anytime of the day." Jinx smiled curling to her side slightly against, the wall as her eyes closed and she waited for the meeting to start. The pizza was placed on the table for everyone's enjoyment.
I look to Mikkish as he comes in and shrugs. "Nope I haven't seen either of them in a bit. Sorry about that." I say with a smile before changing my attention towards Jinx now. "So you get harrased by spirits constantly hmm? I can see how that can be a problem.....Well, since I like you Jinx if you want every once in a while you can bunk in here with me if you ever need to get away. That is if they don't find you here." I stretch my arms in the air for a moment. "So Jinx you're the one in charge right now."
Mikkish walked over and grabbed a slice of pizza, ignoring Rue's comment about Jinx being in charge. It was obviously a joke. Nobody could possibly think anyone else was a better leader than himself, right? He then walked over to a bed and took a bite before speaking. "Alright. So obviously this guy is killing mages cause it is evil to the Christians. I ain't one myself, but every southern boy knows those quotes. 'Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live.' 'Pluck your eye out if it cause you to sin." Mikkish took another bite and chewed it up before speaking again "I have no doubts in my head where this guy is operating out of. It is so blatantly obvious." He said, swallowing another bite "This fucker is at the church. I say we go there, find him, and you know, kick his ass. Then curb stomp on him. Then I set him on fire." Mikkish said, more confident in his pyrokinesis, despite that he could no longer control it "Any questions?"
Abandoned Warehouse, London This used to be a warehouse for antique shops. Apparently, no one wanted any antiques and now it's abandoned with the antiques that no one wanted. An antique graveyard, if you will. Ok. Let's see... One goat testicle. Check. One monkey tongue. Check. One pint of walrus blood. Check. Three lizard eyes. Check. Half a lemon. Check. Vodka. Check Salt. Check. And pepper. Check. So...: Lightly sear the goat testicle with a blowtorch... This book is fucking mental! Use the walrus blood to paint a pentagram enveloped by a circle. Hew... this stuff smells awful! And it's sticky. Dip the goat testicle in vodka ignite it a quickly extinguish the flame. I pick it up with the forceps. Dip. Ignite. Blow. I blow on it. I BLOW ON IT! CRAP!!! IT'S STILL ON FIRE!!! MY TESTICLE'S ON FIRE!!! SHAKE!!! I SHAKE IT!!! IT FLIES OFF!!! Fuck. I lost my testicle. I'll never find it under old this junk. I should've have listened to the butcher and just gotten the set. Where am I going to find another testicle at this hour?
Martyn had returned to his room a little shaken up still but still surviving he didn't know what to do to run to sit and cry and hide till he was safe forever. He then snapped out of it and went looking for Rue the only real person he could trust to talk to at the moment he didn't know where she was so he was just wandering about lost. "i-i wonder where she is?" He then noticed them going into a room quietly.
"What are you dumb Mikkish? You don't just waltz in a beat someone up without even the smallest bit of plan or information. For example who they are, how they work, or even how they're killing other people who use magic. I say we still have a bit to do before charging head first." I say giving Mikkish a glare before nabbing a slice of pizza myself. "Now any other bright ideas to get information? Because that's what we need." I then take a bite of the slice.
Several days was the length it took for Theos to reach the academy campus. Train to the nearest coastline, then boat to his destined location. People may have spotted a law-enforcement vehicle arrive, then further spectate Theos exiting the vehicle and getting escorted to the office. A secretary there gave Theos his room-key, along with informing him of the rules and guidelines to follow while living in the academy. To be honest he payed attention to jack-shit, merely going with the flow of the situation as swiftly as possible. His hopes were to get these fools off his back and actually get some time without them huffing over his shoulder. Then once in peace and quiet, he would scavenge for some sort of nurishment, for hunger was surfacing. Before he could explore the campus on his own, the secretary or staff-member escorted Theos to the dorm room mansion. By the time Theos stopped staring at the building before himself, the staff member had already taken their leave. Thinking he was finally alone A smirk etches his expression as he softly spoke to himself. “And here I thought things would be strict.” Pivoting on his foot, he scans the surrounding area, ending his view on the dorm-room mansion again. For a school campus, Theos found the place incredibly un-eventful............Maybe he would have to change that once he gets more familiar with the area.
I made a few notes in my notebook and then placed it back into my pocket. "Alright, since it's on the way, I'll check out the chapel before I go to the first crime scene... perhaps when I get back I'll go back to the library and get some books on pyromancy, maybe necromancy... I mean Jinx did say that the Somalian rune on her stomach was the cause of her not talking... but is that the truth? Could the rune just be there to throw us off? ...Is Jinx just lying to us all?" I wondered, I didn't want to suspect her... however everyone is a suspect, including myself if you look at the crime scene through different angles. Jinx could have wanted the book, she could have just made everything up about the ghost, her target could have been the book the whole time, whatever in the book that Mikkish has is something very dangerous. Some ritual or information that would either be very destructive or something that would grant them immense power. She could have earned our trust by selling us that story about being a medium and just kept an eye on us and lead us down false trails. I don't want to believe this one... the pain that she was feeling after Mikkish had called her a freak... it couldn't have been an act... right? Mikkish could have learned of my suspicions and feeling protective about the book, he picked up that girl at the party, ensured that she'd still be knocked out. He researched the Somalian rune and managed to muster enough strength to wipe their memories even after they've died. Then he used his pyrokinesis to set the girl on fire. Though he could always be the true culprit, leading us to believe that the reason behind the murders is a book that's supposedly in his possession while he attempts to perform some ritual. I don't want to believe this either... he might be a bit close minded, but he doesn't seem like a bad person, he's kind to me too. David could have learned about the book before he got on the boat and has been pretending this whole time to be mentally challenged to have us never suspect him. He acts out strangely in order to give himself the excuse that he was possessed by a demon if we were to ever figure out that he was the killer. However, there's a flaw with this theory, Mikkish and him share a dorm, he'd be able to grab the book and then disappear, I'm sure that's where the book was hidden... I don't think he'd trust a bank to keep a hold of something that precious, or leave it somewhere where it could be discovered by someone by pure chance. David could also just have a grudge against mages or wanted to perform some ritual. The demon that resides with David, Junior. He'd be able to kill them without a second thought, and a demon would be very interested and would know the importance of such a book, it could grant him a physical body, stop having to use David, be able to cause havoc without the limitations of a human body. He could have just killed them for fun, or it could be for some ritual that could give him a body, and a demon would certainly be able to commune with spirits or cause them to flee in terror... right? I'd have to look up books on demons to see if that were the case. Then there's Rue and Martyn... I don't think they're involved, but they always could be, they could have come into the group in order to keep an eye on us, they might be after the book or want to perform a ritual for some insidious reason. Martyn's quite timid... it's hard to think that he could kill someone... but as with David, it could just be an act to make us not even be able to think that he'd be able to commit murder. Leon... he doesn't seem like the kindest person... I could see him doing things to get ahead of others... including murder, if he knew the importance of the book... though... I think he would have just gone straight for the book rather than go through all of this... He could have gotten into that room by just being friendly to Mikkish and then knock him out, simple as that, or just trick David into letting him in. Then again, he could be using some ritual to give himself a lot of power. Then, there's me. I could just be acting kind and timid to make everyone believe that I wouldn't be able to kill someone. I'd just gain everyone's trust, try to get them to go down the wrong avenues, slowly working toward my ultimate goal... but of course, I know that this isn't the truth, however others would, understandably, be able to come to this conclusion. I sighed, there were too many possibilities... I want to believe that there's a culprit X behind all of this. Well... if there is then my first stop is the chapel. I walked through the streets in silence until I finally reached the chapel. I walked up the stone steps to the wooden doors and walked through, I looked around in silence, I didn't know who to go to... perhaps a priest? "Alright, there are two possibilities, one the girl went here... perhaps even the boy did too, that could be how they're connected... the other possibility is that the murderer is here... or at least hides here after his murders..." I thought... another thought hadn't occurred to me until now... perhaps all three of them were churchgoers, perhaps they all knew each other. Maybe something that happened between them caused a rift, it caused the third to snap, perhaps they were questioning their faith, or maybe they sinned in some way that the third found inexcusable. Perhaps the murderer was targeting mages that followed his religion, thinking that it was blasphemous or a mockery that those that followed something that was supposed to be satanic in their religion, magic, were following his religion. I sighed. "I should keep my mind open about all of this, however I need to narrow down the possibilities, I need to speak to someone here... god I hope that those guys will just give up... I don't want them getting hurt, I'm just trying to be responsible, if they go after them they'll likely go in and get themselves killed, if I find them I'll contact the police, people who are trained for this sort of thing and have much more experience and have them deal with the murderer and anyone else who might be affiliated with them." I thought.
Mikkish sighed "There are three of us. And we might meet Joe or Leon or something on the way there." Mikkish said, knowing that this would be a good enough argument to convince himself....but probably not enough to convince Jinx and Rue. "Alright. Alright, maybe we won't go for the assassin head on, but we're still going to the nearby church to look for clues. Somethings gotta turn up there. It's closed though, so we will probably need to break in. You ladies probably don't want to break the law, but it's for the greater good." Mikkish said, hoping they would go along with his idea, they would find the assassin, end him, and be the heroes who took him down.
